The source predicts Atwell becomes Matthew Stafford's No. 1 target in Week 7 vs. Raiders with 12 targets, 8 receptions, and 143 receiving yards. With Davante Adams sidelined by injury and Puka Nacua suffering a calf injury, the Rams will be thin at wide receiver and forced to lean on Atwell's ability to create separation. The source cites Atwell's explosive play ability and references his 2023 season start (26 targets, 17 receptions, 246 yards in first three games) as evidence he can handle a featured role. This will be Atwell's first game with double-digit targets in his career.

Tutu Atwell is among the secondary receiving options for the Rams following Davante Adams' placement on injured reserve; Atwell, Konata Mumpfield, and Jordan Whittington have combined for 13 catches this season, indicating limited production depth behind Puka Nacua.

Tutu Atwell will be active for the Rams this upcoming week instead of being a healthy scratch, creating potential for a deep touchdown catch with Puka Nacua sidelined. However, Omar Cooper Jr. is not prioritizing him as a waiver add, expecting production to flow to tight ends instead given the Rams' heavy reliance on 12 and 13 personnel packages.

With Davante Adams suffering a late-game injury against Arizona, Atwell has an opportunity to earn a significantly larger role in McVay's offense against Las Vegas in Week 7. Depending on Adams' severity and availability, Atwell could see an expanded snap count. Even if Adams returns quickly, the source argues the Rams should give Atwell a more consistent role, particularly in obvious third-down passing situations, to avoid offensive predictability and add vertical explosiveness.

Atwell was inactive in Week 6 loss to Arizona but should earn a significantly larger role against Las Vegas, especially with Davante Adams suffering a late-game injury. The source argues McVay must prioritize Atwell on the field more often; when Atwell plays, the Rams' offense posts +0.213 EPA per play with 50.8% success rate versus −0.016 EPA per play and 47.9% success rate without him (59 plays on, 351 plays off). Despite only four targets this season, Atwell averages a team-high 16.7 air yards per target per Next Gen Stats, stretching defenses vertically and creating opportunities for Nacua and Adams. The source contends Atwell should be on the field for every obvious 3rd down passing situation and that rotating him into more packages is essential to avoid predictability and climb back into NFC contention.
