Blake Corum

PositiveProjection13:00

JJ Zachariason says you can 'kind of buy' the prediction that Blake Corum will push for 1,000 yards this season. Last year Corum was efficient (5.1 yards per attempt) and was only 200 yards away from 1,000 despite not being heavily used early in the season. He notes that Corum missed time due to a fumble in a Thursday night game against San Francisco, and if that kind of early-game benching doesn't happen, a scenario with a 50-50 ground split with Kyron Williams is plausible, giving Corum a path to 1,000 yards.

Insight page
PositiveProjection13:00

JJ Zachariason is buying the Athletic's prediction that Blake Corum could push for 1,000 yards this season. Corum was efficient last year with 5.1 yards per attempt and fell just 200 yards short of 1,000 despite limited early-season usage and a fumble in a Thursday night game against San Francisco that resulted in him being benched. Zachariason notes that if that fumble and subsequent benching don't occur, Corum could see a more balanced 50-50 split with Kyron Williams on the ground, increasing his volume. He acknowledges Corum's efficiency and opportunity for increased touches down the stretch.

Insight page

Brandon Aiyuk

NegativeValue34:42

JJ Zachariason has many Brandon Aiyuk teams in best ball but is cutting bait on him. If Aiyuk had his head on straight off the field, he could be a top-100 player going in the 200s; if everything was fine and he went to Washington, he'd probably be drafted around round seven after the Jaguars guys and Brian Thomas Jr., before Cortland Sutton-type players. However, the off-field concerns and year away from football create negative market sentiment that Zachariason is no longer willing to fight against.

Insight page

Charlie Kolar

PositiveProjection15:30

JJ Zachariason is skeptical of the Charlie Kolar receiving threat narrative despite reports and the Athletic ranking him 14th among Chargers' most important players. Zachariason notes Kolar has peaked at 142 receiving yards in his career and worries about his ceiling as a fantasy asset. While he'd consider Kolar in point-per-snap leagues or as a 20th-round best-ball dart, Zachariason expects Kolar to be primarily a streamer in season-long leagues. He cites McDaniel's system preference for blocking tight ends, competition from Aranda Gadsden, David Njoku, and wide receivers, and questions whether a 13-14% target share ceiling is viable for consistent fantasy production.

JJ Zachariason is skeptical of the Charlie Kolar receiving threat narrative despite reports and The Athletic ranking him 14th among Chargers' most important players. He notes Kolar has peaked at 142 receiving yards in his career and worries about his true ceiling. While he'd consider Kolar in point-per-snap leagues or as a 20th-round best-ball dart, he expects Kolar to be primarily a streamer in season-long leagues. The McDaniel offense values blocking and all-around tight end play, and with David Njoku, Aranda Gadsden, and capable wide receivers in the mix, Kolar's target share ceiling is likely only 13-14%, limiting his fantasy upside.

Insight page

Chris Godwin

NegativeBust48:07

Chris Godwin's scary comp is Robert Woods in 2022 (when Woods changed environments and his career declined). Market score does not like Godwin because he was not very good last year. JJ Zachariason has drafted Godwin at times (he was one of his highest roster wide receivers on DraftKings at one point) but only by telling himself a story that last year he was banged up and recovering from injury. The comp is valid as a cautionary tale, though Zachariason doesn't think this is the outcome.

Insight page

Chris Olave

PositiveProjection18:20

JJ Zachariason notes that Chris Alave saw a 'rocket ship' breakout after Rashid Shahid left the Saints, indicating that Shahid had been commanding target share from Alave. This demonstrates Shahid's ability to impact target distribution and supports the view that Shahid is an elite-efficient receiver capable of taking targets from teammates.

Insight page
PositiveProjection20:00

JJ Zachariason notes that Rashid Shahid took away target share from Chris Alave when both were on the Saints last year, and after Shahid left, Alave experienced a 'rocket ship' in production. This demonstrates Shahid's ability to command targets and his efficiency as a receiver, providing context for Alave's improved outlook once Shahid departed.

Insight page

D.J. Moore

NegativeBust41:00

JJ Zachariason warns that DJ Moore has a scary floor despite an interesting ceiling. The scary market score comp is Julio Jones in 2021, who scored 6.4 PPR points per game after switching from Atlanta to Tennessee. DJ Moore is in year nine and switched teams similarly. While Zachariason doesn't think this comp will happen, it serves as a cautionary tale about downside risk, as Julio Jones was a horrible pick that year.

Insight page

Darnell Washington

PositiveUsage12:00

JJ Zachariason notes that Darnell Washington received a report about losing weight and being used more in the offense, which caused his ADP to spike in drafts. Zachariason was planning to draft Washington in round 20 but someone took him in round 19 ahead of him due to the report. This illustrates how day-of reports can cause immediate ADP movement as drafters seek exposure before broader market adjustment.

Insight page

Isaiah Likely

PositiveProjection47:23

JJ Zachariason is drafting Isaiah Likely and thinks he's a really interesting player this year. Likely's scary comp is John Smith in 2021 (when Smith moved to New England and scored 4.5 PPR points per game), but Zachariason notes similarities in overall ADP, positional ADP, and market score. Likely will play slot on slot role, which is a positive indicator Zachariason is tracking for tight ends.

Insight page

Jadarian Price

NegativeProjection6:00

JJ Zachariason cautions against clustering Jadarian Price with front-half first-round running backs; Price was drafted at the end of the first round and historically back-half first-round RBs significantly underperform front-half picks. Zachariason ranks Price closer to second-round RB archetypes like Ramondre Stevenson and Jalen Warren than to year-two backs like Bijan Robinson or Trey Judkins. Price has never demonstrated lead-back production at any level, and reports of other running backs being involved in Seattle's backfield make sense given his profile; Zachariason cautions against using teammate competition as the primary justification for drafting Price rather than his own talent, citing this as a pattern that leads to busts. He describes Price as 'a highly volatile prospect' with a wide range of outcomes and expects his ADP to continue slipping from the end of the fifth round (around pick 61 on DraftKings) into the sixth-round range as reports of backfield competition circulate. Price's scary comp is Caleb Johnson from 2025; both are rookies with similar market scores (Price 24.3 vs. Johnson 20.4), and while a market score of 24 isn't inherently horrible within the top-120 context, it is bad for where Price is being drafted.

Insight page
NegativeProjection6:00

JJ Zachariason cautions against comparing Jadarian Price to first-round running backs like B.J. Robinson or Jameer Gibbs; Price is more comparable to second-round backs like Ramondre Stevenson or Jalen Warren. Market score likes him in the Stevenson/Warren tier rather than the year-two tier (Judkins, Tootin). His DraftKings ADP is around pick 61 (end of fifth round), roughly a full round and a half below where he's being drafted in some circles. However, Zachariason expresses concern about justifying Price's draft value based on teammate competition rather than his own talent; Price has never been a lead back in his career, and reports of committee involvement with George Helani and Emmanuel Wilson create volatility. Zachariason cautions against using the 'who else is going to get the volume' argument repeatedly, as it's a hallmark of running back busts. Market score for Price is 24.3 (compared to Caleb Johnson's 20.4), which is bad for where he's being drafted. Zachariason doesn't expect the Caleb Johnson outcome because Price has better draft capital and the Steelers have shown they can use multiple backs effectively (Jalen Warren, Kenny Gainwell), but cautions against assuming lack of competition means safety. Despite these concerns, Zachariason will target Price when he falls into the Ramondre Stevenson/Jalen Warren tier; in a recent DraftKings draft, Price fell to pick 70 (seventh round), and Zachariason built a strong zero-RB team around him with Jackson Smith-Njigba, creating a Seattle stack. At that price point, he views Price as a value play.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

NegativeRole20:30

JJ Zachariason notes that the Seahawks did not draft Jeremiah Love with the expectation that he would be a dominant force in the backfield, unlike some other recent running back selections. This uncertainty around the running back situation contributes to the possibility that Seattle will need to pass more than they did last year.

Insight page

Khalil Shakir

PositiveProjection36:57

JJ Zachariason would be very hesitant with Khalil Shakir due to his very low average depth of target (ADOT). Analysis of wide receiver hit rates by previous season ADOT from 2014-2025 shows that late-round wide receivers with ADOT below 9 yards underperformed versus ADP expectation by about 0.7 points per game on average. Shakir's low ADOT makes him a risky late-round pick.

Insight page

Kyren Williams

NegativeProjection14:00

JJ Zachariason is 'a little bit lower than the market on Kyron Williams this year' and was also lower on him last year. While Williams played above expectation based on ADP last year, the Rams' offense dominated and Zachariason doesn't believe that level of offensive dominance can be banked on year over year. The backfield split with Blake Corum is expected to be more even, with Williams getting the most important touches (goal line, receiving), but the overall volume picture is less favorable than his ADP suggests. Kyron Williams' scary comp is Alvin Kamara from last year (year nine for Kamara vs. year five for Williams). Overall ADP, positional ADP, and market scores are very similar. The comp speaks to what could happen with Williams in terms of effectiveness and efficiency not necessarily being there, but him being a volume getter, which has been helpful for him in fantasy. Market score does not hate Kyron Williams, which is why Zachariason has been on the edge about putting him as an avoid.

Insight page
NegativeProjection14:00

JJ Zachariason is 'a little bit lower than the market on Kyron Williams this year' and was also lower on him last year. While Williams played above expectation based on ADP last year due to receiving work and goal-line touches, the Rams' offense dominated and that level of offensive dominance cannot be banked on year-over-year. Zachariason expects regression in the Rams' defense and uncertainty in the running back situation to limit Williams' upside relative to his current draft position. Williams' scary comp is last year's Alvin Kamara (year nine); while the NFL years differ (Williams is in year five), their overall ADP, positional ADP, and market score are very similar. However, market score does not hate Kyron Williams, which makes Zachariason uncertain about whether to label him an avoid.

Insight page

MarShawn Lloyd

PositiveValue22:26

JJ Zachariason views Marshawn Lloyd as more undervalued than Jaden Blue despite injury history. Lloyd is a really good one-B backfield prospect who could become the one-A if Josh Jacobs is sidelined. Under Matt LaFleur, Green Bay teams have never ranked outside the top half of the league in touchdowns per game, making Lloyd a good pick in that high-scoring offense.

Insight page
PositiveValue22:26

JJ Zachariason views Marshawn Lloyd as more undervalued than Jaden Blue despite injury concerns. Lloyd is a really good one-B in the backfield with potential to become the one-A if Josh Jacobs is sidelined. Matt LaFleur's teams have never ranked outside the top half of the league in touchdowns per game since he arrived in Green Bay, making Lloyd a good pick at his current cost.

Insight page

Matthew Golden

NegativeBust46:11

Matthew Golden's scary comp is Sky Moore in 2023; both had nearly identical positional ADP (50 vs. 49). Golden has a market score of one (among top-10-round players), while Sky Moore's was zero. Sky Moore scored less than four PPR points per game that year. JJ Zachariason notes this is a floor comp, not a median outcome, but the similarities are striking.

Insight page

Michael Wilson

NegativeValue31:23

JJ Zachariason may still call out Michael Wilson in the avoid section of the guide for season-long leagues, despite being more okay with Cardinals wide receiver picks overall. While Wilson was excellent last year, there's a real chance the gap between him and Marvin Harrison Jr. is smaller in season-long than in best ball, making him less attractive for redraft formats. The gap between Harrison and Wilson has widened to proper levels—now a two-round difference—which reflects the proper valuation difference between the two receivers.

Insight page

Mike Evans

PositiveValue51:48

Mike Evans' scary comp is Alan Robinson as a Ram in 2022 (Robinson was a fourth-round pick in many leagues but scored 8.5 PPR points per game that year). JJ Zachariason says he doesn't genuinely think that's the outcome for Evans and likes him more than DJ Moore. While he hasn't been heavily targeting Evans, he prefers him to DJ Moore given both are aged players who changed teams.

Insight page

Parker Washington

NegativeBust45:03

JJ Zachariason likes Parker Washington and notes he has good peripherals and is in a good system, but his scary comp is Hunter Renfro in 2022. Both had similar overall ADP (69 vs. 71), positional ADP (33 vs. 30), and market scores (37 vs. 43). Renfro had production early then disappeared in year four with six PPR points per game. Britain Covey's recent production suggests Washington could be next on the list.

Insight page

Patrick Mahomes

NegativeValue33:54

JJ Zachariason is a little worried about Mahomes from an ADP standpoint, not from a health standpoint. While Mahomes averaged over 20 points per game last season with good rushing production, he was a pretty mediocre fantasy quarterback for multiple seasons before that. Zachariason is a couple of spots below ADP with Mahomes due to name recognition inflating his draft cost.

Insight page

Trey McBride

NegativeProjection31:23

JJ Zachariason still thinks Trey McBride will be overdrafted in most drafts. Concerns stem from the Cardinals likely running fewer pass plays than last year under new coach and system, which is problematic for McBride since he wasn't phenomenal on a per-route-run basis—he ran hot in touchdowns and ran an obscene amount of routes. The reduction in pass plays could significantly impact his fantasy output.

0:37David Kitchen here, alongside my not-so-scary boss, JJ Zacharyarysen.
0:40I'm not scared. I scare you sometimes. Yeah. Right?
0:42I mean, a few times. What are the scariest things that I've done as your boss?
0:47Oh, man. When you tell me, don't ever mention a Tennessee Titan again on this show.
0:52Yeah. That's an everyday thing at this point. How are you right now?
0:56It's July 1st. For those that are listening, it's July 2nd.
1:00How are you doing right now? I'm good. DraftGuide's moving along.
1:03You know, again, said it last week. Didn't feel as much anxiety.
1:07I feel even better right now about where things are at with it.
1:11So July 10th, make sure you are pre-ordering that thing.
1:14It's going to be good. It's the longest one that I've put together, that we've put together, because obviously you're helping as well.
1:21You know, Gadula is doing some writing in it too.
1:24So I want to shout him out. But yeah, I mean, I threw an analogy today.
1:29I was writing the players to target avoid type section that I do every year.
1:34And I put an analogy in there. This is a little bit of a spoiler for folks who are going to be reading it.
1:42But I put this analogy to start to open things up where I was talking about how before CJ was born, my
1:48wife, my daughter and I went to Disney World.
1:51Okay. And we go to Disney and we enjoy a day at Magic Kingdom.
1:56And in typical, you know, she was my daughter was not even four years old yet.
2:01And in typical form of that aged of a child, the next day we wake up and I say, I ask her,
2:07hey, Avery, what was your favorite part of Magic Kingdom yesterday?
2:11Thinking that she was going to say, you know, she really liked the goofy roller coaster, the barnstormer, or she really liked,
2:18you know, you know, the mine car, the one roller coaster there, because she was just big enough to ride it.
2:24And she says the cotton candy. That was, that was, and at times, at times, I feel like the players, the target
2:31avoid and dart throw section is the cotton candy of the guide where you put all this effort into the other stuff.
2:38And then people just want the cotton candy, which I get.
2:41You just want the cotton candy. But I do think that if you read the other stuff and you dig into the
2:48other stuff, it makes that cotton candy taste even better.
2:51Yeah, you, you understand why that cotton candy tastes so good.
2:55All right. Yeah. Um, cotton candy on the brain.
2:58As far as stuff that we have going on right now, draft guide, July 10th preorder now, or you can become a
3:04member on our new brand new polished website, late round.com.
3:08Also, if you go to late round.com, you can subscribe to the newsletter.
3:12Brandon, I don't want to put too much pressure on him.
3:15But, and I am quoting him. He said, I think this newsletter is going to be really cool if I can stick the landing.
3:23Oh, I didn't even see that. Did he say that today?
3:26Yeah, this is. Oh, I see it right now on this coin.
3:30Yeah. So, uh, so hopefully he sticks that landing.
3:33But, uh, again, we are just, we are, it's, it's just the start of July, but we're, we're running all cylinders.
3:39So, um, as far as rankings are updated on the site rankings updated that yesterday was your rankings day.
3:45Uh, so your rankings day, my draft guide format day.
3:48Uh, and it's all, you know, we're just a well old machine right now.
3:52Some are saying many, some are saying, and I do have to throw out there that literally the day after the draft
3:59guide launches, I'm going on my week long family vacation.
4:02So just so everyone's aware that is happening. Don't worry.
4:06I'll, I'll handle the customer service, uh, all the customer service issues that hopefully don't come up.
4:11Uh, also want to just say thanks to draft Kings.
4:14They have their draft one, get one promotion. Uh, you know, it's best ball.
4:18It's best ball season right now with the month of July, right before your, your main drafts, your home league drafts.
4:25And again, we've talked about it, but we produce some best ball content because it helps with your regular understanding of like your season long leagues.
4:33And they have best ball leagues for as low as a dollar, $3, uh, for a 20 max.
4:39If you, if you want to go there or again, you can get into their $20 million.
4:44It's just crazy saying $20 million contest, a draft one, get one promo code late round link is in the description.
4:50Uh, JJ, you're also doing some live streams as well.
4:54Drafting these teams. I am. I am. Another thing I want to shout out to folks listening is that we're about to
5:00approach a really important part of the season for us as a business.
5:04For late round fantasy football as a business. And if you guys could, if you've enjoyed what we've put out there from
5:11a content perspective, you know, if you're a fan of what we're doing, go out and comment on videos, uh, leave a
5:18review of the podcast and do that kind of stuff because it does help us, especially this time of year.
5:24When we're trying to attract new people to, you know, enter this world of, of what we're doing and be part of this community.
5:32Uh, it's really helpful if you're able to do that.
5:35So, you know, hopefully it doesn't take that much time and it's, uh, it's free to do, uh, but it would really
5:42mean a lot to, to all of us. For sure.
5:45Support means a lot. Uh, we have some stuff to get into, including some news and notes, which really just like, it's kind of just opinions.
5:53And, uh, I do want to play a, uh, a game with you, JJ.
5:57I want to play a game of buy or sell that's coming up in today's news.
6:02Today's fantasy news. All right. First, before we get into that game of buyer sell the price is, I have no clue talking about your dairy and price.
6:11We have, uh, we have just some reports all over the place as far as what his role is going to be this year.
6:19He's also on the cover for a possible scary comp.
6:22So, uh, your take on all this smoke surrounding Jadarian Price and what his role is going to be with Seattle this year.
6:29Yeah. Um, I think that it makes sense as to why reports are kind of all over the place because his profile
6:36was, kind of all over the place in terms of just like us, not really knowing what to expect from him, uh, entering the NFL.
6:44I will say that I think that people are doing a little bit of a disservice by comparing him to other first
6:50round picks when he was the end of the first round.
6:54Uh, and if you look at back half of the first round running backs and how they've performed, you know, rookie year
7:01and et cetera, first three years, definitely, but versus the front half of the first round, front half of the first round
7:08is exponentially better than back half of the first round.
7:11I did an episode of that. Uh, I think this off season.
7:14And so it's really important to, to have that context.
7:17First off, like where Jadarian price was drafted. He is much more like a second round running back than he is a B John Robinson, Jameer Gibbs.
7:26So you can't just, when you're doing analysis and looking at first round running backs, you really shouldn't be clustering all of
7:33them together because there's not the way the draft capital has worked historically.
7:37Now, that being said, I'm not that surprised that we're getting the reports that we're getting where, you know, they're saying that
7:44other running backs might be involved because we don't, we've never seen Jadarian prices like a lead back.
7:49Like it's just not been a thing that, that we've witnessed.
7:53And so anytime that that's the case, you know, it's similar to like Alec Pierce, you know, there was the report last
8:00week we talked about where it was like, oh, he's going to double up his targets.
8:05And it's like, but we've never seen that even dating back to college.
8:09We have no idea if Alec Pierce can be, and I'm not saying that it can't happen.
8:14I'm just saying it's a volatile situation. There's a wide range of outcomes there.
8:18And I feel similarly with Jadarian price, like, like I objectively did not love him as a prospect because of what the
8:25production profile showed, but he didn't look nearly as bad as what people probably would have thought in the zap model because of teammates score.
8:33And because of where Jeremiah love ended up getting drafted.
8:36Uh, and then you look at the Seattle situation right now.
8:39I think the one other caveat and thing that I would throw out there for people who are, uh, you know, buying
8:46into price right now is when you have to use teammate competition to justify drafting a player and not the player's talent himself.
8:53That's when you really run into issues. I've been saying that with Javante Williams and how I don't want to be super,
9:00like I drafted him this morning, Javante Williams, but like, I don't want to be so, so overweight because that is the
9:07standard running back dead zone type archetype of player that busts are the player or that don't live up, you know, that
9:14don't have the, a high enough ceiling. They're the players who we look at and we're like, well, who else is going to get the volume?
9:22I think Javante Williams is a little bit different because the offense is so good, but I feel that way with like
9:29David Montgomery to a degree, you know, it's like, well, who else is going to touch, touch the ball in the back?
9:36Well, Woody Marks was okay enough last year, but you can't make those arguments.
9:40It's not smart to make those arguments over and over and over again.
9:44When we've, there are things that are going to happen that we don't see happening all the time.
9:50You can sit here and say George Helani sucks.
9:53Emmanuel Wilson sucks, but you don't know for sure that Jadarian Price is excellent and that he's so much better than those players.
10:00You don't know. And so I do think that you have to have a little bit more of an open mind when you're approaching things that way.
10:08I will say though, like on DraftKings right now, I posted a draft that I did yesterday where I went kind of
10:15zero RB and the team ended up being awesome on paper.
10:19And part of the reason was because Jadarian Price fell to the 705 to me.
10:23And I had Jackson Smith and Jigba on that team.
10:26So it was a nice Seattle stack. In that case, yes.
10:30Like I said it in the market score episode with Jadarian Price, I think.
10:34But market score, for instance, with Jadarian Price is a little bit low on him, but it likes him more in that
10:41like Ramondre Stevenson, Jalen Warren tier, as opposed to the year two guys that he often gets drafted around.
10:47I think that's really the, like, if you want to think about the way that I'm viewing him and my sentiment around
10:54him, I'll get him when he falls. If he's in that Ramondre range, you know, I'm high on Ramondre and Jalen Warren.
11:01I think that they're both really like solid middle round running back gets right now.
11:05But I think he belongs at least closer. Like, I have him ranked ahead of those guys, but I think he belongs
11:12closer to those players than he does the Judkins, Tootin, even Travion maybe to a degree, although I'm not buying heavily into him.
11:19You know, that the year two running back tier.
11:22And so, yeah, I mean, like, I think these reports are pretty valid just given what we're looking at with Jadarian Price.
11:29He's just a highly volatile prospect. He was whenever he was drafted.
11:33Right now, his DK ADP is around the end of the fifth round, like 61 or so.
11:38So you got him a full round and a half, like you said, in that other tier.
11:43And I think with these reports, we might even begin to see his ADP continue to slip into that range.
11:50We're going to. We're going to. And like, that's the thing when like the day of reports, like Darnell Washington, I had
11:56a Roger stack that was building earlier today. I got Jeremy Bernard, you know, it was like a late kind of desperation type stack.
12:04I got Jeremy Bernard and I was like, oh, I'll just get Darnell Washington in round 20, you know, because he doesn't get drafted like every draft.
12:12And someone took him in round 19 ahead of me.
12:15Like I was actually going to get him actually in round 19.
12:19Yeah. You know, and someone draft him ahead just because there's a report that he's lost weight and they're going to use him a little bit more.
12:28And it seems like like in that window when the reports come out, that's when ADP and certain drafts will move like a ton.
12:35Yeah. Because you're like, I want to get it.
12:38I want to get some exposure to this guy.
12:41Yeah. Before the movement happens. But I, I think that there is probably a little bit of a boomerang that happens where
12:47like price maybe in that 24 hour window where I drafted him in the seventh round was becoming a seventh round pick.
12:54But I would imagine, you know, his ADP still settles in like the mid six.
12:59Okay. Okay. Next three questions. A little buyer sell based on some of the things we've been reading about.
13:05We talked about Blake Corum and the prediction that 50-50 kind of split.
13:09He's going to have with Kyron Williams. Nate Atkins with the athletic also said that he could push for a thousand yards this season.
13:16Buying or selling that JJ? I mean, I think you can kind of buy it.
13:21Last year he was really efficient to be fair.
13:24He had a 5.1 yards per attempt average, but he wasn't that far.
13:28He's like 200 yards away from hitting a thousand yards.
13:31And that was in an environment where it wasn't like he was being used down the stretch early on in the season.
13:38It took a little bit for the Rams to really get him going.
13:42And there was that one game also where he fumbled early that Thursday night game.
13:47And then Kyron came in. I think it was the San Francisco.
13:50Was it the, was it the Kendrick Bourne game?
13:53Our friend at front of the show, Kendrick Bourne.
13:56It might've been that game where he went off, you know, and had like, you know, 11 catches or something.
14:02And just with Mac Jones. But regardless, Blake Corum fumbled.
14:05And then, and then, and then he had, he missed a block and he was just done for the, for the day.
14:12Right. Like if that kind of thing doesn't happen early on in a game, you know, I mean, that's one full game
14:19basically of like no Blake Corum production. Right. And so if that doesn't happen.
14:23Yeah. I think that we could see a scenario where this is much more of a 50, 50 split on the ground.
14:30And we saw that a little bit down the stretch where Kyron Williams is getting the, the most important touches for fantasy.
14:37You know, the goal line stuff, the receiving stuff.
14:40I know that you guys are probably sick of hearing it, but I'm a little bit lower than the market on Kyron Williams this year.
14:48I was last year too. I don't even think that the read that I had last year with Kyron was wrong because
14:55of the way that offense was split and how they did split the backfield.
14:59He did play a little bit above expectation based on his ADP.
15:03So it was an L from like a results standpoint, but that offense also dominated.
15:07And I don't know that we can just bank on that year over year.
15:12And so, you know, yeah, I mean, I think that the Corum factor is important.
15:16I think there is a chance, some chance that he gets a thousand yards.
15:21If we're talking total yards here. Okay. All right.
15:24This one scares me just a little bit on, I guess it's on brand for the scary theme that we have for today.
15:31Are we drinking the Charlie Kalar Kool-Aid? Yeah. That people think he's going to be a big receiving threat in the offense.
15:38Yes. So, and not even like, or maybe just a receiving threat.
15:41You know, he is kind of more in line with this, what they want to do in the offense.
15:47And then the athletic had Zane Danani posted the top 20 players, top 20 most important chargers.
15:53And Kalar comes at number 14, has a blurb about his pass catching ability.
15:57Guess who was not in that top 20? Aranda Gadsden?
16:00Aranda Gadsden. Yeah. Aranda Gadsden. Wasn't in there. And we've had, we've heard some, you know, some talk about how poor that the Gadsden blocking is.
16:08So, are you drinking any of the Kalar Kool-Aid?
16:11I'm drinking the, he's going to play a lot of snaps Kool-Aid.
16:15You know, if you're in a point per snap league, I'd probably scoop up Kalar.
16:19But I, I do worry about a dude who has peaked at 142 receiving yards throughout his career.
16:25I mean, he played a full 17 last year.
16:28Now, obviously he's played in Baltimore. He's been buried a little bit.
16:32I would be like from a regular season long perspective, you know, best ball.
16:36If you want to throw a 20th round dart, fine.
16:39Like, I'm not, I'm not going to fault you for that.
16:42Especially if it's a 410 and build in season long.
16:46I have a very hard time thinking he's going to be anything but a streamer, you know, like just someone that you're,
16:52you're picking up because Gadsden's still going to run routes.
16:56You know, David and Joku is still probably going to get some love and they do have wide receivers that are capable.
17:02And at some point, and you know, Martin Hampton out of the backfield, at some point we got to be like, like,
17:09what is the true ceiling for a player like this?
17:12You know, like what is the true target share ceiling?
17:15Like 13%, 14% is that viable as a streamer?
17:18Sure. Like you can have spiked weeks and you can find the end zone in a good offense.
17:24And we want to attach our players, you know, our tight ends to good offenses, but I don't know, man.
17:30I think that, that the reason he got paid the way he did in the way that we should be viewing him
17:37is that he's a good all around tight end.
17:40And in this McDaniel system, he likes having, you know, pieces that can block and can help on that front because oftentimes they will be heavy.
17:48Like they'll have, I mean, they use a fullback a lot, but there's not as many wide receivers on the field for, you know, within this McDaniel offense.
17:57So I get it from a real football perspective.
17:59I just don't think that it's going to be as fantasy relevant as maybe some others do.
18:05In that same article, there was a lad McConkie where he talks about how he's just the number one and going to
18:12do a lot of pre-snap motion type stuff. Kind of the stuff that we have been hoping for with any sort of McConkie bags.
18:19All right. Shahid breakout player, big time player, I think is what BTP stands for.
18:24We've talked about it a few times on the show.
18:27You buying or selling that he's going to be a big time player for the Seattle offense.
18:32Didn't you, didn't you write the headline here? And you're saying you think BTP is big time player?
18:38Yeah. Well, then I'm like, at first I said, what'd I say at first?
18:42I don't know. A breakout player. And I'm like, there's no T.
18:46And I was like, oh, okay. No, because it's BTP.
18:49I think Shahid is definitely the second best wide receiver on that team.
18:53Like I, like this is a, when they traded for Shahid, it was over for Torrey Horton in the short term.
19:00You know, obviously he was injured, but there was some hope for him to be a good day three pick for them.
19:06And then Cooper Cup, I think is just kind of over that, that age cliff and, and, you know, sunsetting within his career.
19:14Yeah. Look, Shahid has been one of the most efficient wide receivers on a per route run basis in the NFL since he entered the league period.
19:22Like he's, he's been unbelievably efficient. You saw him take away target share from Chris Alave when he was in New Orleans last year.
19:29And then after Shahid left is really where we saw the rocket ship happen for Chris Alave because Shahid can command targets.
19:36He's a good wide receiver. However, I actually am buying because I think Seattle has a very real opportunity to be more
19:43pass heavy than they were last year, where I talked about this with Nez a little bit.
19:48I'm becoming a best ball bro, where people are auto fading Jackson Smith and Jigba because of course he's going to regress,
19:55you know, and I've talked about it. Like his yards per target was really strong last year.
20:01He's not gonna be as good as he was last year.
20:04But the thing that we have to keep in mind is that he did that on a team that had, you know,
20:11that had a really high run rate, you know, had a really, really elite defense.
20:16And usually defenses do regress year over year in terms of when you get a very, very elite defense one year, they
20:22usually are not nearly that elite the next year.
20:25Just the way that things work from a football, from just a regular like math and football perspective.
20:31Right. And so, and then you, you factor in the running back situation and they're not being a very, you know, them
20:38talking about the way that they're talking about generic price right now.
20:41And you know what we just talked about, how they're not like, it's not like they drafted Jeremiah love and they're like, yeah, he's, he's a beast.
20:50He's going to just take over this backfield and we're going to have this run game.
20:55We don't know what that's going to look like.
20:58So I think all of that combined, it's like, maybe they do pass it more than they did last year.
21:04And if Rashid Shahid, who got there mid season, so you can't just assume that he fully understood what was going on.
21:11If Shahid, and I think part of it was a special teams ad, which is why they wanted them, which ended up being very fruitful for them.
21:19And what part of the reason why they big reason that they ended up winning a Superbowl.
21:24But if Shahid is running the second most routes on that team.
21:28Yeah. Great. I think it's a great best ball pick right now.
21:32I moved him up my rankings a little bit after thinking about it more.
21:36Honestly, it wasn't even really the report. It's like, sometimes when I'm doing my rankings, I'm not digging as deep as I could with some of these players.
21:45And then a report comes out and I start thinking about it, that player a little bit more.
21:51And I'm like, oh yeah, I can see an out for, for Rashid Shahid.
21:55He might even be a late round dart throw in the, in the guide.
21:59Um, because I just think that the, the environment is not nearly as bad as what people probably would think, given how run heavy they were last year.
22:08All right. Uh, are you ready to get hurt again, JJ?
22:11Like, are you ready for some pain? And this is what I want to know.
22:16Or are you just going to say, no, I don't want to get hurt because he wants to get hurt.
22:22Yeah. Well, if you draft Jaden blue or Marshawn Lloyd, you might be asking for it.
22:27And both these guys have had reports come out in the past week about their number two, like in line for the
22:34number two back in a backfield that really does not have a ton of competition.
22:39It's got one starter ahead of them. So, uh, are you ready to get hurt again with either Jaden blue or Marshawn Lloyd?
22:46I think that Marshawn Lloyd is more undervalued than Jaden blue is right now.
22:50And the reason I say that is because now, obviously the reason why he hasn't produced is because he's been, he's been banged up.
22:58But he was a, from a prospecting perspective, I didn't love him, but he was a, he's definitely athletic and he was
23:05definitely, I viewed him as like a really, really good one B in a backfield.
23:09Like that, that's where like he could go. Right.
23:12Maybe a one a in, in like a scenario where that B is just not like overly talented.
23:18Um, but he was definitely going to be like a split backfield type player in the NFL.
23:23But now you're sitting with a scenario where Josh Jacobs still has an unresolved off the field issue.
23:29It hasn't been totally resolved. We don't know what that's going to look like and if Marshawn Lloyd is healthy, he's probably
23:36gonna be the one a in that backfield. If Josh Jacobs were to be sidelined and that's an offense, I say the
23:42stat all the time, but since Matt LaFleur got to green Bay, his teams have never ranked outside the top half of the league and touchdowns per game.
23:51And so I, I think that Marshawn Lloyd is a good click right now.
23:56Jaden blue is fine. I, you know, the thing that annoyed me with Jaden blue last year.
24:01Yes. I, I had him as a dark throw.
24:04I'll take the L. Um, but the thing that annoyed me with Jaden blue last year is that a lot of people
24:11were buying into him simply because of situation. But I actually like, liked him as a prospect.
24:16I thought that he was a pretty good prospect, good pass catching profile.
24:20Uh, you know, had a lot of, of speed, obviously it just didn't click for him.
24:25And so like, I'll still buy in a little bit, uh, because I did think that he was a better prospect than what he showed last year.
24:33And I would argue that some of what he showed last year was more off the field, given what we heard through
24:40the media and what we heard through the coaches.
24:43So I, I, I guess I'm ready to get hurt again.
24:46Okay. There you go. Um, all right. Hopefully this guy doesn't hurt us because we have, uh, we've had some high marks for him.
24:54Casey conception. ESPN, uh, Daniel, a, a yes, who see, I don't know how you say his last name, but the, the
25:01solve the headline on wrote a world. And then someone use it on X also is that he's gonna be used in a bevy of ways.
25:09So, uh, a bevy of ways for Casey. That's good for us.
25:13Yeah. I also saw the, the chatter of Todd Munkin and, and them using him.
25:17Like he used a flowers, which is what we talked about right after, uh, they drafted Casey conception.
25:23So I think conception is a really good prospect.
25:26The model does that model actually didn't like, like it had McKay lemon ahead of him, but it wasn't by much.
25:32Um, because conception had a really versatile profile lined up both inside and out.
25:37You know, this final year, he was more of a perimeter receiver and he had his best season in college.
25:43You know, he did stuff on the ground as well.
25:46And that's why I think he's an intriguing player, even in a bad offense, because they can move him around.
25:52He's a good route runner. You know, the biggest question mark with him is, is his hands.
25:57And I don't really, I don't, I don't like focus on that too, too heavily, um, with my wide receiver valuation.
26:04Cause drops, for instance, uh, is not the stickiest stat in the world, but also, you know, you're talking about like a
26:11guy who could have 10 drops in the season versus six or five or something like that.
26:16It's just not enough for me to move the needle.
26:19You got to get open in order to see that target in the first place.
26:24There's been very good wide receivers historically that have not had the best hands in the world, but they get open.
26:30And I think Casey Concepcion can get open. I I've drafted him a little bit more over the last couple of weeks.
26:37Um, he's not like a priority for me right now.
26:40Cause I do think the environment isn't that strong.
26:43And I actually kind of like Jerry Judy as a dart throw, uh, late in drafts, but I do, I do think
26:50Casey Concepcion is a really good prospect. Okay. Uh, some more reports about Xavier and Thomas that, uh, you know, he is
26:57the most, the most surprising rookie there. Uh, the most, the biggest surprise for the bears, but also that he needs to earn Ben Johnson's trust.
27:05Yeah. And we saw that kind of last year with Luther burden, you showed me a picture or a screenshot of your
27:12Caleb Williams stack yesterday on draft Kings where you had Zavion in the 20th round.
27:17Yeah. I mean, it's, it's an additional piece that I think is going to at the very least get manufactured touches this year.
27:24He's a player that can line up, you know, the backfield and do some cool jet sweeps with and stuff like that, or do some end around stuff.
27:32So I think that he's going to get some manufactured looks, but here's the thing guys, like this time of year, when
27:39you're talking about shorts and guys practicing in shorts and stuff like that, a player like Xavier and Thomas is going to
27:46look a lot better than what he's probably going to look like in July, late July.
27:51Right. Where, you know, that that's, that's more real football stuff.
27:55This is, this is there in shorts and the speedy guys, the, the, the twitchy guys, they're going to look a lot
28:01more interesting and you're going to want to write about them as a result.
28:06Of that. I think Xavier and Thomas was actually a little bit undervalued as a player, given the way that people viewed
28:13him post draft, because it was a reach them drafting him in round three, but everyone kind of wrote it off.
28:19Similarly, as you wrote off Arian Smith last year.
28:22And while I do think Xavier and Thomas is not, you know, he's still a high risk type player in like the zap model.
28:29He did, you know, he, he did play for a relatively crowded room in college.
28:34You know, not guys who are studs, but guys who at least were NFL players or, you know, were, were, you know,
28:41like, like day three to undrafted type players. But then on top of that, you know, he, he did touch the ball
28:48in really unique ways in that offense. Like he, he got a lot of rushing production, which is something that does that
28:55model does favor and look at, at favorably. So I, I'm not like shocked by this reporting because Ben Johnson's one of
29:02the few coordinators that I would trust to be able to get a player like this really interesting looks, you know, it's
29:08the, to me, this is like his, his like new, I know that they have Khalif Raymond right now, but like, this
29:15is his new Khalif Raymond where you can see a scenario where he just has these like random one-off spike games because
29:22he can get down the field and he can do a lot with some speed, but he's not going to be someone
29:29that we're going to probably rely on very consistently in fantasy football.
29:33Okay. Um, Omar's coming for the wide receiver three spots.
29:36Apparently he is all but locked down the, uh, the three spot there for the jets.
29:41But I guess the question is, what is that worth?
29:44Yeah. I mean, we're also talking about Kenyon Sadiq still being involved in hernia.
29:48Yeah. He's been hurt right now. You know, they have Mason Taylor at tight end too, that, that could, that could at least see some looks.
29:56Uh, and then obviously, you know, Garrett Wilson's going to see his and Adonai Mitchell is, I mean, I, I, I, we've
30:03said this how many times on the show, like I think 80 Mitchell and Garrett Wilson are their one, two, and from like a, a 12 personnel perspective.
30:12And they could run a decent amount of 12 given Frank Reich, you know, in the way that he uses tight ends,
30:19but also just the personnel, like look what they have from a, from a tight end perspective.
30:24So I, I think that Omar Cooper is an okay prospect.
30:28I wasn't really overly high on him, but I wasn't low on him.
30:32I think that he was a relatively neutral type player.
30:35Um, but I, I don't want to get overexcited because there are some circumstances surrounding him that could cap his ceiling.
30:41You know, Smith is obviously his quarterback too. Um, but yeah, like he should be the wide receiver three.
30:47That should be a given. No, like, I feel like I saw this report too.
30:52And I'm like, this would be a bigger, this would be more of a banger for me if it was like, Oh,
30:59he's, he's clearly ahead of Adonai Mitchell, you know, where, but, but that's not been the case this, you know, over the last two months.
31:07Okay. Um, for set ready to serve. I mean, Jacob Brissett, basically what they're saying is that he just wants a little
31:13more guaranteed money to be a starter. He's making peanuts right now.
31:17I get that. Make it happen. Cardinals. Let's get past this.
31:21I agree. Um, I've cooled down on like the Cardinals hate that I, like, I still think Trey McBride will be overdrafted in most drafts.
31:28I think Jeremiah love is a good pick and I'm, I've become more okay with the, with the wide receiver picks because the gap between Marvin Harrison Jr.
31:37Michael Wilson has completely gotten the, it's the proper gap now.
31:40Right. In my opinion. Right. And so. Cause like when we started our process of evaluating for the season of for the
31:472026 fantasy season and stuff like Michael Wilson and a lot of dress was going ahead of Marvin Harrison Jr.
31:54Like back, back pre-draft and such. Right. Right. And now it's like a two round difference.
31:59It's like a very significant difference between the two.
32:01And that's basically how my rankings have it. You know, like I, I agree with it.
32:06So I'm now, you know, here in, on July 1st, I, Nes made a really interesting point that he thinks that errors.
32:13I think it was, it was, it was, I go on all these shows.
32:18I can't keep it straight, but I'm pretty sure Nez was the one who said that he thinks that Arizona could be
32:24better than expected offensively this year, which I don't think is a terrible take.
32:29Like, I think it's a pretty reasonable take given how bad that defense is and what, you know, we saw last year
32:36in these weapons that they have in that offense and obviously a new system, new coach, et cetera.
32:41I just think that they are not going to be throwing and running as many past plays as they did last year.
32:48And that could be a problem for a player like McBride when you are kind of buying, cause it's not like McBride
32:55was a phenomenal on a per route run basis.
32:58He ran really hot in touchdowns and he ran an obscene amount of routes.
33:02And so that's what scares me about McBride. But the other guys, you know, their, their opportunity costs isn't that significant.
33:09So now I'm just kind of like, whatever. I might still call out Michael Wilson in the, in the avoid section of
33:16the guide, because there might be a difference in season long versus what we see in basketball.
33:21Like there, there's a very real chance that we just see.
33:24I see a lot of people just say like Michael Wilson was so good last year.
33:29He's better than Marvin Harrison jr. And which he might be, you know, we don't know, but I think there's a lot,
33:36enough logical reason to have, you know, the gap that we see right now and best ball between those two guys.
33:43Whereas in season long, there might be less of a gap.
33:46And if that's the case, then I'll, I'll probably be more off of, of Michael Wilson.
33:51More good news coming out of the Mahomes camp that he is going to be ready for 11 V 11 when training camp starts.
33:59Uh, that's what you want to see if you are, you know, invested any sort of Kansas city player.
34:04Yeah. I'm a little bit worried about my homes though, from a, from like an ADP standpoint, not, not, not like a,
34:11but like, like he got, he had good rushing production last year.
34:15And I just like, I know that he averaged over 20 points per game last season, but we also saw a lead
34:22up of, of him being a pretty mediocre fantasy quarterback, like for, for multiple seasons.
34:27Like this is not, I just, I just think that he's got it.
34:31He's got name recognition. That's going to be in his favor.
34:34And I am admittedly a couple of spots below ADP with, with my homes right now.
34:39Okay. Uh, the guy, one guy is not on this list.
34:42I just didn't want to put them on here.
34:45It's Brandon. I uke. We talked about this in the best ball chats in the, uh, the late round discord yesterday, just about, okay.
34:53At what point are you just like, all right, he is going a little bit too overboard.
34:58I have so many Brandon. I uke teams because like, if he had his head on straight, he's going to the two hundreds.
35:05He could be a legit like top 100 player.
35:08If he, if he had, if everything was fine off the field with Brandon, I uke and he went to Washington, he
35:15would be probably in like, like I'm saying again, if everything was fine off the field, that's the caveat.
35:21Right. I bet he would be after giving up, you know, having not played for a year and like, you know, I
35:28know that part of that is the off the field stuff, but he hasn't played in so long.
35:33So there's definitely going to be some negative market sentiment around that.
35:37What do you think he'd be around probably the rookie wideouts and Marvin Harrison jr.
35:42Where he would be drafted. I would say round seven.
35:45Okay. So I would say like after the Jags guys, after Brian Thomas jr.
35:49Yeah. I would put, I mean, I have the Jags guys in that, that same, that, that other range.
35:55So yes, I would say like probably before like the Cortland Sutton type players.
35:59Yeah. Yeah. I would agree. Yeah. I agree with that.
36:03Yeah. So, I mean, I just, at some point you just have to kind of cut bait and, and quit catching the falling knife.
36:10And that's kind of, that's kind of where I'm at right now.
36:14All right. So let's get into some data. Today's data.
36:17All right. What are we looking at here, JJ?
36:20Yeah. So what we're looking at is a chart from the draft guide.
36:24Another one, another table where I look at wide receiver hit rates by previous season, average depth of target.
36:30And that's going back from 2014 and then to 2025.
36:33And you can see how these guys played against expectation.
36:36ADP expectation. So if they underperformed by four or more points by, and I'll highlight them here by two or more points.
36:43If they overperformed in general, if they outperform ADP expectation by two or more points per game, and then four or more points per game.
36:51And I had this trend last year where I looked at deep ball catches as a proxy to finding some late round gems.
36:58And instead this year, I looked at ADP. Because ADP actually is a better gradient.
37:02Right? It's not as restricted and threshold based as raw receptions would be.
37:06Right? For deep balls. You know, ADP, you could have a 9.01, 9.02.
37:10And I like statistics that are more like that because you're covering your ground a little bit stronger.
37:16And so when you look at previous season ADOT, you can see guys that had really low ADOTs.
37:22And this is in the wide receiver 43 to wide receiver 60 range.
37:26So I say late round wide receivers. Technically, they're not like round 18 wide outs, but they're in that like range of like, you're definitely thinking bench player.
37:34And they're wide receiver 5s on your fantasy team.
37:37This is a stat, for instance, that I would be very hesitant with Khalil Shakir, who has a very low ADOT.
37:44Right? And so you can see, on average, the players with an ADOT in the previous season below 9 yards, they've underperformed
37:51versus expectation by about 0.7 points per game. And then as that ADOT increases, they do better against expectation.
37:57And a lot of the reason for that is you're looking at late round wide receivers.
38:02They're not going to get high target shares more than likely.
38:05And so how do you combat a lower target share?
38:08You get down the field, you make splash plays, and then you can find yourself in fantasy lineups that way.
38:14So look for more of those deep threats whenever you're drafting late, especially in a best ball environment, because those are the
38:21players that generally outperform their cost at the highest rate.
38:24Good stuff. Yeah, we have lots of these cool charts in the draft guide.
38:29Don't ask me how I know. But formatting a lot.
38:32You become very intimate with all the tables in the guide.
38:35All right, let's get on to it. It's the main event.
38:39The late round main event. We want to stress, JJ, that this is for fun.
38:43This is fun, guys. Yeah, these scary comps are for fun.
38:47We're having so much fun. People that go to scary movies for fun, there's something wrong with those people.
38:53You don't like scary movies at all? Oh, man.
38:55No, I don't. I've got a few stories. You know what?
38:59I don't like scary movies. I'm okay with sad movies.
39:02I'm okay. I like feeling, right? Yeah. And so I'm fine with movies that make you, at the end, sit back and
39:09be like, wow, that was really powerful and sad.
39:12But it's okay. You don't need happy endings all the time, in my opinion.
39:16Yeah. I just... My emotions, like the jump scare, they will always scare me.
39:20Yeah. And in college, this is like, you know, it's a big rabbit hole.
39:25But in college, someone tried to set me up with a girl and we went over to this big place where I didn't know any of these people.
39:33And I sat next to her and they're like, oh, we're going to put on a movie.
39:39And it was some scary horror movie. Yeah. And they turned off the lights.
39:43We're watching it. And the first jump scare, I screamed and I kicked the girl who was in front of me.
39:50And they had to... They stopped the movie and turned on the lights.
39:54One of the top five most embarrassing moments of my life.
39:57Wow. Yeah. I'm not... I don't really understand the idea of being scared.
40:01I understand the feeling of like wanting to like reflect and maybe feel sad.
40:06Like I watched... Like I... Look, I'll say it.
40:08I like the show This Is Us. I thought This Is Us was phenomenal.
40:13Phenomenally written. But it was also like, you know, onions were being cut sometimes when I was watching that show because it makes you reflect.
40:21It makes you think, right? It makes you appreciate what you have.
40:24And like, that's the kind of stuff that you can really take away from media, in my opinion, and then, you know, take with you throughout life.
40:33Whereas being scared, you know, I don't want to see...
40:36I don't want to see a dude chasing someone with a dagger.
40:40You know, I don't need that. I don't need to think about that when I'm walking down my street.
40:45Come on. All right. All right. Speaking of guys being chased with a dagger, you have these scary comps.
40:51Man, I wanted Julio Jones in 2021 to be a thing for the Titans so bad.
40:56And it was just an epic letdown. You have the scary comp for Julio Jones in 21 as this year's DJ Moore, possibly.
41:04Yeah. So the way that this works is that same way that we did last week.
41:09I looked at all of the similarity scores that were over 80.
41:12So 80% match or better for the higher end picks in drafts, right?
41:16And I saw... I basically got the worst comp, market score comp, of the players that had pretty strong comps, right?
41:23So like Julio Jones's 2021 is actually a decent comp for DJ Moore's 2026.
41:27And the reason for that, there's four factors. Overall ADP, so where they were drafted.
41:32Positional ADP, so where they were drafted within their position.
41:35Market score, which is the stuff that we've been talking about that takes ADP.
41:39It takes previous season metrics and it spits out a score to help determine how we should rank these guys and how we should view these guys.
41:48And then NFL year. So as a player gets older, you know, it's a little bit looser with the way that it looks at NF of these scores.
41:57Look at these similarity scores look in NFL year.
41:59So like DJ Moore, though, is year nine and Julio Jones was year 11.
42:04They both changed teams. Julio Jones switched from going from Atlanta to Tennessee that season.
42:08And Julio Jones ended up scoring 6.4 PPR points per game.
42:12Look, all of these comps, you guys, I don't think that they're going to happen, right?
42:17But I do think that it's really important when you're looking at these players, you don't have rose-colored glasses on only.
42:23That you are able to see the downside risk with some of these players.
42:28Because there were a lot of people who were like, well, Julio can't fail miserably.
42:32And he failed miserably. He was a horrible, horrible pick that year.
42:36So just know that DJ Moore has at least a scary floor.
42:40I think his ceiling is interesting, but his floor is definitely scary.
42:44All right. Cam Scadaboo truthers look away because his comp is Jeremy Langford in 2016.
42:48I really like Cam Scadaboo this year. Like, I have him ranked ahead of Javante Williams and Travis Etienne right now, which
42:55is definitely against market in the way that the market views things.
42:59So he's probably going to end up being a target for me in the draft guide as a result of that.
43:05Because I think that if he were fully healthy, he'd go where Jeremiah Love at the very least is going in drafts.
43:12But you have to be honest and say he is a day three pick, early day three.
43:18So I don't really care as much. But he is a day three pick.
43:22And there's some ambiguity going around, you know, like surrounding him.
43:25And his top bad comp was Jeremy Langford in 2016.
43:28Jeremy Langford was the 106th overall pick. Cam Scadaboo was 105th overall pick.
43:32That's not even part of the equation here for finding these comps.
43:36It's just interesting how these comps get spit out.
43:39And there is some similarity in terms of the story that you can tell.
43:43Because Langford had some production as rookie season. It wasn't as good per game as Cam Scadaboo's.
43:49But there was production from Langford, which allowed him to be basically a 50th overall pick the following year.
43:55But Langford obviously fell flat on his face. He had six PPR points per game as a second year player.
44:01I don't think that's going to happen with Scadaboo.
44:04I actually like Scadaboo. But again, let's look at the bear case here.
44:08Bear case. See what you did there. All right.
44:11This next one. This is the one that should scare you.
44:14This is frightening. You have Jadarian Price. With a comp of Caleb Johnson from 2025.
44:19Yeah, look. I don't think this is going to happen.
44:22Just when people are starting to heal, JJ. You bring up this.
44:25I know. But look. Here's the reason why Caleb Johnson got spit out.
44:30Number one, they were both rookies. Or, you know, Jadarian Price is a rookie.
44:34Caleb Johnson was a rookie. Market score Jadarian Price is only at 24.3.
44:38Caleb Johnson's at 20.4. By the way, all the market score stuff, you're going to be able to get in the draft guide.
44:45We're going to have a table at the end of the draft guide where you can see what everyone's market score is.
44:52And it's only looking at top 120 picks. So, top 10 round picks at running back and wide receiver.
44:58So, a market score of 24 is not necessarily like horrible.
45:01Because you're only looking at that within the context of, you know, top 10 round players.
45:06But yes, it is bad for where he's being drafted.
45:09The overall ADPs aren't that dissimilar. That's probably where it does vary a little bit.
45:14Again, I don't think that this is going to happen because I do think that Caleb Johnson's, you know, like Jalen Warren
45:21and Kenny Gainwell were really good players. And it was easier for a team like Pittsburgh to use them.
45:27Like, I think they're going to use Jadarian Price in some way.
45:31He also had better draft capital. That being said, it's everything I talked about earlier.
45:35Like, don't assume that if no one else is there, quote unquote, he doesn't have any competition, that it can't go south because it can't.
45:43Okay, if you have any Parker Washington shares in your dynasty teams, then just look away because this scary comp is Hunter Renfro in 2022.
45:51How perfect is this comp though? Hunter Renfro and year, everyone go Google Hunter Renfro's pro football reference page and then look at what Parker Washington has done.
46:00They did, had some production and then year three, they blew up and then year four happens and Hunter Renfro disappears.
46:06He had six PPR points per game that year.
46:09Their overall ADPs, 69 versus 71. Their positional ADP, 33 versus 30.
46:13Their market scores, you have 37 for Washington, you have 43 for Renfro.
46:17So market score liked Renfro, you know, a decent bit.
46:20And it was an L from a market score standpoint that year.
46:24And I'm afraid that we could see that with Washington because market score doesn't mind Washington.
46:29I like Washington. And so it is a little bit scary to think that this could just be a Hunter Renfro blip.
46:35And I don't think I've seen the Renfro comp made for Parker Washington.
46:39You know, like it's like people are trying to come up with reasons as to like why you wouldn't go after Washington
46:46because he had really good peripherals and he's in a good system.
46:50And I think he's going to get another contract.
46:53Things are pointing up for Parker Washington, but this Renfro comp does give me at least some pause.
46:58Yeah. Britain's train just got three for 45 and they say that Parker Washington might be next on the list.
47:05So that should give the Parker Washington dynasty truth.
47:07There's some hope there. Next on the list. Oh, Matthew Golden.
47:11Compared to Sky Moore in 2023, who did not fall for the Sky Moore trap in 2023?
47:16Doesn't this feel perfect though? As a floor comp, I don't again, this is this is the lower outcome here.
47:22It's not the median outcome, but you could see this happening that Sky Moore just didn't live up to the hype.
47:29You know, good, good situation for him. People liked his talent generally is kind of a little bit split, but liked him
47:36enough, you know, as a with with pretty good draft capital didn't do anything as rookie year.
47:41But even still situation kind of elevated him going into year two.
47:45He had almost an identical overall ADP as Golden does almost an identical positional ADP.
47:50You're looking at wider C for 50 compared to 49.
47:53And Matthew Golden has a market score of one.
47:55Again, that's that's among top 10 round players, but it is very low.
48:00It's one Sky Moore's was zero. So props to market score.
48:03You know, they missed out on Hunter Renfro, but definitely hit on Sky Moore because we can look back and we can
48:10see how market score viewed certain players just because we can calculate that.
48:14And obviously Sky Moore scored less than four PPR points per game that year.
48:18So again, I just thought that it was a really interesting.
48:22The fact that it was the top is actually his top comp period.
48:26But the fact that that was, you know, one of the top comps for Matthew Golden when there are so many interesting similarities.
48:33I thought I had to shout that out on today's show.
48:36JJ, you know, it's scary. Changes are scary. Some people are just really afraid of changes like when you change a new team.
48:43So Isaiah likely his comp is John Smith from 2021.
48:47And that's when John Smith finished his rookie contract and he went to New England and he was drafted as sort of
48:53like a fringe tight end one high end tight end two.
48:57And he was terrible. Four and a half PPR points per game.
49:01He obviously went on to Miami. He ended up being very good in fantasy football.
49:05But there is that outcome for Isaiah likely to I'm drafting likely.
49:09I think he's a really interesting player this year.
49:12You know, you have a situation where he will play slot on slot role and slot alignment is something that we should
49:19be looking for in our tight ends. That's going to be part of the guide this year.
49:24But there are a lot of similarities with John Smith from 2021 when you look at overall ADP, positional ADP and market score.
49:31So, yeah, there's there's some there's there's a bear case for Isaiah likely.
49:35You know, it also scary, JJ. I love these transitions.
49:38Getting old. Getting old is scary as someone who's down his 40s.
49:42I'm scared of getting old. You got Chris Godwin compared to Robert Woods in 2022.
49:47To market score does not like Chris Godwin because Chris Godwin was not very good last year, period.
49:52Like you have to if you're drafting Chris Godwin, which I have.
49:56He at one point, he was one of my highest roster wide receivers on draft kings.
50:01He's not anymore. But at one point I was drafting him a good bit.
50:05You have to basically be doing that by telling yourself a story that last year he was banged up and he was
50:12recovering from an injury, which I think is very valid.
50:15Right. And so you can look at market score, though.
50:19And if you want to look at it completely objectively of how he performed and what year of the NFL he's in,
50:25you can sit there and say, hey, this is a scary pick.
50:29And it is kind of a scary pick. Robert Woods 2022 is when he changes environment.
50:34Another Tennessee Titan wide receiver going to die. You know, his career just just just finishing up there and, you know, him
50:41not being able to do, although he didn't go to like Pittsburgh and stuff later on in his career.
50:47But yeah, Robert Woods is a definitely a scary tale for Chris Godwin.
50:51I don't think that this is the outcome we're going to see, but it was, you know, top scary comp form.
50:57We could just have a section that compares guys scary comps to Titans receivers.
51:02Andre Johnson. Yeah. Andre Johnson, Randy Moss. I mean, all sorts.
51:05It is kind of crazy how the Titans just are.
51:08That is the the the instant DeAndre Hopkins. Did you say DeAndre Hopkins to like that?
51:13Yeah. The instant one of these guys goes to Tennessee, you know, it's over.
51:18That's Calvin Ridley. I mean, maybe not. We'll see.
51:21All right. Kyron Williams compared to last year's Alvin Kamara.
51:24Yeah. The NFL year is obviously different here. Kyron Williams, year five, Alvin Kamara, year nine.
51:29But the positional ADP overall ADP and market score are very, very similar.
51:33So market score is probably not that on point with Alvin Kamara last year.
51:37We obviously didn't have the metric last year, but it wasn't totally on point with him.
51:42But I think this kind of speaks to what could happen with Williams in terms of just like effectiveness and efficiency, not
51:49necessarily being there, but him being a volume getter.
51:52And that's been very helpful for him in fantasy football.
51:55It was it was there. He was better efficiency wise last year, but Blake Horum was too.
52:00And so kind of kind of plays into what we talked about earlier with Blake Horum.
52:05I just thought it was an interesting comp given that I will say market score does not hate Kyron Williams, which makes
52:12me, you know, that's why I've been kind of on the edge of putting him as an avoid or not.
52:18Yeah. Okay. You know, sometimes using your imagination can be scary, but you're going to use your imagination on this one.
52:25It's Rashad White compared to Eddie Lacy in 2017.
52:28Eddie Lacy moved teams year five. And that was the last year of his NFL career.
52:32Rashad White finishes his rookie contract, moves teams year five.
52:36And then it was, I mean, I'm hoping I got I'm drafting a lot of Rashad White to me.
52:42He is the guy that you want in the Washington backfield.
52:45He's going to be someone that's going to be a target in the draft guide.
52:50So I've been drafting him a lot. With that being said, the Eddie Lacy comp, there's a lot of similarities when you
52:56look at the overall demographics of what their profile says.
53:00And they're both on new teams. And, you know, maybe it does go south.
53:04So, yeah, we're scaring some people in the chat, I think right now.
53:08And last but not least, you know, like how scary movies, you know, like red rum.
53:13Yeah, I've got I got another scary word for you.
53:16A Rob in 2022. Alan Robinson, when he went to the Rams, that is Mike Evans.
53:21One of his top comps this year is Alan Robinson as a Ram.
53:25I have we were so hopeful with Alan Robinson going to the Rams, too.
53:30I know people were loving the Alan Robinson. Like he was a fourth round pick firm firmly, you know, towards the end of draft season.
53:37I know his overall ADP doesn't say that here, but like firmly in a lot of leagues.
53:43He was going like early fourth in a lot of like analyst leagues and stuff.
53:47But very similar overall ADP between him and Mike Evans.
53:50Very, you know, they're later in their career. And Alan Robinson scored eight and a half PPR points per game that year.
53:57And it was it was bad. It was not a good season.
54:01I don't think I genuinely my heart of hearts do not think that's that's the outcome for Mike Evans this year.
54:08Am I heavily targeting Mike Evans? I haven't. But if you want to talk about like an aged player or at least,
54:14you know, towards that end of his career who changed teams this offseason.
54:18I like Mike Evans more than I like DJ more.
54:22DJ more scares me more than Mike Evans. Yeah, that makes sense.
54:25OK, that's it for the scary players, JJ. So people can, you know, tune back in if they've been covering it.
54:32Like you tell your kids, like cover your eyes or cover your ears.
54:36Yeah, you can you can take the earmuffs off now.
54:39Yeah, you got it. We're going to wrap this up.
54:42All right. I do want to say before you wrap this up, I didn't put this in the news section, but part
54:49of why we cheer like or the magic of fancy football is just like these incredible athletes.
54:54Right. And we had a report come out this week about Chris Johnson, CJ 2K diagnosed with ALS.
55:00I posted on X, but man, as someone who's just a lifelong Titans fan who loves Chris Johnson, I met him and
55:07got to talk with him at the NFL draft in 2019.
55:10Man, this guy was just larger than life and faster than anything.
55:14And to see that compared to where he is now, you know, a year into this diagnosis, it is just man, it's just heartbreaking.
55:21So, yeah, it's it's a horrible disease. All the best wishes to him and his family.
55:26One of the things that I always think about with Chris Johnson, it's kind of just like a random aside and just
55:33I don't know why it popped in my head, but I remember he was I think it was when he was with
55:40the Jets and they weren't using him enough. Like because he was obviously I mean, he's just he was a phenomenal player.
55:47Yeah. And there was a quote where he said, I don't even be in the game when he was talking to reporters
55:54when they were like, why aren't you you know, why aren't the Jets doing X, Y, Z?
55:59He's like, I don't even be in the game, you know, sort of like an Allen Iverson practice type type presser for Chris Johnson.
56:07But like you, you know, when stuff like this happens, it's just you read all of these like really great feel good
56:13stories about that person and how he was off the field, because none of us get to really truly interact with these
56:20guys for the most part, you know, day to day or anything like that.
56:25We just see them through the media and we don't know what's going on behind closed doors.
56:30Not only with this fight with this horrible disease, but also how he is as a human and a person and watching that interview was just devastating.
56:38But also you could see the courage inside him and you could see, you know, his words were just so powerful for
56:45anyone else that's going through a similar fight and anyone else who has family members or friends that are going through a similar fight.
56:53It's horrible. You know, we need to find a cure for this.
56:56Like it's scary. It's everything, right? Like it's just it's just the worst part of being human is this kind of thing.
57:03And so, you know, both of us wish him the best, you know, not that anyone is going to be listening.
57:10That's part of that circle. But, you know, I just I just I hope that they can find peace and that that
57:17things are, you know, slower to develop than they expect or they find some enhancements or he's able to help get the
57:24word out to get better enhancements in terms of curing this disease.
57:27It's just it's horrible. And best wishes to him and his family.
57:31Yeah. When Pete Tripp said Madden legend, like even as a Titans fan watching him, anytime he touched the ball, if he
57:38got some sort of seam, he was just gone.
57:41I loved having him in fantasy. Oh, because you could you know, you'll be sitting there.
57:46That was, you know, you'd be tracking games and all of a sudden you see the big line of score.
57:52Yes. And you're like, oh, my God, 15 fantasy points just now.
57:56You know, like it was amazing. Incredible. Shout out to CJ2K again.
57:59Man, what's what a testament that that he has with with this fight going on.

58:36But, you know, it's a we thing. We're a team.
58:39Yeah. Everyone heard a third of the credit. I don't think that's how it works, but I appreciate that.

59:06So hopefully everybody's ready, man, because it's coming. Yeah, Scott Fishbowl happening.
59:10Some Scott Fishbowl leagues have already happened. I was at the Scott Fishbowl event in Charlotte this past week.
59:16I celebrated my 11th wedding anniversary with my wife at the Scott Fishbowl event.
59:20That was great. Look, we did stuff afterwards, kitchen.
59:23It was fine. No. All right. I'm just going to shut my mouth now.
59:27Again, promo code Late Round there for draft gigs.
59:30But no, I always say Scott Fishbowl is like the unofficial start of fantasy football season.
59:35But it just seems like that's not even true anymore because of everything else going on with best ball and everything else.
59:42But it is a huge part of the fantasy season.
59:45So I'm looking forward to that. And again, appreciate everyone for tuning in.
