The ball can move but you do have to possess it. You gotta survive the ground. He did survive the ground, but the ball did move I think at some point. So I can understand. Watkins had 6 official targets (7 true) for 3 catches and 56 yards and a 23-yard TD reversed on replay to an incompletion with San Francisco down 26-14 (17.1% target share, up from 3.3%). He played 50 of 66 snaps (76%), the same as 47 of 62 (76%) in Week 6. The reversed TD significantly impacts his fantasy output for the week.

Watkins is described as cautiously optimistic in this game. He made a great fingertip grab in the third quarter where he dove for a throw. At the beginning of the fourth quarter, Watkins was wide open down the seam on a play that was underthrown; if hit in stride, it would arguably be a touchdown. On his first incomplete pass, it was a great release to get open but he didn't secure the catch. The same is true for his end zone target. Both were A+ throws that he should have caught. The source notes if you simulate his final two targets 100 times, he probably catches it 97 times, but the Niners were on the wrong end of variance.
