0:46Welcome to the Devi Dojo where legends get displayed.
0:48And we're back. And when you hear that music, you already know that it's time to enter the dojo.
0:53And look, tonight is a very, very special episode because it is the first with the Devi Dojo and the Devi Planet
1:00combining, joining forces under a single banner. And we, Chris, I'm going to speak for you here right now.
1:05We are so excited to have the Devi Oracle in the dojo tonight.
1:08Chris, go ahead. Explain to the people what we're talking about tonight and then kick it to our guest here.
1:14The newest member of the Devi Dojo. Officially official.
1:17Absolutely. So we announced it officially today. It is Sunday as we record on our discords and Twitter and Substack and Patreon.
1:23We're on all of our lovely platforms. Both the planet and the dojo have combined forces under the Devi Dojo banner.
1:29So we are bringing on three fantastic Devi minds to help expand our platform and get more content for you guys.
1:34It just made sense. You know, we're always talking with these boys.
1:38We've been on the show with Spencer and I see a couple times.
1:41Tom and I have been on shows together. You know, it's a great little friendship that we have.
1:46And we've grown into a nice little cohesive unit and now we are all partners in crime here at the Devi Dojo.
1:53So we're excited to have the planet landing and passing on their interstellar knowledge to us here in the dojo to help
1:59us train you both here on planet Earth and get some outside this galaxy resources as well.
2:04So Spencer, let's hear your thoughts, man. We're obviously glad to have you.
2:07And it's not really like you're even a guest at this point.
2:11You're a guest on me and Dustin's show technically, but you're part of the dojo now.
2:15So you're one of the boys. Yeah, man. I was going to say I'd be remiss if I didn't say guest.
2:21You know, I thought this was my new home.
2:23So no, I mean, I'm really glad to be part of this.
2:27Like, I mean, obviously you guys are the dojo.
2:29We've become like brothers. You know, we're talking ball all the time.
2:33We're talking life. And I'm looking forward to kind of, I think, you know, we've been saying we're getting bigger.
2:38But more importantly, we're getting better with this. We're going to be able to do more, bring more content, kind of go beyond just the simple Devi.
2:46And we're going to be starting to get that dynasty content consistently out for you.
2:50We're going to be starting to get some CFF looks and really be able to build some really fun, cool tools.
2:56So I'm looking forward to it. I really appreciate you guys having me on your show here today.
3:01And I look forward to many more to come as we build this thing out.
3:05Without a doubt. Yeah. Now there's a nice pool of people that we can draw from for instances like next week, where
3:11we will have our biggest guest ever, Will Stone from Blue Chip himself joining.
3:15And of course, I botched my schedule and I'm best man at a wedding that night.
3:20So that means that Spencer's I mean, SC is going to fill in for us that day.
3:24And he'll be joining Dustin with Will on the pod.
3:27So that'll be a great, great episode next week.
3:30So stay tuned. There's going to be more opportunities for us to just keep bringing content out for you guys every week
3:36on schedule, especially as we get here into the meat of the season.
3:39And in honor of this partnership, we today are discussing the Devi Planet's aliens list, which is much like a freak's list is a very, very detailed article.
3:47I read it and I was like, wow, this is a lot of content.
3:51It was fantastic. You guys did a great job.
3:54So we've each highlighted a couple of players that we wanted to discuss from the aliens list that are specifically 2027 draft
4:00eligible players so that we can, as always, start looking forward to the future, because once the season gets rolling, baby, we're
4:06going to be thinking about those drafts coming up in the spring.
4:09So without further ado, the first player that I picked is Lenoris Sellers.
4:13And if you're a longtime listener of the dojo, you know that I have been a Sellers fan for quite some time,
4:19even though he's not on my top 12 quarterbacks as it stands in Devi.
4:23He's still flirting with that top 15 there. I still love the talent.
4:27I think he's still got a really, really good shot of getting that first round draft capital because he is a freak.
4:33He is an alien. He's absolutely phenomenal physical specimen, amazing cannon arm.
4:36He can run the ball like hell. The problem is that the on-field results haven't been quite up to par compared to
4:42what we know he has in him, but he has all the tools that you're looking for out of a quarterback and
4:48a dual threat running quarterback, especially for fantasy purposes, which, you know, we love those.
4:53They get a lot of points, but he hasn't really been able to put it all together.
4:57The thing that I love about him as well as his intangibles, like he seems like an absolutely amazing leader, a great
5:03kid, got a good head on his shoulders. The head on his shoulders, the leadership doesn't always translate to poise on the field, though.
5:10He's made some errant throws. He's made some poor decision making, and he doesn't have a good cast around him, which kind
5:16of stinks because his loyalty is almost biting him back at this point because he's sticking to South Carolina and he hasn't
5:22really had a whole lot of guys to throw to.
5:25So when you look at the overall profile, I'm still pretty in on him.
5:29I have to be in on him. I have a lot of him from last year, but I believe that he's still
5:35got a real chance to rise again and become one of those top flight names in Debbie this year if he can
5:41just put a little bit more together looking at his career stats.
5:45He's only got a 73.4 PFF offensive grade, 62.6 completion percentage, NFL QBR, not terrible 97.1, but this is what I'm talking about.
5:51He's ran the ball 259 times for nearly 1500 yards and 13 touchdowns.
5:55That's fantastic. So if we can see him evolve a little bit more as a passer, I think that it's wheels up
6:01and I think there's still a shot that even if he has a year much like he did the last two seasons,
6:07he's still going to go in the first round.
6:10We've seen Anthony Richardson go number four overall because of that tantalizing overall profile.
6:14And there's going to be some NFL GMs that are just salivating at the tools that this kid has.
6:19So for me, had to start with this guy because I'm just wishing above all else that he can just produce a
6:25little bit better this year and rise up those rankings once again.
6:28Yeah, I know Spencer and I were both really high on him last year too.
6:33And it makes sense to have Lenoris on this list because he's a freak.
6:37He's out of this world. Six foot three, I believe like 240 pounds.
6:40He moves ridiculously for a man of that size.
6:43And I think it is interesting when you bring up Anthony Richardson because I think that's the go-to in this era of
6:49the type of quarterback we think of that size that's athletic.
6:52It can move. But the thing is, Lenoris has a lot more collegiate experience, which makes me a little more excited for his translatability to the next level.
7:00I think mechanically he's pretty good. But I mean, that rushing dipped down last year.
7:04So Spencer, are you at all concerned going into this season with that bad environment that Chris talked about?
7:09Or do you think that maybe with Bryles there, do you think they've done enough to hopefully elevate that stock?
7:15Yeah. And he's a really tough one. And, you know, obviously we put him on this list because of the physical traits.
7:21I mean, that's how you get on this list is he has those freak traits.
7:25As you said, 6'3", 240 with a cannon. So we know he's got that raw ability.
7:30And I'm really hoping, like the name you mentioned there, Bryles, I think is the key here.
7:34Because he's been known to develop a much better offense than what South Carolina has put out the last couple of years.
7:41And I think Sellers is a really good fit in that offense.
7:44It should help alleviate some of his decision making, help him get the ball out a little quicker.
7:49I mean, he's been asked to do a lot of hero ball.
7:52And I'm hoping that goes down. Now, they didn't necessarily elevate the offensive line and wide receivers like you would hope.
7:58But I mean, at least from the wideout standpoint, he has enough talent there that at a college level, even in the
8:04SEC, he should be able to get something done with that.
8:07But the offensive line is still a little bit of a larger concern, especially for a guy who holds onto the ball.
8:14But, you know, I almost ball somewhere in the middle.
8:16I think that this is one you got to kind of head your bed on.
8:21And this is a guy who I had as, honestly, I think my QB won going into last year because of what
8:27he showed at the end of 2024 in that 2025 season.
8:30And it just didn't carry over. So I'm hoping he can kind of rebound back to who that was.
8:35I mean, that game against Clemson in the playoffs was absolutely legendary.
8:38You know, he put the team on his back and showed some incredible stuff.
8:42And we really didn't see even one game last year that matched that performance.
8:46So I'm definitely hoping he can rebound. But, you know, at least from a physical traits, this is what you bet on.
8:52Absolutely. So we'll see what happens here in 2026.
8:55If he can continue to elevate his draft stock a little bit.
8:58Another guy who's almost certainly a lock to be a first round pick, if not the number one overall pick next year
9:04is Arch Manning, quarterback out of Texas. Obviously, we've talked a ton about Arch Manning and he is a freak.
9:10And I know, Spencer, this was one of your picks for a lot of the same reasons that I had just talked about with Lenores.
9:17He can do it all and he can really run the ball.
9:20I think people were kind of sneaky or, you know, sleeping on that part a little bit.
9:25Yeah. I mean, this is one when we were talking about, like, who do we put on the show here and who do we highlight?
9:32Arch is one that when I was putting him on this list originally, SC was like, really?
9:37Is Arch actually an alien? Like, I know he's, you know, got the pedigree, but is alien?
9:42And I think that people would be surprised to learn, like, obviously he has the size.
9:46He's 6'4", 220. I mean, that's prototypical size. But I think they'd be really surprised to learn that he ran last year.
9:52He was the fastest clock GPS time out of any quarterback, all of them in college football.
9:57That includes Lenora Sellers. That includes Kamaru Taylor. That includes all of these guys.
10:01I mean, I could list literally every quarterback in college football.
10:04He had a faster clock GPS time. It was 21.7 miles an hour.
10:08It was in the bowl game there. He just took off straight up the middle.
10:12Didn't put any moves on anyone because he didn't have to.
10:15He was just gone. Guys were diving at his feet and he was gone.
10:19This is, like, the rushing upside with Arch is genuinely special.
10:22I mean, it's kind of, you know, he could definitely learn, you know, there's some mechanical issues.
10:27He still almost looks like he's getting a feel for his body when he's moving, which, you know, he still is a young kid.
10:33He didn't have a lot of starter experience and he played really bad high school competition.
10:38That was something we kind of expected. You know, Sark didn't get him up to what he needed to to start last year.
10:44We saw those mechanical issues. But the arm talent, the speed, the physical traits, all of that is like he is an alien.
10:51He's an absolute freak of nature. And that is going to translate to draft capital when you, especially when you attach it to the name.
10:58So to me, he's about as safe a prospect as you can get when you have the warts because he's going to be insulated on two fronts.
11:05He's got the name. He's got the draft stock and he has the athleticism that even if the arm takes a couple
11:11of years to catch up, which he showed that he can make adjustments in season.
11:15He can learn that second half of the season was much, much better.
11:19And again, that bowl game was it was a really good game from him.
11:23So these are the types of things that looking forward, you really hope he carries that into this year and can boost that draft stock.
11:30But obviously, I'll turn it over to my host here, Dustin.
11:33Hey, you said everything I was about to say, Spencer.
11:36I always go back to that bowl game and it was like he really started to put it on it.
11:41And as for as much shit as I've given Arch Manning and Sarkisian for not properly developing him while he was behind
11:48Quinn Ewers, you really started to see that jump.
11:50And like you said, he's he's insulated on two fronts and it's going to directly translate to your dynasty rosters.
11:56When he gets on there, you want a mobile man and you want a guy, a freak of nature like that.
12:02Like those are some insane speed scores. So that's the stuff that gets us exciting, which is why my next choice, I
12:08think, is a little surprising for some people. Like my guy is Austin Simmons, the transfer quarterback to Mizzou now coming from Ole Miss.
12:14And when you think of Austin Simmons, I don't think you typically think of like this physical athletic freak.
12:20But his mind is a weapon, too. And we've always preached on here.
12:23Those mental traits should be highlighted as much as the physical traits.
12:27And this is a guy that reclassified two classes ahead.
12:30He threw over 94 miles per hour in baseball on his fastball pitch.
12:33And I mean, so he's got the cannon of an arm.
12:36You know that he's smart. And this is a guy that Lane Kiffin last year was all in on.
12:42Like, by all accounts, he was very excited to see him.
12:45And in looking back at the film, Spencer, I don't think that he played terribly.
12:49It's just that when he went down week two, Trinidad obviously came in.
12:52And he showed up and showed up, man. Like he didn't give up his opportunity once he got it.
12:58And I'm not going to fault Austin Simmons too much for that.
13:01That would have been his first year as a starter.
13:04So you expect to see some of those lumps.
13:06But he's going into a really good situation, I think, at Mizzou where they're going to have a decent offensive line.
13:12They're going to have a good running game, especially when Ahmad Hardy comes back in that offense.
13:17And, you know, I don't like the weapons too much.
13:20But I think that he's in a good enough situation where he knows that it's his team, right?
13:25He was named starter almost immediately once he got there to the team, which was really nice to see that the coaching staff has that confidence in him.
13:33And so he's a guy that I think the community after you like it, he's a little bit of a post-hype sleeper,
13:39in my opinion, especially potentially being able to enter the 2027 draft class.
13:42And I think that if he goes out and puts out a decent season, he's going to be one of those names that we start to see rise.
13:50You know, every year we have these guys that rise, seemingly come out of nowhere.
13:54And I think that he's got a good shot as anyone to really elevate that.
13:59Chris, I know that you weren't necessarily as high on Austin Simmons as I was, but go ahead and give me your
14:05thoughts on him as a prospect, potentially entering the 2027 draft.
14:08Yeah, it's almost like you just got to completely rewrite the script, right?
14:12Like it's blank slate at this point. He's transferred.
14:14He got ran out of town by Trinidad. And that's not a knock on him.
14:18Trinidad's been really special. So he's got a new opportunity here in front of him.
14:22He was pretty handily wrapped up the quarterback battle early this offseason.
14:26Matt Zollers is lurking, though. So there is a little bit of pressure.
14:29He's still going to have another decent quarterback kind of lurking behind him.
14:33So if he does have another early injury, you never know.
14:36He might lose the reins once again. But at this point, it's kind of like a fresh start.
14:41He's got a good head coach that knows how to properly develop these quarterbacks.
14:45I think that he's going to make an impact for himself pretty early on and hopefully stick to the game plan here
14:51and play a whole season out as the starter.
14:54But like I said, it's a little nerve wracking.
14:56However, at this point, you can get him pretty cheap in Debbie, right?
15:00There's a lot of opportunity here to just go out and get him, have him as a throw in in a different trade or something like that.
15:07It hasn't been great, but we haven't seen a ton of him either at the NCAA level.
15:12So I think that if he can come out and do things right this year, it's wheels up for him.
15:18He's got an opportunity to shine at this point.
15:20Yeah. And I mean, this is this guy, Austin Simmons.
15:23The reason why we had him on this list is exactly what Dustin said.
15:27I you know, this was one of my picks for the article.
15:30And I literally said the reason why is is that mind.
15:33I mean, this is a guy who started college at 17 years old.
15:37He graduated at 19. I mean, that's I mean, that's absurd.
15:40He finished college in two years and it was with flying colors.
15:43You know, this was an honors level kid who got there.
15:47He also was that two sport athlete. A lot of what I looked for when I was looking for my guys was did they excel at multiple sports?
15:54Because to do that takes a special kind of athlete.
15:57And he actually was able to, as Dustin alluded to, play baseball at the D1 level.
16:02He was a relief pitcher for Ole Miss as well.
16:04Top 95 with the fastball. And it translates to the to the gridiron.
16:08Now, he had nearly 60 mile an hour track to throwing below with the with the football, which I mean, that's near
16:14your top like NFL throwing velocity is almost about 60 miles an hour.
16:18I think Josh Allen is one of the tops with 62 miles an hour.
16:22You know, like in that mid range, we're talking about like this is like my home's level velocity for Austin Simmons.
16:28So whether he can get the touch, start to read the field, make make those types of plays.
16:33That's all sort of how you turn that below into real results.
16:36And that's sort of the next step for him.
16:39But in terms of his freakish athleticism, this is why he makes the list.
16:42And before I we move off of quarterbacks, I just want to pitch the article itself.
16:47You know, this is available now on the Debbie Dojo Patreon, which which is awesome.
16:51It's either in our twelve dollar tier. You can get access to all of our guides or five dollars, I believe seven and a half dollars on iOS.
16:59You can walk out with it and it's yours.
17:01All proceeds from this as well as proceeds this month on that Debbie Planet Patreon are going to Wilson's disease.
17:07It's it's a very rare illness. It's something that are obviously now are all our co-worker Tom Harvey, his son struggles with.
17:13And it's just it's very underfunded, under researched. And we want to make sure that it goes out to somebody and and
17:19basically the research to help that person we need.
17:22We're not going to Matt Miller you. I promise we'll do it.
17:25You want to see receipts? We will show you those receipts.
17:28So we plan on doing a charity run like this every few months here to kind of make sure that we're we're giving back.
17:35That Debbie gives back is sort of what we're running with this.
17:38But that's this month. And this guide goes towards that.
17:41So but with that, one of the other guys on the list was yours, Dustin Reed Harris.
17:46I'm going to let you take this away. Yeah, this is a guy that I was really excited to see on the
17:52list because he's been a guy who's been very interesting to me just because of his his size profile, right?
17:58Six foot five. Dude's a freak out there. And I've always been a little bit historically.
18:02I've been a bit of the sizes when it comes to these wide receivers.
18:06And when I see a guy of that size show a little faster game speed than I would have anticipated, a guy
18:12who's running those in breaking routes, who's stretching out wide, right?
18:15Has his elbows over his head and catching at its highest point.
18:19Like he's doing a lot of real wide receiver stuff that gets me very excited.
18:23And we all know that his environment there at Boston College, where he transferred from, wasn't the best.
18:28And now going to Arizona State, there's real opportunity with Jordan Tyson leaving.
18:31Of course, we got Omarian Miller there who transferred as well.
18:34But anybody that's in this Kenny Dillingham offensive system, I get excited about because I do believe in that system and that
18:41coaching staff to get the best out of these guys.
18:43And he's a guy that I think with Cutter Bowie there now transferring to can really excel in the intermediate level of the field specifically.
18:50And he's going to be able to bail out the quarterback in those contested catch situations.
18:55Just a guy that I'm very, very excited for because of that opportunity.
18:59Now, I'm going to let you, Spencer, highlight some of the freakish natures aside from his height that you highlighted in his article.
19:05Yeah, I mean, and Reed Harris is a guy who we didn't necessarily have a lot available in terms of the athletic measurements.
19:11But as he said, 6'5", 217. What we were able to find is he's projected based off of his track times about
19:18a 445 to a 4540, which for a guy who's 6'5", 217.
19:21I mean, we're talking about, you know, upper 99th percentile size speed score there.
19:25The projected vertical was also north of 36 inches, which doesn't sound like a lot.
19:29But for a guy, again, 6'5", 217, that's a big boy moving like that.
19:33So, you know, he almost has that like high level freakish quality to pair with the size that, you know, if he
19:39was 5'10", 180, we might be like, eh, you know.
19:42But at that size, that's really incredible stuff. And that plays at the next level.
19:46You know, this was one of Tom's guys who he wrote about.
19:49And he mentioned a lot about his deep ball tracking.
19:52You know, the ball's in the air. And BC, you know, I was covering BC a couple years ago.
19:57And we were, you know, obviously they're just near where I live.
20:01They're about an hour from me if I drive my normal speed, probably an hour and a half for us normal folk.
20:07And Reed Harris, like you watch him play. And the ball is coming out of the quarterback's hands.
20:12And it is way off target as it happens at BC.
20:15And he's adjusting to it before he, like, he glances over, sees the ball and starts to adjust, putting his head back
20:21down to get to where the spot is. Comes back up and then comes down with the ball.
20:26And that sort of football intelligence, knowing where the ball is going to land, that gets you excited about a guy like
20:32Reed Harris, how he can translate to the next level.
20:35I mean, you know, we're talking about in 2027, it's obviously a loaded wide receiver class.
20:40So this might be one of the guys that you can target in your third, fourth round who would normally be in your second round.
20:47But it's very Alec Pierce like how he operates, I would say.
20:50Yeah, and hopefully he can develop a little bit more on the route running as we've seen recently out of Alec Pierce
20:56as well, because I want to see a little bit more than him just being a deep threat.
21:01And like you said, I believe in the Kenny, Kenny Dillingham system.
21:05Obviously, he's one of the guys that they brought in to try to replace some of that Jordan Tyson production down there in Arizona State.
21:12But when you look at his career for Bill O'Brien up there at Boston College, 20.4 yards per reception.
21:17That is impressive stuff. Right now, get up to 15% off Select Storage Solutions.

22:00There's no place like Chrome. Check responses set up required, compatibility, and availability varies 18+.
22:04You know, year over year, the yards and touchdowns weren't super high, but 20.4 is a hell of a lot for yards per reception.
22:11So exciting stuff for him moving forward. Another guy who's got a little bit of long speed and something of a deep
22:17threat himself is Mike Matthews, who is the guy that I selected.
22:20I feel like people hate Mike Matthews, and I've been grabbing a ton of him, especially in C2C and CFF this year.
22:26Just because he is like in a best ball type format, he's going to have those big weeks.
22:31He's going to be able to show and prove.
22:34You know, he had a true freshman season that he was kind of behind a whole lot of other guys.
22:39Last year, he was kind of like the third receiver in that Tennessee room.
22:43But he really looked good when he had opportunities to shine.
22:46And now there's going to be a lot more weight on his shoulders here this year.
22:516'1", 198 pounds. His career, he's got 60 receptions, 903 yards, and six touchdowns, which is a 15.1 yards per reception.
22:57And he's got a 1.75 yards per route run.
22:59So he's got some room to evolve, obviously. I don't think he needs to be typecast as strictly a deep threat.
23:05I think that he can improve a little bit more.
23:08He was a top 50 prospect coming out of high school.
23:11And I think a lot of people are forgetting that.
23:14And it's only been two years, man. There's still some room for growth here, especially now.
23:18And this is the year. It's push coming to shove, right?
23:21Because he's going to have a lot more opportunity this year.
23:24The big question mark, and I know that you're going to bring this up, Dustin, is he's going to have a true freshman thrown to him.
23:32So what's that going to translate to? In the SEC, there's not a lot of room for error, right?
23:37So you're not going to get too many shots if the true freshman isn't working out over there.
23:42But I like the opportunity for him to grow a little bit.
23:45I think his ceiling is a bit capped as far as at the NFL level.
23:49He might be more typecast into that flanker type role.
23:52But if he can prove a little bit more, especially in contested catches, I think that's going to go a long way
23:58to making him into a true NFL talent, as opposed to just a guy who can flash occasionally here on the NCAA gridiron.
24:05I would also like to see him work on drops a little bit.
24:08And I've softened my take on drops over the years.
24:11But he still drops the ball way too often, especially when you're getting the ball to him deep downfield.
24:17You want to make those things stick. You don't want them to be the splash plays that turn into nothing.
24:22Yeah. Yeah. Chris, I love how well you know me, that that's the first thing that I was going to talk about
24:28was the incoming freshman quarterback throw into him, right?
24:31The good news is the Tennessee system isn't that complicated for these quarterbacks.
24:34I think that they do a good job of making it easy for these guys to see the field.
24:40And I won't get into the weeds and all of that, but this guy is absolutely an athletic freak.
24:45And I've been a little higher on Mike Matthews than probably some because I remember seeing him in basketball, man.
24:51This dude was dunking as like an eighth grader when he was five foot nine.
24:55Kid is an amazing athlete and he can get up there.
24:58And Spencer, you can help me confirm this, but I believe if memory serves me correct, he had a verified laser 40
25:04time of like four, four, four, eight, something along those lines.
25:07I know you guys highlighted it in the article and unfortunately I'm not able to show it on my screen.
25:13So you can help me verify that, but dude's absolutely an athletic freak alien out there.
25:17So I get pretty excited about him. So why don't you go ahead and tell me why you guys were excited about him?
25:24Yeah, this was one of my picks for the article as well.
25:27And you're exactly right. I was really excited to highlight him.
25:30The basketball background, his father actually played semi-professional overseas and he himself was recruited to play D1 for all of those abilities.
25:36He obviously ended up going the football route, but that might've been why he needed to, you know, he just barely missed year one zero.
25:43I think it was like by six yards. He missed that year one zero, which, you know, some of that comes down to the Tennessee system.
25:50They just have a plethora of options and they run out some weird stuff.
25:54But I think also translating from being a true two sports star, somebody who was specialized in both and recruited to play
26:00both kind of made him walk a little bit closer to needing to get polished when he moved into the college space.
26:07But that 40 time you're talking about is actually a hand time 4.4 flat.
26:11So that was coming out as a recruit. He had that time.
26:14So, I mean, we're talking about like, if you look at the a hundred meter, it's nothing special.
26:19But if you look at the 40 time that was actually timed by multiple scouts, 4.4 flat was the consistent reading across the board.
26:26Some were slower, some were higher, but that was sort of your, your midline.
26:30So we'll take that as close to fact. And then he also had a 5.10 high jump, which that, I mean, that shows he's got hops.
26:37But yeah, as you said, that deep ball tracking is special.
26:40The drops he does need to work on. I did, I did a deep dive on him as well, where a lot
26:46of that came down to concentration and he did struggle with contact.
26:49So that, that's the kind of stuff that he needs to clean up going into year three now is getting that physicality
26:56up, like all around, I think both mental with the physicality and literal physical with the physicality.
27:00But this is a, you know, he's a, he's a great guy, but this, this sort of ends our wide receiver segment.
27:06And I'm going to do this one. I chose just for my boy, Chris here.
27:11We got Penn state's newest running back, Carson Hanson coming over from Iowa state is so many of those Penn state players.
27:17Now we're from following their coach over there. We call it Iowa state 2.0, but Carson Hanson is, you know, the reason
27:23why he made this list and I'll let you guys talk ball.
27:26I'll bring the numbers here because I don't think we think of him as this freak athlete.
27:31I, you know, we see Carson Hanson. We think of him as he's a big, big running back.
27:36He's solid, you know, but he's fine. But if you look at the actual like verified numbers on him, which there are plenty, he's six to 220 pounds.
27:44So we're right off the bat. He's a big kid.
27:47I mean, he was actually an athlete coming out as a recruit playing both sides.
27:51And there was talk about whether he would be a linebacker or running back.
27:55He obviously went the running back route, but in that recruiting process, we got a 4.45 verified 40 time.
28:00So that was laser timed verified speed, 37 and a half inch vertical, a 4.09 shuttle.
28:05And that was the most impressive number to me because that's one of those ones that translates really well to the lateral agility on the field.
28:12But also that gets us to, if you love Math Bomb and his RAS scores, a 9.98.
28:17So that's a upper one percentile athlete. Like we're talking about an elite athlete at the highest level going into that Penn State backfield.
28:23So Chris, I'm going to toss this over to you.
28:26Tell me if you're excited about him and what you've seen about him.
28:30Yeah, I'm certainly excited. I mean, he's a fun guy to watch.
28:33You know, he was able to kind of hold off Abu Sama, who's another guy that I'm kind of high on, who ended up transferring to Wisconsin.
28:41But, you know, he kind of took the lead role there in Iowa State the last couple of years.
28:46We highlighted them last year before the Farmageddon game.
28:48So about a year ago, we were talking about him and he's just a nice thumper.
28:53I'd like to see a little bit more out of him in the receiving game.
28:57He doesn't do terrible in the receiving game, but they don't give him a lot of opportunities.
29:02And I'm not really sure that they're going to continue to do that.
29:06Obviously, it's the same coaching staff that he had over at Iowa State.
29:09It's now with him here at Penn State. And they also made a point to go out and get James Peoples and retain Quentin Mitchell as well.
29:17So there's going to be a little bit of a three-headed monster, I think, back there.
29:21But I fully expect Carson Hansen to be the lead dog and to be the guy who's getting the most touchdowns and the most opportunity in general.
29:29So we love the running game. It's a new staff, but we love the running game at Penn State.
29:34And as soon as he gets going and gets some of those touchdowns, he's going to make that crowd go wild.
29:40And it's going to be fun to watch, man.
29:42I think he's going to be a great fit there.
29:45It's just more about how much of the opportunity is he going to be able to carve out?
29:50Can he hold off some of these other guys?
29:53They're going to want to keep him fresh. So there's going to be a cap to how much of the share they're giving him.
29:59But if he's getting going, they're not going to let him get off the field.
30:04So I'm excited for him. We can move on, Chris.
30:06Let's go ahead to Chris Johnson Jr., who's the running back that you wanted to highlight.
30:11And he's another guy that I don't really have too much info on.
30:15But you hear that name and you just think speed.
30:17Of course, even though he's not actually Chris Johnson's son, CJ2K, you hear the name and it's ringing bells in your head, right?
30:24What I'm excited about with him, he hasn't really had a ton of opportunity, even at SMU.
30:29He's only had 67 rushes last year for 479 yards and five touchdowns.
30:32But he was able to do a lot with those.
30:35So out of those 67 rushes, he had 14 missed tackles for us, which is pretty impressive.
30:40And his breakaway percentage was 57.4. So that's exciting stuff.
30:42And that's the reason why Clemson has tabbed him to come in to the backfield, where we had expectations on some guys
30:49like Gideon last year, and they didn't really pan out.
30:51They could certainly use a guy to solidify that running back room in Clemson.
30:55And I think he's got a good shot to carve out a nice rule there as well.
31:00Much like I just talked about at Penn State, a lot of these schools now and even the NFL, they're using some type of rotational system.
31:07It's rare that we see a true workhorse. So it'll be really more about how much of this offense can he carve out for himself.
31:14But he's decent in the receiving game as well.
31:17He had 17 receptions for 180 yards and a touchdown last year.
31:20So how creative can Dabo get with him? And how are they going to use him?
31:25I'm excited to see him. But some of those metrics are really standing out for me.
31:29And obviously, Clemson had a really down year last year.
31:32So hopefully he could come in. And there's a reason that they shored up backfield with this guy, even with his limited attempts at SMU last year.
31:39Yeah. And this was a guy, obviously, his father was actually a wide receiver at Oregon State.
31:44So not to be confused, a different Chris Johnson.
31:47But his father was incredibly fast and well thought of as a receiver while he was at Oregon State.
31:52But the speed does remind you of Chris Johnson Sr., who, well, not senior, I guess, Chris Johnson, the CJ2K there.
31:58You know, because we were talking about that speed background with Chris Johnson here.
32:02It was a 10-4-5 100 meter time, which is blazing in high school.
32:05I mean, that's elite speed. It translates to, you know, roughly like a 4-3 to 4-3-5 when you're talking about combine time.
32:12When on the field, though, when the pads are on, a little extra weight, he also had a verified 22.3 mile an
32:18hour in-game speed, which was the second fastest recorded time in all of college football last year.
32:23So, I mean, that speed is elite. You know, he's got a lot to work on.
32:27You kind of hope he can break into the Clemson room.
32:30There's a reason he's been transferring from place to place to place.
32:33He's got some fine technical elements of the game he has to work on.
32:37Of patience, reading defenses, power, all of that needs to work.
32:40But speed is something you can't teach. And it just plays.
32:43Dustin, I know you said you didn't have a ton on this guy, but if you have any thoughts here on him, I'll give you the floor here.
32:51Yeah, I'm just thinking about the room. And I know that he's a guy that came in with a lot of work.
32:57I know that Dabo Sweeney publicly challenged him, I believe, at the start of spring, saying, like, I need to see more
33:04from him in this, this, and that. And you have a guy like Gideon Davidson, who I wasn't the highest on, but
33:10I think that he's a good enough back. And he has these guys that he has to get over.
33:15So he's a guy that I'm a little concerned with his Debbie value as far as, like, making it to the NFL
33:21and what his potential draft cap could look like.
33:24But like you said, you can't teach speed. And if he is able to put those things together, you know, there's a chance there.
33:30And that speed aspect is always very tantalizing. And these coaching staffs always want to find the best way to utilize that.
33:37So he's someone I'm going to go back and watch just because I'm curious.
33:40Like, like, I'll admit when, when I first heard the name going back to last season, I thought I just assumed it
33:47was Chris Johnson's son, the CJ2K, which by the way, we've heard about his battle with ALS and we are wishing him all the best.
33:54And if you would like to donate to that cause as well, that's another fine charity for you to invest in.
33:59But moving along here, the guy that I chose for the tight end position, which is a position that we don't highlight
34:06very often in Debbie, just because of how murky the position is.
34:09Right. We've talked about it a lot, but I did promise you the listener that we would talk about some of these guys.
34:15And the 2027 class has two very, very exciting prospects.
34:18And first one I wanted to highlight tonight was trade as green.
34:22And we've talked about a lot about some big guys out there.
34:25This dude is six foot seven. And he's, he's got that lean muscle look.
34:29Like he looks like this slender yet yoked up wide receiver out there.
34:32And you've really seen him utilized like that as this, this weapon out there that you could put out in the slot.
34:39And we've talked to ad nauseum too, about wide receivers that are running from the slot.
34:43That's a fantasy gold mine. And look last year, although like the, the total numbers in terms of like receiving yardage weren't
34:49the best, I believe he had 430 some yards, but he had seven touchdowns because that's where he's truly a weapon.
34:55That's truly where he can elevate and show that alien nature at six foot seven, you know, on the fade routes in
35:01the corner of the end zone, dude just excels.
35:04He goes up there and the poor defenders never even have a chance just because of the size and his ability to
35:10climb that proverbial ladder and attack the ball at its highest point.
35:13You really see it and get his feet down, getting two feet down pretty consistently, which I love to see.
35:19But Spencer, you highlighted that you like to look at these dual sport athletes and that's what this dude was doing on the hardwood, right?
35:2627 points and 11 rebounds. He averaged as a junior in high school.
35:29And he also played for the LSU basketball team there too.
35:33And look, there's plenty of highlights out there of him doing a dunk out there for LSU, man.
35:38This dude is just so much fun to watch.
35:40And I know as a USC fan, when Lane Kiffin was our head coach, he was looking for a mismatched tight end like this.
35:47Going back to when he recruited Michael Trigg, I think that that was always the vision that he had was somebody that
35:53he could really utilize, move around the formation and really attack in the red zone.
35:57So I love this pairing with a guy like Sam Levitt that's going to say F it and just kind of chuck it up for him.
36:04But I'm ready to see LSU make some magic.
36:07So he's a guy that I'm very, very excited about.
36:10And I think that this year we could really, really see everything just work together for him.
36:14Yeah, without a doubt, I think that he's basically a lock to be a first round guy, right?
36:20He's going to be the first tight end taken off the board next year, I believe.
36:24And spoiler alert, we're going to be talking about Jamari Johnson next, who I think might have the higher ceiling as a fantasy asset.
36:31But trade as does everything well, he's a better blocker than Johnson.
36:34You know, you mentioned it, Dustin, he's basically a slot guy when he's not lining up in line.
36:39But he he run blocks well, he pass blocks well, and he's that lovely, lovely red zone threat with that big frame.
36:45So I'm excited to see what happens for him this year, especially.
36:49But I'm sure he's going to go extremely high.
36:51He should be a lock for the first round.
36:54Yeah. And he he was one. I mean, like this is one of those no brainers to put on the list at six, seven to 40.
37:01He's got over an 80 inch wingspan, which puts them right up at the top of the list of all time tight end measurements.
37:08He leaps out of like he did everything. I mean, everything.
37:11There's nothing that he doesn't do well from an athletic standpoint, except maybe lateral movement.
37:15But at six, seven to 40, that's sort of what you expect.
37:18He moves really well for that size. The I do.
37:21I think the biggest thing with him going into this year is can he stay healthy for a whole season?
37:27He's had a little bit of struggles with that.
37:29It was a knee injury last year. But I mean, this is a guy who comps really well to Kyle Pitts, another
37:35guy who had a knee injury, I think staying off the hardwood, he's fully dedicated to football now.
37:40Maybe he can put on some of that good muscle that'll help him stay healthy for sure.
37:45You know, the LSU released those photos of the team, like their gains pictures, which all the teams have been doing.
37:51And he looks like he's put on at least 10 pounds of good muscle.
37:55So I think that's going to help him in that blocking game.
37:58He really took a step up last year in that department.
38:01It'll help him stay healthy. And ultimately, it'll help him in pretty much all of those contested situations where he excels in, which is going to be great.
38:09You know, I definitely see big things for him this year.
38:12And he's definitely a lock for the first round.
38:15But as Chris mentioned, Jamari Johnson, the other guy on this list, is equally imposing, if not more so.
38:20He's 6'5", 256 pounds, which is just insane. I mean, that's not normal.
38:24And, you know, we saw a lot of him last year, actually, like a surprising amount, given that all the talk with
38:30the town was on another alien in Kenyan Sadiq.
38:32But Johnson just wins in a different way. He's incredibly long.
38:35Another guy over 80-inch wingspan, actually 82 inches, which if that holds up come combine time, would be the second highest wingspan measurement of all time.
38:43His hands are also projected to be around 11 inches.
38:45There was some variance in the measurements when we were finding them between about 10.5 and 11 inches.
38:50But either way, I mean, those are some myths.
38:53And that's sort of how he wins. He is he's a hulking guy who moves surprisingly quick and uses that size to leverage to create space.
39:00And that like we've we've donned him the kaiju of Eugene because he just looks like Godzilla.
39:05Like it's and Oregon, to be clear, had more players on this list than any other team.
39:10And I didn't want to do that because SC, you know, our good friend here is a huge Oregon fan.
39:15And I did not want to gas him up any more than he already is.
39:19But they just they have something in the water there.
39:22But Chris, I know you mentioned I know you mentioned this guy.
39:26So I'll bounce it back to you on this one.
39:28And then and then we can have Dustin close us out.
39:31But Chris, absolutely. Yeah, you know, as you said, he's a specimen.
39:35But what stands out to me is his yards per route run 2.45, which is stellar.
39:39That was fourth in college last year, right behind now Eagle Eli Stowers.
39:43So this is a guy who, as I mentioned, has potentially the highest receiving upside for any of these tight ends coming out next year.
39:50There's a reason he transferred to Oregon, even though he knew he was going to be behind Kenyon Sadiq for a year.
39:56They still got him involved a decent bit last year.
39:59And now he's going to be the go to guy in the red zone.
40:03So I'm very excited to see what happens with him this year, because it's definitely wheels up.
40:08This is why he ended up at Oregon. They do have a lot of freaks in that offense.
40:13And Dan Lanning is a guy who obviously has produced insane offenses recently.
40:16So I'm expecting that Jamari is going to be a key piece of that.
40:20And he also has a good shot to end up as a first round talent if he could really put it all together this year.
40:27I don't think it's that hot of a take that when him and Kenyon Sadiq were on the field last year, he was actually the better tight end.
40:35And clearly Oregon believed in the talent. Like to your point, Spencer, he logged over 600 snaps last season, you know, as
40:41the second tight end in that room. They were able to move around and use him as a weapon.
40:46He, excuse me, sorry. His new offensive coordinator is Drew Merringer, who actually was the positional tight end coach there for Oregon too.
40:53So that's a little nugget that I found that had me really excited about him.
40:57And just the way that Merringer has been talking him up saying like, he's been ready.
41:01Like he was probably a little under recruited there for Louisville.
41:05Obviously he got a chance to be the starter, had the injury, and then he transferred.
41:09But just what he's been able to do on the field with, with a first round talent at tight end playing alongside
41:15him has me very, very excited for his, his draft future there.
41:19He's, he's a guy that a few months ago I was highlighting as a sleeper and he's not a sleeper anymore.
41:24Everybody knows about Jamari Johnson. I'm not even really sure how he was a sleeper at some point, because again, if you
41:31just watch the games, like it was pretty evident that his talent was there, but fellas, we, we made it.
41:36Be sure to tune in with us next week.
41:39Like Chris said, we are going to have Mr.
41:41Will Stone, the founder of Blue Chip joining us.
41:44We're going to be breaking down one of our listener leagues that we did entirely on Blue Chip.
41:49In fact, this was the very first Debbie league that was on Blue Chip.
41:53So we were, we were very excited to do that.
41:55And we were more than excited to get him on.
41:58We've been trying to get him on the show for a while, but we're going to do that.
42:03And then me and Tommy are also going to have Mr.
42:06Eric Proton on the show. We're going to do a midweek recording and I will put it out after that.
42:12So we got, we got some bangers coming for you guys.
42:15So I can't think of a better way to celebrate the beginning of this merger of this partnership than with all the stuff that we have coming.
42:23And of course we got plenty more planned coming too.
42:25We're building up that film room, right? Spencer, we're going to be working on that.
42:30We got some tools coming in. Of course the guys are always killing it with the articles.
42:34So make sure to stay tuned and stay locked in.
