Tyler Goodson has emerged as the Cowboys' reliable backup running back after the team cycled through several options. Since joining the team, Goodson has looked good as a high-efficiency change-of-pace runner, offering the offense an explosive element of suddenness out of the backfield. While Javonte Williams handles the heavy interior grinding, Goodson has shown nice vision to attack the perimeter on outside-zone concepts. His one-cut burst and quick acceleration allow him to get through tight creases both as a running back and as a reliable return specialist filling in for KaVontae Turpin.

Goodson provided a spark on kickoff returns and seems a lot better at finding holes than typical return specialists. While his return for a touchdown didn't count due to a holding penalty, it was still a great play where he flew through the opening and made several sharp cutbacks to extend the play. The source describes him as an intriguing piece going forward, comparing him favorably to KaVontae Turpin who often runs out of bounds.

Running well in RB tandem with Javonte Williams; provided speed and agility component to Cowboys' ground attack. The hammer-and-speed approach with Williams worked effectively against Eagles all night. Source recommends Dallas continue utilizing this pairing at high rate for remainder of season: 'This is a pairing that Dallas should continue to utilize at a high rate for the remainder of the season.' Goodson cranked out nifty runs and offered complementary speed to Williams' power running.

Goodson benefited from Dallas' dominant run blocking, which produced the team's best rushing performance of the season with 200+ rushing yards on 65 plays, zero tackles for loss, and very little pressure in the passing game. The Cowboys' offensive line consistently created movement and gave Williams and Goodson lanes to exploit against an Eagles defensive front capable of causing problems. Goodson also appeared to break a kickoff return for a touchdown, but a holding penalty on Justin Barron negated the score.
