Adonai Mitchell

PositiveSleeper38:28

Jets receiver with elite yards per route run of 3.24 (top five); the source describes him as having 'league winning upside' and notes tape evaluation shows 'him and Cooper are awesome,' though cautions that Jets' rotation of five receivers and four tight ends with Geno Smith spreading the ball around creates uncertainty around target volume.

Insight page

Amon-Ra St. Brown

PositiveUsage36:31

Washington Commanders slot receiver led the team in targets on Sunday Night Football; the source frames this as the 'trajectory we need' and advocates for continued monitoring as his role expands, though acknowledges he still faces target competition from Stefon Diggs and Treylon Burks.

Insight page

Antonio Williams

PositiveBreakout37:17

The source believes Antonio Williams is 'a way better player than consensus' and 'a really good prospect,' with bullish long-term outlook; positioned as a top-tier C-tier prospect above Mecole Hardman tier, with expectation that production will improve as the season progresses despite limited early-season output due to draft capital constraints.

Insight page

Bam Knight

NegativeInjury10:01

Suffered a concussion in Week 9 and is a coin flip to play this week; very likely to miss Week 9 entirely. Was part of a committee with Tyler Allgeier and Jeremiah Love earlier in the season. If he clears concussion protocol, committee risk with Allgeier and Jeremiah Love on a pass-heavy Falcons offense with poor defense makes him a one-week rental at best.

Insight page

Brian Thomas Jr.

NegativeValue45:21

43% owned; caught one pass and scored a touchdown in Week 8. Trade candidate with imminent move expected before Week 9 deadline; Jaguars excluded him from official weapons graphic despite being a first-round pick two years ago. If acquired via trade for a third or fourth-round pick in real NFL, represents strong value given elite talent level comparable to Marvin Harrison Jr.'s ceiling; confidence and role issues are primary concern, not talent. Ranked D tier if not traded, F tier if remains with Jacksonville.

Insight page

Brock Bowers

PositiveProjection45:07

Ranks second among all pass catchers with at least 75 routes run from the slot position in separation score, behind only Zay Flowers. Separation score is the most predictive non-production stat; slot separation is harder to achieve than outside separation due to soft zone coverage limiting graded plays. Elite separation metrics suggest increased opportunity and production ahead.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

NegativeInjury20:07

Picked up a mild hamstring strain in Week 7 with early optimistic reports, though the 49ers' injury history suggests caution. Shanahan has stated he wants to take more work off CMC's plate; recent workload shows 8 carries season high followed by 12 carries season high in last two games. McCaffrey has 60 touches on the season, establishing a clear role in every game played. Tier ranking is contingent on injury news; if negative health vibes emerge, CMC could drop from A tier to B tier, warranting close monitoring as the week progresses.

Insight page

Demario Douglas

PositiveValue43:52

Demario Douglas is a waiver wire target with strong recent production and favorable upcoming matchups. Over his last four games, he averaged 16.3 PPG on five targets per game while dominating separation metrics. The source initially hesitated due to Patriots' super-spreader offense volume concerns but upgraded him to B-tier after considering that strong performance typically leads to increased targets and the Patriots' injury situation (Romeo Dobbs, A.J. Brown, Mack Hollins, Hunter Henry out).

Insight page

Eli Raridon

PositiveValue49:34

New England Patriots tight end with 77% route share and elevated snap share with Hunter Henry sidelined for at least a couple of weeks. Has been quietly productive: three-plus catches and 56-plus yards in two of his last four games despite Henry's presence. Ranks as high-end tight end two option for desperate starters; represents waiver wire target in tight end-thin landscape.

Insight page

Garrett Wilson

PositiveProjection38:39

Jets wide receiver showing concerning efficiency decline and stalled production despite QB upgrade narrative. Yards per route run of 0.97 ranks outside top 100 wide receivers. Historical production trajectory shows regression: 2022 WR7 in targets and WR31 in PPG; 2023 WR4 in targets and WR34 in PPG; 2024 WR3 in targets and WR20 in PPG; 2025 WR6 in targets and WR20 in PPG—essentially flat this year. The source argues that after four straight years of QB excuses, the pattern suggests something is fundamentally wrong with his production, not just circumstance. Wilson also faces the toughest target competition of his career; he has only played with one non-awful wide receiver—Davante Adams—for eight games, during which he 'totally disappeared' and feuded with Aaron Rodgers on the sideline.

Insight page

J.J. McCarthy

PositiveValue5:29

J.J. McCarthy is only 9% owned, available in 91% of leagues coming out of his bye week. Through 1.25 starts he looks awesome with 243 passing yards and rushing in week six, 252 passing yards and 9 yards per attempt in week seven; his week seven film grade would rank as a top-three performance for Caleb Williams in his career starts, suggesting elite early performance trajectory. Soft strength of schedule ahead (Philly, Washington, Jacksonville). Available in 91% of leagues versus Kirk Cousins' 44% availability, making McCarthy a lower-acquisition-cost pivot option if Cousins is unavailable.

Insight page

Jacoby Brissett

NegativeProjection9:11

Comparison comp for J.J. McCarthy's expected performance level rest of season; source asks if McCarthy projects as 'good Jacoby Brissett' level, suggesting mid-tier QB1 upside.

Insight page

Jameis Winston

NegativeProjection9:11

Comparison comp for J.J. McCarthy's expected performance level rest of season; source asks if McCarthy projects as 'good Jameis Winston' level, suggesting mid-tier QB1 upside rather than elite performance.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

NegativeInjury10:01

Ankle injury suffered in week nine, second injury setback after returning from previous injury. Jeff Mueller is very pessimistic on Love's outlook with IR risk possible; timeline could be weeks 12 through 15. Out for week nine, creating bell cow opportunity for Tyler Allgeier.

Insight page

Jordan Addison

PositiveBreakout29:17

A-tier waiver target with breakout potential; comparison to Rashad Penny and rookie Amon-Ra St. Brown as under-the-radar emergence candidates; plays in high-scoring Vikings offense with high pace of play and high red zone opportunities; round-one draft pedigree with high college production; source emphasizes upside as most important factor.

Insight page

Jordyn Tyson

PositiveRole27:39

Waiver target with 51% ownership despite not playing a snap yet; timing appears favorable coming out of Saints bye week; De'Von Achane's redundancy with Juwan Johnson and weak performance creates opportunity for Tyson to slide into Saints receiver rotation alongside emerging young talent.

Insight page

Kaelon Black

PositiveValue17:32

Premium handcuff at 31% ownership, playing a lot again. While handcuffs are generally a dime a dozen, Kalon Black stands out with potential stand-alone value trending beyond pure handcuff status. Christian McCaffrey has 60 touches on the season with recent workload increases (8 carries season high, then 12 carries season high in last two games), and Shanahan has stated he wants to take more work off CMC's plate. CMC suffered a mild hamstring strain in Week 7 with optimistic early reports, though the 49ers' injury history warrants caution. Kalon Black rated D tier currently but could easily move to B or A tier if negative CMC injury news emerges.

Insight page

Kenneth Walker III

PositiveProjection25:14

High-quality lead back with consistent performance; Kenneth Walker is so reliable that he is unlikely to have many bad games, making him a durable fantasy asset. However, his handcuff value (Emitt Johnson) is dependent on Walker suffering an injury, which is the primary pathway to Johnson's standalone value. If Walker goes down, Johnson could see six targets and 14 carries per week on a great offense.

Insight page

Kirk Cousins

PositiveValue3:15

Kirk Cousins is only 56% owned despite being QB6 in fantasy points per game, tied with Jared Goff. He has posted 295+ yards and 2+ touchdowns in seven of eight games, finishing as a QB1 in six of his last seven starts, and is on pace for 42 touchdowns. Strength of schedule toughens (49ers, Seahawks, Broncos) but he's producing against good defenses this year. Mid-range QB1 with valuable production despite lacking league-winning upside; available in 44% of leagues versus J.J. McCarthy's 91% availability, making Cousins the clear choice if both are available.

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

NegativeValue8:45

Context for quarterback pivot discussion; if you own Lamar Jackson, Kirk Cousins is not available, making J.J. McCarthy a relevant waiver wire target as a backup option.

Insight page

Leonard Fournette

PositiveRole35:07

Cowboys running back positioned as a capable player in a high-ceiling offense; the source notes Fournette 'can ball a bit' and is 'a good player,' with prior conviction that there's 'something there with this guy.'

Insight page

Makai Lemon

PositiveUsage30:12

Waiver target with recent target volume and receiving production; team highs in targets in back-to-back weeks with 55+ receiving yards in both games; benefits from Devonta Smith injury and Tanner McKee's tendency to target the middle of the field more than Jalen Hurts did; ranked below Jordan Addison in tier preference.

Insight page

Malik Nabers

PositiveValue27:00

S-tier waiver wire target with strong consensus recommendation; source would spend all FAB to acquire him even factoring in acquisition cost; described as an absolute stud.

Insight page

Mike Washington Jr.

PositiveUsage13:54

Trending up with 25 of 28 backfield carries in a recent game with starter Ashton Jeanty fully healthy; had eight carries inside the 10-yard line. Potential for 16–18–20 carries per game down the stretch with soft matchups if Jeanty is benched or injured. The source prefers Washington over Tyler Allgeier straight up, though both are tier-level targets. FAB allocation 4–6%.

Insight page

Nicholas Singleton

PositiveRole21:48

Poor waiver wire target with limited standalone value; he is a pass-down back only, not a runner, and is significantly inferior to Tony Pollard as a runner. His role overlap with Tajae Spears makes him redundant in the Eagles backfield. Rated F tier, though the source notes that in deep leagues there is a theoretical pathway to relevance if circumstances align.

Insight page

Omar Cooper Jr.

PositiveBreakout42:30

Omar Cooper accomplished something almost never done in NFL history: 100-plus yards in his first two full NFL games. However, his role remains uncertain due to target competition from Garrett Wilson and the possibility of Wilson being traded. The source views Cooper as a potential waiver wire target but cautions that the Jets' receiver room is a frustrating headache until Wilson's status is clarified.

Insight page

Quez Watkins

NegativeRole30:32

The source and co-host maintained pessimism on Watkins through the offseason but acknowledge the Eagles are deploying him in an ideal slot-heavy, middle-of-field role designed to maximize run-after-catch opportunities. With Tanner McKee at QB instead of Jalen Hurts, the situation improves. Watkins is getting volume as the Eagles' number one receiver, though production remains modest (58 yards in recent games). Ranked C-tier as a waiver target.

Insight page

Ryan Flournoy

PositiveSleeper32:32

Rare handcuff wide receiver with standalone value. Flournoy has posted 11-plus fantasy points in four straight games, surpassed Jake Ferguson as the Cowboys' clear number three receiver (Ferguson is out), and averaged 13.4 fantasy points per game in six games last year when he cleared 50% snap share. George Pickens is playing through an injury and has shown behavioral concerns (sprinting off field alone after games), creating a pathway for Flournoy's upside if Pickens' injury lingers or he checks out. Flournoy has significantly more upside than Mecole Hardman despite similar projections. Gets a favorable slot funnel Colts matchup this week. Ranked D-tier as a waiver add but S-tier for waiver watch list.

Insight page

Seth McGowan

PositiveSleeper16:01

Lottery ticket waiver wire target contingent on a Jonathan Taylor trade; McGowan is the only running back on the Broncos roster with a pulse. While the source expresses skepticism about McGowan's talent and the Broncos offense, the upside of a Taylor trade (estimated ~50% odds) without a return RB makes him a worthwhile speculative add. Tested as a 98.5th percentile athlete with an Isaiah Pacheco-like frame; runs angry and physical despite bulky running style and limited vision. Tier C rating based purely on lottery ticket component.

Insight page

Tony Pollard

NegativeValue21:21

Sell-high candidate despite recent Tennessee offensive efficiency gains; the source called him a 'massive sell high' on a prior episode. While Tennessee went no-huddle 41% of the time in Week 8 (highest in the league, up from 29% in Week 7), which is an efficiency cheat code for running games, Pollard remains overvalued. Trade likelihood is low due to his expensive ~$6 million cap hit and limited buyer interest; the Lions were the only team remotely linked, but Sione Vaki's recent performance suggests they may prefer a different profile.

Insight page

Tyler Allgeier

NegativeValue10:01

Elite waiver wire target with elite recent performance: 11 carries for 147 rushing yards, 5 catches for 44 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns, 36 fantasy points in week nine. Jeremiah Love out this week with ankle injury and IR risk (weeks 12-15 per Jeff Mueller), Bam Knight very likely to miss as well, positioning Allgeier as a bell cow this week. Improved offensive ecosystem with Gardner Minshew now at helm who will keep the offense on schedule better than the previous quarterback. Source rates him S-tier for Week 9 waiver priority. Long-term concern is committee risk if Bam Knight clears concussion protocol, and Allgeier has cleared 11 carries only once in his last seven games, suggesting limited upside ceiling despite improved offense.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

PositiveProjection45:07

Leads all pass catchers with at least 75 routes run from the slot in separation score, ranking first among elite slot receivers. Separation score is the most predictive non-production stat; elite separation metrics from the slot position (harder to achieve than outside due to soft zone coverage) indicate strong opportunity and production trajectory.

0:00Week 9 waiver wire, we're breaking down the names, the [music] strategy, and everything you need to know here on the Fantasy Football Daily with Brett and
0:08Scott.
0:13>> Are you serious?
0:15>> [music] >> What?
0:18>> [laughter] >> That's awesome.
0:19>> That's so sick.
0:23>> [music] >> Scott, I just said week 9. Can you believe that?
0:29>> I can't believe that.
0:30>> Week 9?
0:31>> Flying by. Yeah.
0:32>> happening?
0:33>> Hey, if your if your season's over, by the way, the season's never over.
0:37We got the in-season betting package.
0:39>> True.
0:41>> Time to play DFS, get a Fantasy Points Pro subscription.
0:46>> Uh we have an updated messaging on the the in-season betting package.
0:51>> What's in it?
0:52>> Through week 8, you know, if you we're up a combined 54.8 with between that's between Tom, Chris, and uh Justin, right? Justin Barnes.
1:04That's a 16.3% ROI. If you bet $100 per unit and you tailed every pick, you'd be up $5,500 a season. The craziest part
1:13about that, Scott, is last week you would have been up 4,000.
1:17So, just tailing the picks this week, you would have made $1,500.
1:22I made the joke that it's like having a second full-time job.
1:25Scott, that's $1,500 in a week.
1:28That's a second full-time job. That's insane.
1:31>> That's an That's an >> That's an incredible ROI. Um we're only 8 weeks into the season. We got 14 weeks
1:38still to go counting the playoffs. You don't want to wait another week. Right now, you can get 70% off your first
1:43month of our in-season betting package with promo code grinder.
1:47We told you last week, we're telling you it again.
1:51Head over to fantasypoints.com, get in on the action today. That's promo code grinder for 70% off your first month.
1:58>> Brother, usually you kill these. I I feel like you you didn't do a great job this time.
2:02Yeah, 54.8 units. We're not even halfway through the season. There's still 14 weeks left to go. This isn't luck. This isn't an aberration. We were up 99.6
2:12units last year. You have Justin Barnes, who up 60% or better uh each of the previous 3 years. You have uh
2:22Chris Wachtel has been an absolute machine. Tom Brolly, who runs the betting package, just you know, one of the most proven track records in the
2:29industry. And like that's something specific to us is we're completely transparent. We publicly track every single bet, win or lose. You could find
2:38that uh on fantasypoints.com in the betting tracker. And uh yeah, man.
2:44$5,500 in 2 months. It's crazy.
2:49>> It's crazy. It's crazy.
2:51All right, let's dive in.
2:52We're doing our our weekly waiver wire show. We, as you know, we rank them. We tier make them.
2:59So, we're going to go through each position. We're going to give you the guys you need to be adding.
3:03But they're going to be tiered based on cost to acquire, based on staying power.
3:08You know, is this a streaming option versus a long-term solution? Yada yada yada. We're going to answer all of those questions and more. Let's get it started
3:15with Kirk Cousins. I don't know how we keep landing on Kirk like how is he still only 56% owned, Scott? I know
3:21you're going to say that the quarterback doesn't matter, but bro, he's better than he's better than 11 guys, at least.
3:28>> Yeah, I he I feel like he really won me over this past week, honestly. Uh dude, he's the QB6 in fantasy points per game.
3:35He's tied with Jared Goff.
3:38He has 295 plus yards and two touchdowns or at least three touchdowns in every game except for one. That's seven of
3:48eight. He's finished as a QB1 in six of his last seven.
3:52And so, his his strength of schedule really toughens up here. The 49ers, Seahawks, Broncos, which is why I, you You of was
4:01it was like, you know, pump your brakes a little bit last week, but I don't know. It's just fact that this just
4:06keeps going. It's And you know, again, I keep saying they really need to trade for a wide receiver here. If they
4:12could if they could add BT Jade on that team and Josh Downs on this team. And so >> He's producing against good defenses
4:20this year though. He's on pace for 42 touchdowns.
4:23>> He Well, what was my set? Dude, he he's been awesome in seven of eight games.
4:27And so he doesn't have league-winning upside, but you know, right now he's a mid-range QB1. That's valuable. That's important.
4:34>> You can do worse at quarterback than Kirk Cousins. That is for sure. So can a lot of NFL teams, right? I mean
4:40I I we brought it up on the show last night. Like should the Raiders actually consider trading him at this point?
4:45Problem is that they're they're like four and four. They got a shot at a wild card potentially. It's a long shot, but
4:51it the shot is still there.
4:54>> I think Klint Kubiak is the new Liam Cohen. And I I mean that in the most complimentary way possible.
4:59>> Right, right.
5:00Horrific liar, but awesome coach.
5:03>> I I mean, this is not a great roster, right? The GM really did him dirty. And it's just massively overachieving and
5:10it's >> Mhm.
5:11>> primarily due to him, I believe. I'll I'll let you tier this one because if I tiered it, we would just have to change
5:17it after we got to the next one, so.
5:21>> [laughter] >> You want to say B?
5:24>> Uh Sure, let's go B.
5:29The next one being J.J. McCarthy.
5:31Who's only owned in 9% of leagues. I I told you to pick him up last week, so you didn't have to deal with any
5:36competition this week.
5:39I got pushed back. Not enough roster spots. Can't roster J.J. on a bye week, but anyways, here we are. Coming out of
5:44his bye, he's only owned in 9% of leagues, which means he's available in 91%.
5:50Um Scott through through two or I should say 1.
5:5625 starts he looks awesome.
5:59Where are you at on J.J. McCarthy?
6:01>> What you tell me where you're at at J.J.
6:03>> We just did Go listen to the bit the argument last week guys. That's what I would say. We we battled it out.
6:10>> That was like a semantics thing where I was like I don't this is he's a D because he has the bye
6:17week and he's going to be available and he's 9% owned but you know you were you were having to fan yourself because of how
6:25hot and bothered you were getting over your excitement for JJ McCarthy.
6:29Uh he has a really soft strength of schedule now it's uh Philly >> four is is crazy.
6:37>> Philly Washington Jacksonville. He's been absolutely incredible. He played less than a full quarter of week six. He had 243 passing
6:46yards.
6:47Um plus some rushing in that game and then week seven uh 252 passing yards
6:57and nine yards per attempt and you I asked you I asked you if if just grading the film if that was a Caleb game where would
7:07that rank in Caleb's career starts? Not to be overly critical of Caleb but it's just like they they really do have a
7:14very similar style of play which we've talked about before.
7:17>> Yeah, JJ's like a year behind in development cuz right cuz he sat a year so Um yeah it it would have been top three
7:25for Caleb for sure.
7:27>> Yeah, so I I pulled it up too by the by the numbers um I don't want to screw this up. Hold on
7:37one second.
7:37>> Yeah, don't don't screw it up Scott.
7:39Come on.
7:41Have you have you done the the Caleb or the JJ versus Dart comparison yet?
7:46That's that's the more important one.
7:50>> Well listen I'm I'm ride or die for Jackson Dart. That's my guy. This is your guy.
7:55Uh so so here's >> my guy.
7:57>> I I had a more impressive stat than this but but here's the the one that I'll I'll I'll just get across the finish
8:02line right now. So he had a nine yards per attempt average in last his last game. Caleb's hit that in only four of
8:1040 career games. So, you know, when you said based on the film, it'd be a top five performance, you know, by the
8:17analytics, I think by catchable throw rate, by completion percentage over expectation, by some of those stats, uh the same thing would hold true.
8:27>> Yeah.
8:28It was also better than anything Jackson Dart's put on tape yet.
8:31>> Right. So, >> I'm I'm not saying that to be inflammatory. I'm being I'm being dead serious. It was. So, >> [snorts]
8:39>> anyways, where are we tearing this out?
8:41Hey, like if you're if you're a Lamar Jackson owner, Kirk Cousins isn't available.
8:45>> All right.
8:46>> Is Is this a good pivot?
8:47>> What? What?
8:48>> It's It's McCarthy versus Cousins.
8:52>> One's available in 91% of leagues, one's available in 44% of leagues. That's a massive difference.
8:59>> Okay, let's say they're both available.
9:01You're going Cousins for sure, right?
9:02>> Yes.
9:03>> Okay. But, we do this relative to cost to acquire.
9:08>> Yeah, which is probably still low for both.
9:11>> All right. And so, give me a comp for McCarthy the rest of the way. What do you see? Like good Jameis Winston?
9:16Good Jacoby Brissett?
9:19>> Why not What Jackson Dart give you last year?
9:22>> He doesn't Listen, he Jackson Dart was leading the league in uh fantasy points per game on scrambles.
9:28I don't see McCarthy doing that.
9:31Cuz that's the big cheat code in fantasy.
9:33>> Okay, let's see him C tier.
9:36>> Low end QB1 rest of the season?
9:39>> Yeah, I think that's fun.
9:40>> Okay.
9:44>> Putting me on the spot for a change.
9:46Look at that.
9:48>> You can handle it. It's why I do it.
9:51>> That's right. Dang right.
9:53Uh let's move over to running backs.
9:56Some interesting conversations to have here. Let's start with Tyler Allgeier.
10:01Jeremiah Love, did he leave the game again injured?
10:03>> Yes.
10:04>> What the heck, man?
10:06>> So, this is a player that a ton of people dropped because Jeremiah Love went down and then Allgeier did nothing. It was a gross
10:16committee with Bam Knight.
10:18Um and then Jeremiah Love was coming back.
10:22But lo and behold, Jeremiah Love gets hurt. He picks up another ankle injury.
10:27Bam Knight gets hurt.
10:29And dude, Allgeier looked awesome. He He balled out. He He had uh 11 carries, 147 rushing yards, five catches, 44 receiving yards, and
10:39two touchdowns.
10:4136 fantasy points. Love is not playing this week. Bam Knight very likely could miss, too.
10:48Uh and so you could see Allgeier as a bell cow this week.
10:54Long term, I think we have more question marks. I will say, talking to Jeff Mueller, he's very pessimistic on on Jeremiah Love. He thinks
11:04there's some IR risk. It could be weeks 12, could be week 15.
11:10But Bam Knight Bam Knight is probably a coin flip to play this week.
11:14>> Yeah, I mean this is great for Allgeier. And and you're you're talking about an improved offensive ecosystem as well with Gardner
11:22Minshew now at the helm.
11:24It looks to be improved anyways.
11:26>> pick. Great pick.
11:27>> I like the the tape I saw. He's going to keep the offense on schedule a little bit better, so >> So I'll let I'll let you tier this and I
11:34think we might have to adjust it immediately based on our next name.
11:39So it's either A tier >> Yeah, I I would say probably S tier.
11:44>> Okay.
11:44>> We're We're in the heart of the make it or break it time of the fantasy season.
11:48It's like if you didn't start hop but still have a chance, you need fantasy points.
11:52Yeah. Allgeier's going to be an elite pick up for you.
11:55>> Yeah, let me just say the concern again is okay, Bam Knight clears concussion protocol and then it's back to being this gross committee
12:02on a pass-heavy offense with a bad defense. And then so it's just you had like you didn't even get your one-week rental out of him.
12:10>> Let me pick your brain on this though.
12:12The the game you're citing where Bam Knight kind of was in a 50/50 split with him. Could that have been game script though? They
12:18were getting just beat down. They they were down by like three scores to the Broncos in that game.
12:23>> It would be weird for it to be game script when Algier is the pass-catching back when it's just him and Jeremiah
12:30Love.
12:31>> I'm just saying maybe they they mailed it in. They just didn't care.
12:33>> was it was the Rams. Bam Knight had 15 carries, two targets. And then Denver, he had seven carries, five targets.
12:41>> Well, he did have 20 touches in the Rams game though. Or sorry, 19 cuz one was called back on an illegal block.
12:46>> how often are the Cardinals going to, you know, beat a team like the Rams and combine for 40 uh running back touches?
12:55>> Well, I mean, they did it.
12:57I don't know.
12:58>> Yeah, but it's yeah, it's a rarity for them. They They're not playing well.
13:03It's not a good team.
13:04>> I think the I think the game script in both those games kind of dictated what happened is what I'm saying.
13:10So, you're you're playing a ball control style game to keep the ball out of Stafford's hands in the Rams.
13:15So, you you feed your running backs.
13:17Algier He didn't disappoint you that week. He still had 19 touches.
13:21>> Okay, so against the Broncos, Algier had only one more carry than Zonovan Knight, Bam Knight.
13:27>> Mhm.
13:28>> And >> And they were getting punched in the mouth the entire game.
13:31>> it doesn't matter.
13:35The the pie wasn't very high, but then you look at the slices and the slices were even. Why would they be even? And
13:40then the week before that, I don't know. Whatever. I This isn't entertaining. This isn't important. I'm just expressing the concern here. Because it's important as
13:52we get to our next running back, who's Mike Washington.
13:56>> Okay.
13:58Why is it important juxtaposed to Mike Washington?
14:01>> Well, it's Listen, we just saw him get 25 of 28 backfield carries with his starter healthy.
14:10Um he had eight carries inside the 10-yard line. He didn't score on any of them, but if he did, he would score a ton of fantasy points
14:18and the the fab to acquire him would be a lot higher. This could just be a one-time benching.
14:25Or Ashton Jeanty could just be the scat back now and we could see Mike Washington get 16 to 18 to 20 carries
14:32per game.
14:34Uh soft matchups coming down the stretch.
14:38And so yeah, it's with Allgeier, I feel like there's a side cap, right? It's like at a certain point Jeremiah Love comes back and then
14:46maybe Bam Knight forces a committee. But with Mike Washington, it's a guy trending up and maybe they just like fully turn away from Ashton Jeanty.
14:57Or what if Ashton Jeanty gets hurt? And so you know, the efficiency wasn't there.
15:03And so it's also certainly possible they just go right back to the well with you know, Jeanty getting 12 plus carries, but I I don't know. I think I
15:11think I kind of like Mike Washington a little bit more.
15:14Or is that too >> Um >> hot takey?
15:19>> I don't know.
15:21I think it's I I think it's a little too hot takey. I think it's way more likely Ashton Jeanty's a threat to Mike
15:26Washington than Bam Knight is to Tyler Allgeier.
15:33>> We just saw Mike Washington get 25 carries with a fully healthy Ashton Jeanty who's like the least efficient running back in football.
15:43Uh >> You don't think it was a soft benching?
15:46A quiet benching?
15:47>> Tyler Allgeier has cleared 11 carries once in his last seven games.
15:54I don't know, man.
15:55I And I it's a better offense. We were just talking about the Raiders and and Kociak.
16:01I let let's put them both as tier. We can let the >> Yeah, that's that's what I was saying. I don't think you need to have like a hard
16:07take on either side of this.
16:11>> Yeah. Well, you see on the screen 6 to 8% of fab for Allgeier, 4 to 6% for Washington.
16:17Personally, I I think I like Washington more straight up. But it's yeah, it's it's a close one both have tier.
16:22>> I think I air Algier a little bit, but definitely trying to add both of them.
16:27>> Yeah.
16:29>> The next guy, Seth McGowan, um you know, there's so many John Taylor rumors. It kind of seems imminent that he's moved at this point.
16:37Right? Like whether it's the Giants, whether it's the Broncos, or the Vikings. It it It does seem like Taylor's getting moved.
16:43We have like What do we have? 9 days between now and the trade deadline? No, 8 days. We're recording this on a Monday, Scott.
16:52So, we'll know in the next 8 days, but in the meantime, you should collect Seth McGowan.
16:57Cuz he's going to be the They have He's the only running back on the roster that's has a pulse.
17:03I don't know that I believe in him or this offense. So, that's that's troubling, but >> Yeah, I mean this is purely a lottery
17:10ticket ad because, you know, it's very possible that the Broncos trade for Jonathan Taylor and then they ship Jonathan Coleman in return, and then
17:18Seth McGowan's nothing.
17:20Um but yeah, I mean like this is what you want in fantasy football where upside wins championships is like the payout of the lottery ticket matters so
17:29much more than just like I mean it's like the same as everything else, you know, it's like you You could pick up any other handcuff
17:38uh where the the starter has the same odds of getting hurt this week as anyone else, and it's like 1% or you know, Seth
17:46May, what are the odds that Jonathan Taylor gets traded and there's no running back sent in return? I don't know, 50%? So, I'm with you. Really soft
17:55matchups coming up, Dallas, Miami, Houston.
17:57>> Yeah, that's nice.
17:59>> What can you tell me about Seth Seth McGowan the prospect? Is there anything there?
18:03In my notes, I had him as uh a 98.5th percentile athlete, so >> Funny tested better than he looked on tape.
18:14>> Yeah.
18:15>> Um didn't love his vision, thought he was a bulky runner. Kind of He definitely runs angry though. Runs like he's mad at the
18:23ground. Think my my comp frame actually was Isaiah Pacheco.
18:26>> Okay.
18:27>> Very Isaiah.
18:28Uh are you concerned at all that DJ Giddens was active and got more carries than him in this this recent game?
18:34Or do you think that was game script cuz they were just getting the tar just crushed?
18:38>> Yeah, I think so. I mean it's possible they just wanted to get a a take a look at both guys, but
18:42>> Yeah, exactly. I I think you're right.
18:45All right, so what are we tearing him out at like C?
18:48>> Yeah.
18:48>> Just on the lottery ticket component of it? Okay.
18:52Kalon Black or Kaylon Black?
18:55>> Can I give you guys some context on Magalen too? Maybe you already know this, but he was arrested in 2021. He
19:00had legal issues and off the field coming out. So I think people look at maybe the seventh round draft capital as he's a nobody,
19:07but he probably would have been he was at Oklahoma. So he he probably would have been a higher pick had he not dealt
19:13with that.
19:15>> Yeah, I'll be honest. My my analytics model really didn't have him too much higher than that.
19:20I know people say that, but >> I I had a day three grade on him too. So >> [sighs] >> Voices from the shadows. Kaylon Black
19:2931% owned.
19:31Which is crazy. Is that just cuz bye week? What is that?
19:35>> Yeah, probably.
19:36>> I mean he's the premium handcuff. He's playing a lot again.
19:39>> Yeah, but that's the thing is handcuffs are a dime a dozen. Emitt Johnson's 19%.
19:45>> Well, Emitt Johnson just went off.
19:48He hadn't done much until then. Kaylon Black's been >> Yeah, but they're two guys you don't have any confidence starting.
19:56Until the incumbent starter goes down.
20:00>> Okay.
20:01I >> The whole thing is like maybe there is some stand-alone value there.
20:07You had Shanahan saying he wants to take more work off CMC's plate.
20:13Uh saw eight carries season high and then 12 carries season high uh his last two games. Uh CMC picked up
20:21a mild hamstring strain in week seven.
20:25We haven't gotten too much clarity on that inside of you know, people looking optimistic, but we've heard that before, especially with the
20:3249ers. So, I think as far as handcuffs go, he's he's a great one. Um >> Yeah, and I I guess the point I was
20:41trying to make is I think he's trending towards maybe being a little bit more than a handcuff. He's already He's already got 60 touches on the season.
20:50It's not It hasn't been like nothing.
20:51Like he's he's had a a role in every game they've played to where Emmit Johnson's got 30 touches so far this season. It's It's not quite
21:00the same thing.
21:00>> I mean, he's still going to be like a low-end RB3 in our projections, which means you're you don't want to start
21:05him, but maybe it trends continues to trend or >> Yeah.
21:10Um do you want to go with D tier for him then?
21:16>> Yeah.
21:18>> Just cuz McGowan as a lottery ticket seems a little bit more impactful.
21:21>> here's the thing, keep an eye on We're recording this on Monday. Keep an eye on >> Yeah.
21:25>> news because, you know, if there's any negative vibes on CMC, he could easily be B tier A tier.
21:32Or A tier. I mean, like it's kind of the same as your thesis, but >> Agreed. All right, up next we have
21:38Nicholas Singleton, Scott.
21:41Only owned to 1% of leagues. I I might You putting on here just cuz Tony Pollard might get moved? Is that Is that
21:45what's going on?
21:46>> Yeah, I think so. You know, I I [ __ ] all over Pollard on our episode last night and said, you know, massive sell high.
21:54And uh I don't know, I kind of slept on it and I was like, you know, has Tennessee turned a corner cuz they won week six.
22:03>> Mhm.
22:04>> The next week they lost only by three.
22:06Last week they lost uh to the Bengals in overtime.
22:10>> Right.
22:10>> scored 20 plus points in three straight.
22:12Ryan had this great note courtesy of Pat Thorman is they went no huddle 41% of the time in week eight. No other team
22:20has hit even percent this year, but they were 29% in week seven. And so that's kind of like one of the big cheat codes
22:29uh one of the efficiency cheat codes cuz if you could trap a defense in sub personnel on the field and go no-huddle,
22:35that's like one of the best ways to actually uh have a really efficient running game.
22:40And so I I don't know.
22:45Maybe I still think he's a sell high, but like maybe I was a little too harsh on him. And then it's also like
22:55how likely do you see a Pollard trade?
22:57Because like if it's up to the owner and GM, it's yeah, they're they don't want any good players over the age of 26 on this
23:06team right now. You know, they they just want picks and picks. They're going the full-on tank and bank dynasty approach.
23:12Um but it's also, you know, you need to have find a buyer. So maybe one of these teams that lose out on Jonathan Taylor
23:18come knocking. How likely do you see see it happening?
23:23>> The only team I've heard even remotely linked to them was the Detroit Lions.
23:27>> Okay.
23:28>> And what's crazy is Sione Vaki had like an awesome game yesterday as a back as the backup to get in like the just the
23:34counter play in the the the counter punch style for Vaki as like a physical downhill guy to Gibbs' speed makes sense. Where I don't know that Pollard
23:43has all that in the tank. So I don't know.
23:47I I'm not I'm not too confident he gets moved. He also it's a it's an expensive cap hit actually. They don't There's not
23:52a lot of guaranteed money on the contract. So it will cost the team acquiring him about 6 million. There's just not a lot of teams with 6 million
23:59in in available cap space to even make a move like that. So >> Well, what >> I think I think that could be
24:05prohibitive.
24:06>> Well, what about Nicholas Singleton? Do you you think he's >> He also sucks.
24:09>> Okay, nice. We're we're in agreement there. I thought he was just a guy.
24:13>> Yeah, I mean in the context of this draft class like I I was fine with the team taking him as like an you early day
24:18three as a dark throw. But like he's a pass down guy. He's not even a a run like he's Tony Pollard is light years
24:25better than him as a runner.
24:27>> Yeah.
24:28>> And so I think the overlap is with Tajae Spears and yeah, F tier him for sure.
24:32>> Yeah, so he's F tier, but just keep in mind like no one's truly an F tier if they made it to this show. You know, so
24:37if you're in a really deep league, don't don't feel bad taking like there's certainly a pathway uh to him being a relevant name. Uh but
24:45yeah, agree with you on the F tier. I think we have one last running back to hit on.
24:49>> Yeah, Emitt Johnson, the guy who just went bonkers in their game against the Broncos, had a 73-yard reception.
24:55Only owned in 19% of leagues and it's funny cuz you you go back to like beginning of the season, all of our
25:00early, even preseason waiver wire shows.
25:03Late round picks and waiver wires we did, we talked about Emitt Johnson, we talked about Jonathan Coleman, we talked about K'Lavon Chaisson, Mike Washington,
25:10right? These are all the guys we're we're still trying to acquire now.
25:14Um I don't have a hard like Kenneth Walker's so good, I don't I don't trust him to have many bad games, right? So,
25:20you're dependent on that, dependent on an injury. But he does seem to have like a little bit of a receiving role here.
25:25What do you What do you say, Scott?
25:27>> Well, it's like let's say Jonathan Taylor gets traded and it's the Saquon Barkley show, like, what are you expecting? I'm expecting
25:3612 carries, two targets on a bad team with a bad offensive line that doesn't have Quenton Nelson anymore.
25:44If Kenneth Walker goes down, what are you expecting? It's like there's a world where Emitt Johnson gets six targets and 14 carries every single
25:54week on a great offense that, you know, needs that a lot.
25:58>> great offense?
26:00>> I mean, on a on a great team with amazing game script that scores a lot of touchdowns.
26:06>> They'll be in most games, yep. I like >> So, if you're talking about handcuffs purely, there's a ton of value there.
26:12And maybe like K'Lavon Chaisson, there's some standalone value or there's a pathway to standalone value where it's like all these receivers stink, you
26:20know, this guy is actually a really good pass catcher. Let's put him in the Jerick McKinnon role that once upon a
26:25time you know, had some standalone value.
26:29So, while also have know, and this guy also has a handcuff contingent upside.
26:36Uh yeah, I don't I don't know. C-tier, B-tier, D-tiers.
26:40I like him. I like him, but it's just it's dependent on your team. Do you have the roster spot? And again, it's you
26:46want to be chasing upside and he has that.
26:48>> I also don't want to overreact to a crazy stat line that was contingent on a busted coverage.
26:54>> Has has very little to do with that, I think.
26:55>> Right. Right. Right. Exactly. D-tier?
26:58>> Sure.
27:00>> All right. Uh the next guy we're going to do is um New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers.
27:06>> Yeah, so if he's available in your league, I you have to I I would spend all of my FAB and you know even factoring in cost
27:14to acquire, he's an S-tier for me.
27:18Do you agree?
27:19>> I agree. I think we got to go S-tier.
27:21>> Okay.
27:21>> For sure. Absolute stud.
27:23>> Yeah.
27:24>> And we and we got his quarterback in C-tier. So, I think it's a really good pairing there. So, >> Yeah, shout out to Justin Jefferson who
27:32uh maybe longs for the days of J.J.
27:35McCarthy.
27:37>> Couldn't be me.
27:39All right. Jordan Tyson next on the list. 51% owned. It's crazy his ownership is still that high and he hasn't played a freaking snap yet.
27:47>> Well, it's cuz we talk about him on every episode.
27:49>> Well, you do. I I try to avoid it, but you do.
27:52Although it does seem like the time is now. Uh the Saints coming out of their bye.
27:58Um you know, you you you you've been bagging on De'Von Achane all season. So, during the Saints bye week, I did some
28:04scouting for the Saints.
28:06Spent some time watching De'Von Achane.
28:07I think you're right. I think he kind of sucks.
28:10So, um >> I like it. I like it.
28:13>> Yeah, well, and he's really redundant to Juwan Johnson, actually.
28:16>> Yeah. Yep.
28:17>> Like they're very the way they win's very similar. Like you don't need two of those. It's good to have one, but you
28:21don't need two. And so I I definitely think Jordan Tyson probably slides in. I will say though, Berrian Brown looks really good. Bryce Young looks really
28:30good. So, it's It's they've a really nice collection of young receivers here. It's why they should have traded Olave to the Raiders.
28:37They should have just did it, but whatever.
28:39Um >> There's still time, Brett.
28:41>> There's still time. I It was one of my preseason bold take predictions though.
28:45Olave to the Raiders. Didn't >> what you should have done for the Wednesday show that that I'm not around for is uh
28:51ideal trades. Like if you could just >> Ooh. What? It's It's not too late to pivot. By the way, spoiler alert, Scott
28:58won't be here for Wednesday show and we have a guest coming.
29:01>> Yeah, sorry guys. Um I have surgery.
29:03I'll But I'll I'll be fine.
29:06Everything's good.
29:07>> Scott Scott will be fine.
29:09That's uh that's all we can say about the injury report right now.
29:13Check Check back in for his his Thursday game status later in the week.
29:17>> [sighs] >> Uh yeah. So, Jordan Addison though, you're you're you've been bullish. I'll let you slot him here just cuz I I don't
29:24have much more to say other than what I've already said, but >> I'll go A tier. Yeah. Someone Someone asked me recently who is like this
29:30year's Rashad Penny or this year's rookie Amon-Ra or this year like kind of comes out of nowhere that everyone forgot about. I feel like it
29:37has to be Jordan Addison on just an offense where, you know, we've seen you know, a lot of, you know, fantasy
29:44points being scored, really high pace of play, high PRo.
29:48Uh and it's just, you know, Valdes is like top 12 in targets, but he just is doing nothing with it. So, yeah, just
29:55bring in the you know, round one draft pick, really high pedigree, caught a ton of balls in college. I I see a ton of upside and that's what I
30:05keep saying, you know, upside's the most important thing. So, A tier in Jordan Addison.
30:10>> All right.
30:12Makai Lemon.
30:14I will say I'd rather have Addison than Lemon. How about that?
30:17>> Yeah. Well, hey, listen. Uh he's had team highs in targets in back-to-back weeks. He cleared 55 receiving yards in both games.
30:25>> Yeah.
30:25>> Devonta Smith can't get healthy. And Tanner McKee targeting the middle of the field a lot more than Jalen Hurts ever
30:32did.
30:32>> Helps when you're 6'6".
30:34>> The only problem is maybe he stinks.
30:41>> He has the athleticism of a toddler.
30:44That's what I've been saying.
30:45>> Yeah, for those who don't know, Brett and I caught a lot of [ __ ] this off-season for uh being very pessimistic on Quez Watkins.
30:52Uh neither of us are willing to We're digging our heels in on that. We're unwilling to Certainly have not seen enough to admit we're wrong, so
31:01>> I'll capitulate a little. I'll say the role they have him in is the ideal role.
31:04>> Yeah.
31:05>> Like you're going to put him slot heavy, you know, middle of the field dominant, try to get him in these run-after-catch
31:11opportunities. That is the correct role for him. He, you know, so I I think they're doing a a good thing in trying to maximize him, so it's it's
31:19helpful. Tanner McKee obviously helps, too, versus Jalen Hurts.
31:23>> The goat.
31:24>> The goat. Um where do you want to slide him? I I think B-tier is probably fine.
31:28>> No.
31:29>> No? I mean, he's getting the volume to He can't be worse than B-tier. He's getting the volume, Scott.
31:34He's their number one receiver right now.
31:36>> Barely. He I said he had 55 plus yards in both He was at like 58 in both games.
31:41He's D-tier. He's D-tier.
31:43>> D-tier?
31:44>> Yeah, he's screwed.
31:45>> Can Can we split the gap at C?
31:47>> Sure.
31:48Look at you, world's biggest Quez Watkins fan all of a sudden.
31:52>> Well, it's I learned this from you. You're Remember, I'm the fantasy novice. You're the expert. But like volume is king, and
32:00I see this guy trending into a role that like even doesn't matter how bad he is at that role, if the volume's going to
32:05be there and if they're going to use him the correct way, he's going to be relative, you know? He's going to be
32:10He's going to be important for fantasy.
32:11>> Yeah, hopefully DeVonta Smith comes back soon. Um and he again, he He did have eight targets, nine targets the last two
32:18weeks, but he also 5.6 yards per target average, which is absolutely pathetic.
32:25>> Bro, some some of the reps are actually really funny, too. I encourage anyone to go watch the All-22.
32:30>> Um well, let's talk about another slot wide receiver who I think is is fairly intriguing.
32:35>> I You know what? I I take a big-time it this is disrespectful you put this guy on here. You did this for one reason
32:42and one reason only.
32:43>> [laughter] >> See, the fact that you laughed, you know exactly what I'm talking about. The fact that you laughed, you know exactly why
32:50what I'm talking about.
32:52Ryan Flournoy >> Uh-huh. The second best wide receiver on the Cowboys.
32:56>> exactly. I knew I knew [laughter] that's the route you were going to take. I knew it.
33:00>> I So, I swear I did I It wasn't that, but that that's hilarious. So, I He's They're all like Handcuff running backs
33:07are a thing. Handcuff wide receivers aren't really a thing. He might be the one guy who qualifies.
33:12Uh but we're seeing that stand-alone value. He's at 11-plus fantasy points in four straight games.
33:17Uh he's passed Jake Ferguson as the clear number three on the team.
33:21Uh Jake Ferguson, it looks like he's out. And last year he averaged 13.4 fantasy points per game in the six games
33:29he he cleared a 50% snap share. George Pickens is playing through an injury. He's also like a diva in that case
33:39where, you know, maybe he goes AWOL, in which case Flournoy would be awesome.
33:43Like Flournoy way more upside than a Mecole Hardman, in my opinion. And he gets a slot funnel Colts matchup this week. So, you you get some stand-alone
33:52value this week.
33:54Where honestly the projection shouldn't be Their projection is probably like 0.2 off of Mecole Hardman, and then some upside if the
34:02the Pickens injury lingers or and um but I don't know. D-tier, honestly, probably.
34:10>> Yeah, I think that's fair.
34:11>> Some of these guys I bring up just to make you aware of. Like they're they're a D-tier for the waiver add, but they're
34:19an S-tier for your waiver wire watch list, where you can flag them or better yet, you could be in the Fantasy Points
34:24Front Office Tool and do that. Track them every week. You get basically reminders when you're setting your waivers next week or the week after.
34:32It's like, "Oh, I need to pick up four guys. Oh, yeah, that's right. Scott said something about Ryan Flournoy." So.
34:37>> Yeah, and And did you see Pickens' behavior after the game yesterday? I mean >> No, I didn't.
34:40>> Okay, he just like sprinted off the field by himself.
34:44>> Well, that's that's what I'm saying. The guy is like a lunatic. And so when when that happens, there's there's there's a
34:50pathway. Like he could be traded. You never know.
34:52>> When he's Well, he's not under contract next year, Scott. It is It is worth noting if the Cowboys keep losing games,
34:58we're definitely on Pickens checking out watch, 100%. Cuz he's not going to want to get injured, you know.
35:04>> Great dynasty buy with Yeah.
35:07>> Yeah. Fournette can ball a bit, too. He He's a good player.
35:09This Cowboys offense is is such um >> Swales is a big Fournette guy. He said that like week two last year. He's like,
35:17"There's something there with this guy."
35:18>> Yeah.
35:19The The Cowboys offense is an enigma, man. It's like good offensive line, good running back, good receivers, good tight end, well, above average tight end.
35:28>> I was talking >> Dak. And it's like, "Why can't they just be awesome?" It doesn't make any sense.
35:33>> I was talking to my buddy about this. I said they're the Mets of the NFL.
35:37>> Oh my god, that's a good comp.
35:38>> Where they're like not even a bad team, they're just a meme.
35:42>> Yeah.
35:42>> Like just like everything is always funny and it like just doesn't make sense and it's just like "Why does this
35:47keep happening?" And it's like, "I don't know. It's because like you're in a Bermuda triangle of suck and weirdness."
35:52>> Yep.
35:53But here here's what's ex- This is exactly what's going to happen with the Cowboys though. So they've been whittling us down, where like every week
35:59we lose a little bit more and more confidence. And then right when you and I check out, we're like, "Sell off these
36:05players." They're going to explode for like three games and it's going to be like 40-point outings.
36:09>> Uh-huh.
36:10>> Um and that's exactly what's going to Cuz Dak does this to me every year. I swear to I swear to you, every single
36:15year he does this to me.
36:16>> It has to be in like a stretch you really don't expect, like up against some good defenses.
36:21>> [laughter] >> Yes.
36:22Yeah, they'll go against the Vikings and you know, just all of a sudden start nuking people.
36:28All right, next on the list is my guy.
36:31Amon-Ra Williams.
36:34Washington Commanders slot receiver.
36:36Baby Ra himself.
36:38Led the Commanders in targets yesterday, Scott, on Sunday Night Football.
36:41>> Oh, hang the banner.
36:43>> Hang the ba- Yes.
36:45Yes, this is the This is the path we want. This is the trajectory we need.
36:49I've been saying they got to get this guy more targets. They got to play him more.
36:52And it's it's starting to come. This is another example though of just a guy to keep watching, right? Got to keep
36:57watching. I don't know that he's going to rank super high here on the tier maker for right now. Still has Stefon
37:01Diggs in the way. Still has apparently Treylon Burks in the way.
37:06>> Okay.
37:07>> What do you What do you say? What do you say?
37:09>> Well, you've seen three games without one of McLaurin or Diggs. And across the three games, he averages 7.2 fantasy points per game.
37:19If he's as good as you say he is, it that number would be a lot higher.
37:23So, I I'm skeptical.
37:25>> Here No, here's an important clarification I always have to make.
37:28>> Yeah.
37:30>> Cuz a lot of times my takes come out in the they're positioned to be my take versus consensus, right?
37:39>> Uh-huh.
37:39>> So, I think Antonio Williams is a way better player than consensus. So, it comes out that I'm like, "Man, go add this guy everywhere. I don't care
37:48who you have to drop." But really all I'm saying is like I I think he's a really good prospect. But considering
37:54the draft capital, I wouldn't expect him to be producing at a high level yet. I definitely think it's in the cards
38:00though as the season goes on. That's basically what I'm trying to say.
38:03But I'm bullish on it. I think long term, this is going to be a fantastic receiver in the NFL.
38:08>> All right.
38:09Above or below Mecole Hardman?
38:12Or even?
38:13>> Above. Put him Put him top of C-tier. Top Top guy in C-tier.
38:19>> There you go. Okay.
38:20>> You good?
38:20>> That's fine. Yeah.
38:22>> All right.
38:23We have a A/S-tier coming, I think.
38:28Adonai Mitchell, the New York Jets.
38:31>> [sighs] >> You would go that high?
38:33>> Well, that's why I said I think. I don't know. We have to talk it out. I really need We got to talk about this cuz this
38:37is like brother.
38:41I Scott, we we did this with Omar Cooper last week. You and I both said this guy has league winning upside. We totally
38:47just forgot that Frank Reich is is the Mao Zedong of coaches. If Drake Maye's the Mao Zedong of of quarterbacks.
38:56The this rotation they have is disgusting. I know we've mentioned it 70 times now, but it's it really is gross.
39:02They're playing five receivers, they're playing four tight ends. Geno's spreading the ball around.
39:07So I don't know. I when I watched the tape though, I'm like him and Cooper are awesome.
39:12And there's no reason they can't move forward with these guys as the top their top two wide receivers.
39:16I think Garrett Wilson should have been traded yesterday to be to be honest with you.
39:19>> Bro, listen to this stat. You ready?
39:22>> Yeah.
39:22>> The New York Jets wide receivers when all three are on the field together at the same time.
39:29Omar Cooper Jr. is 3.84.
39:33That's elite. That's top three. Adonai Mitchell >> Yards per route run.
39:37>> Okay.
39:38>> Adonai Mitchell 3.24.
39:41>> Also elite.
39:41>> That's top five. That's elite.
39:43Garrett Wilson 0.97.
39:47>> No.
39:48>> That's not even inside the top 100 wide receivers.
39:51>> That has to be an incredibly small sample then.
39:54>> No. No. And so and and you you see it too in in just games that one of the other played in full, he really turns
40:02into a beta. Here's the other stat I had.
40:06In 2022 Garrett Wilson was wide receiver seven in targets, wide receiver 31 in fantasy points per game. Next year, wide receiver four in targets, wide receiver
40:1534 in fantasy points per game. 2024, wide receiver three in targets, wide receiver 20 in fantasy points per game.
40:212025, wide receiver six in targets per game, wide receiver 20 in fantasy points per game.
40:29Basically the exact same thing this year.
40:31>> And we've always given him the QB excuse before.
40:34>> For four straight years, we've given him the QB excuse. And everyone's oh, he finally has a good quarterback. He Like
40:42yeah.
40:44He also has the the toughest target competition of his career. He's only ever played with one, like, non-awful wide receiver, which is Davante Adams
40:52for eight games, where he kind of totally disappeared and was like feuding with Aaron Rodgers on the sideline.
40:59And so, I don't know. Like, you're going to have Jets fans crying, dynasty owners crying, but like, typically, when a guy is underwhelmed to
41:10a degree such as this for as long as he has, something's wrong. Like, you're not You're not as good as The same thing
41:17with Calvin Ridley, the same thing with I don't know, tons of guys. And so, yeah.
41:25What do you think? Is Garrett Wilson really an elite route runner, one of the best wide receivers in football, and just weird [ __ ] keeps happening to him?
41:32>> He's He's an elite route runner with some of the best size-adjusted ball skills I've ever seen.
41:37So, like, and and here's the other component we kind of didn't mention.
41:42Is it possible Cooper and AT Perry Mitchell are having these games because Garrett Wilson is drawing shadow coverage? Because when they played the
41:49New England Patriots, he has got Christian Gonzalez in his grill the entire game, which means you know who doesn't? Omar Cooper or AT Perry
41:57Mitchell.
41:59So, like, there's that component. It's like, I I'd be careful calling him, like, a beta when in the real reality is
42:04he's probably drawing the tougher match-up and Frank Reich is correctly putting the ball in other people's hands.
42:11>> I mean, is that happening? Is it Is it happening against the Patriots?
42:15>> It's for sure happening against the Patriots. Yeah, there's a lot of natural brackets that happens, but like, >> [sighs] >> but yeah, if I mean, Christian Gonzalez
42:23straight up >> yards every week in triple coverage?
42:26>> because you're watching modern-day Jerry Rice, Scott. That's why.
42:30It's not the same I mean, there's levels to this, right? JSN's in a different planet, man.
42:35He's awesome. Garrett Wilson could be a great receiver and not be JSN.
42:39Yeah. So, >> but anyway, this conversation's about AT Perry Mitchell. And I think there's just too much uncertainty here because you
42:44have Garrett Wilson, who supposedly is top 10, and you have Omar Cooper, who did something that's almost never been done in NFL history. 100-plus yards in
42:55his first two full NFL games, and now you have the ask out, and I think it's just kind of going to be a a
43:01frustrating headache unless Garrett Wilson gets traded, but it doesn't sound like that's a possibility.
43:07>> Well, at least they're pushing back on that. Although, I would say Scott, and I'm the biggest Aaron Glenn guy there is, after this
43:15loss this week, I think you got to go back to the drawing board and just say, "You know what? We're we're still not there.
43:21We need a new coach, and I'd be looking to sell."
43:25And their their GM seems relatively smart when it comes to that. You just think back to the Sauce trade a year
43:30ago.
43:31Um the Leonard or sorry, who who else did they trade last year? They traded somebody else.
43:37I'm blanking. Anyways.
43:39All right, let's move on.
43:40Oh, we got to slot him. Sorry. Um let's go B-tier, to be fair.
43:46And if they trade Garrett Wilson, he's absolutely a mandatory add.
43:50>> Yeah.
43:52>> Demario Douglas next. Uh Pop Douglas.
43:56I I don't know how much I like this. It is the spread the the New England Patriots super spreader offense, and the
44:02volume's still not great. He converted on a deep ball yesterday, so the stat line looks all right, but like the volume's not great. Am I wrong?
44:08>> but so that was the exact argument I was going to make, and then I just kind of thought about it a little bit.
44:13He is balling out. And like when you're balling out, that generally leads to more targets. And let's not forget the Patriots are down Romeo Dobbs, A.J.
44:22Brown, Mack Hollins, Hunter Henry. This is a super spreader offense, but can you really be a super spreader offense with all those injuries? Unless Easton Stick
44:32really is uh the next Julian Edelman, Wes Welker.
44:36Um Demario Douglas' last four games, 16.3 fantasy points per game. Sure, only five targets per game, but 16 And we saw this
44:46last year, too, for stretches, where Stefon Diggs was awesome, but uh Demario Douglas would outshine him every now and then. Uh some favorable matches
44:55match-ups coming up the next two weeks.
44:58I I was I was prepared, I think, to to go DT or something, and then I just he's kind of grown on me.
45:07Maybe maybe the B tier, honestly.
45:11>> Yo, bro.
45:13>> Bro.
45:14Dude.
45:16>> You're not lying about him balling out.
45:17He is dominating separation metrics right now.
45:20>> Hell yeah.
45:20>> He among all pass catchers with at least 75 routes run from the slot, which that's what he is, he's a primary slot guy.
45:27He's third in separation score. You know who the two above him?
45:32>> Who?
45:32>> Zay Flowers and Brock Bowers.
45:34>> Damn.
45:35>> So, like he's in elite company.
45:38>> Damn.
45:39>> And what we do know about the separation numbers, while it's not a catch-all for receiver play, it is the most predictive
45:45non-production stat there is. So, to your point, if you're balling, you usually get more opportunities. My man is balling. We know separation. Oh, by
45:55the way, separation from the slot is harder than on the outside, because it's harder to get graded plays, cuz you don't see a ton of man coverage, right?
46:03So, you you're playing a lot of like soft zones. Well, those usually get zero graded. So, it's that's really impressive. I'm
46:10impressed.
46:11All right, where are we slotting him?
46:12You said B tier.
46:13>> Yeah.
46:14>> Cool.
46:15Cool. We got one more.
46:17Actually, I'm going to throw in a bonus at the end. I know Trey doesn't have the graphic, that's okay.
46:21But Brian Thomas Jr. for now. 43% owned.
46:24He caught one pass, scored a touchdown.
46:26But another trade candidate.
46:29Week 9 is almost here. I I think he's going to be moved. It does sound like it, right? Is that what
46:34you're hearing, too?
46:34>> Yeah.
46:36>> Um, they the Jags even put out a graphic yesterday. Did you see this?
46:40>> Yeah, tell the listeners.
46:41>> They they put out a graphic right before kickoff on on Sunday yesterday.
46:47And it said weapons.
46:49And it had a picture of their pass all their pass catchers. They left BTJ off the freaking graphic.
46:54>> Yeah.
46:56>> I mean, look, I I I understand they might not they might be down on it, but he was a first round
47:01pick 2 years ago.
47:02>> Yeah.
47:02>> They left him off the graphic? For why?
47:05>> Yeah.
47:06>> So, I don't know. I I think a trade is is imminent here. By the way, are we going to do Are we going to do a trade
47:13uh trade deadline live show? Didn't we do one last year?
47:16>> I don't know.
47:18>> Are we going to do one?
47:19>> Sure.
47:21>> We'll have to get permission from from uh our boss.
47:23>> How How good is How good is BTJ?
47:28And it's fine if your answer is I don't know.
47:30>> I think Yeah, I was just saying I think the appropriate question is how good can he be?
47:34>> Yeah.
47:34>> It's like the Marvin Harrison Jr.
47:35corollary where it's like I know that it's in there somewhere.
47:39It's like we need to rebuild the mind, rebuild the you know, [snorts] I mean, seriously, I It's like >> Yeah.
47:47>> Do you know in basketball they there are what?
47:50>> No, go ahead.
47:51>> In basketball, when you get the yips and you lose confidence, it's like a big deal. They Basketball teams at the
47:57college level, they will hire psychiatrists just for one player.
48:02Just to work on confidence, to gas them up all the time, tell them they're sweet, just to get that confidence back.
48:06The NFL start needs to start doing this cuz there there's guys that once they lose it, they don't get it back.
48:11BTJ would be a guy I'm I'm all over though. Like if if you can acquire him for a a third round pick or a fourth round
48:19pick in the real real NFL, I'd be all over him. Yeah, he's got a ton of talent.
48:23>> Yeah. You know what I was just thinking?
48:26>> What?
48:27>> Imagine Imagine the Vikings trading for BTJ and Mac Jones.
48:36>> That would be disgusting.
48:37>> Yeah, how sick would that be?
48:38>> By the way, just you just setting that up just reminded me so much of me talking to like my 6-year-old.
48:43She's [laughter] like that. She's like knows I'm talking to my wife or something, so she's got to patiently wait. Daddy?
48:50Hold on, sweetie. Wait 1 second. Let me finish my point here. Daddy?
48:54And then as soon as I'm done, she's so excited to tell me what she wants to say. That was you just now. What if the
48:59Vikings trade for Mac Jones and BTJ?
49:02>> Broncos Broncos could do that.
49:04>> You know who should trade for for Mac Jones? It's Baltimore.
49:08>> Oh, duh.
49:09>> or Beijing. Or Beijing, yeah.
49:10>> That's who I was trying to get to. But yeah.
49:13>> Yeah.
49:14All right. Um I got my bonus one just to real quick thoughts on him. You ready?
49:19Oh, we got a slot Thomas.
49:21I D tier? F tier?
49:23>> Yeah, D tier.
49:24>> Cuz if he doesn't get moved, he's just dead.
49:27So.
49:27>> Still.
49:28>> Um bonus one.
49:31New England Patriots tight end Eli Raredon.
49:34>> He He was on the show sheet.
49:37>> What?
49:39>> Uh Eli Raredon, Terrance Ferguson, Mike Gesicki. Did I not put them in the show sheet?
49:43>> No, you didn't. You You didn't put any tight ends in the show sheet.
49:45>> I guess my copy and paste didn't work.
49:48>> All right, well let's talk Eli Raredon.
49:50>> Okay.
49:51>> Hunter Henry >> snap share, 77% route share. Hunter Henry looks like he's going to be out a couple of weeks at least.
49:58Uh and he's been kind of good. He's been like quietly awesome. Three plus catches, 56 plus yards in two of his
50:05last four with Henry.
50:07Um this was Max Dissly's tight end one.
50:11I think he's fine. If you If you're desperate to start a tight end, he probably checks in as a high end tight end two in our
50:20projections.
50:21>> Yeah. I'd go D tier, but you know, he's interesting.
50:26Yeah, I think D tier >> in two weeks.
50:30>> What's free points?
50:31>> Right.
50:32>> I mean even as good as Detroit's defense has played the last 3 weeks, they still stink against tight ends. Hockenson had
50:37a good week, right?
50:38>> Yeah.
50:39>> Um man.
50:42Okay. Uh maybe more of a name for dynasty.
50:46>> Oh, yeah. Love Love Eli Raredon for dynasty.
50:49>> Yeah.
50:49>> Huge.
50:49>> Especially in those tight end premium leagues.
50:51>> Yeah, and then and Terrance Ferguson was the other one, but it sounds like he's going to be out another week.
50:57Uh so you have time on him. And then Mike Gesicki was the other one I had on my list. He has a touchdown in seven of
51:03eight games. He did just see a 72% route share last week in the first game without Eric All.
51:11Um, but he was at just 51% before that.
51:16You think there's anything there or no?
51:18>> Your bum gumping is your gum bumping is is causing you to miss greatness right now. Motion man just in the blink of an
51:24eye got three tight ends in the in the hopper.
51:27Uh, live on the show. No, no one does it like him. Where we slotting Raheem?
51:32D-tier?
51:33>> D-tier.
51:34>> D-tier.
51:35Ferguson probably F cuz he's not ready to go.
51:38>> I'd go C-tier still.
51:39>> C-tier, really?
51:39>> I just like the upside.
51:40>> Okay, and then and then Gesicki?
51:42>> Yeah, I'm asking you.
51:44Do you think this is real? I mean >> I've been all over Gesicki this season in general.
51:49Um, you you've tend to poopoo me on that one, so >> I would put him C-tier.
51:55>> I think he's good. I think he's their their third option in the pass game.
51:58>> Yeah.
51:58>> Um, he's a seam stretcher as well, so when he catches balls they're usually big plays.
52:03>> Yeah. So So he's C-tier, but if his route share isn't over 70% next week, he's a drop.
52:10>> This is ugly. We got to bump someone to B-tier. Can we bump Antonio Williams to B-tier? Yeah, yeah, do it. Oh, that's so
52:16much better.
52:17All right.
52:19>> You're OCD.
52:22>> Well, I want the viewers to be able to see everyone on the screen, Scott.
52:24That's really what it comes down to. I'm just a man of the people.
52:27>> We can bump Neighbors down to B-tier if that helps.
52:30>> Do you know what's a great week?
52:32>> What's that?
52:33>> Did you know what's a great week this week?
52:34>> Is it? Why?
52:35>> know why it's a great week?
52:37>> Why?
52:37>> Cuz after tomorrow, Scott, so by the time the listeners are listening to this, they never have to see a political
52:43ad for the next 2 years.
52:45>> I love the political ads. I think they're great.
52:48I'm just getting more knowledgeable about politics. It's awesome.
52:51>> Yeah, I'm sure you are. I'm sure there's nothing but truthful statements in all those ads.
52:57All right, that's going to do it for us today.
52:59>> Today's show sponsored by James Talarico.
53:05>> [laughter] >> Is that cuz you live in Texas? Did you know that?
53:07>> I get a million James Tyler Rico.
53:10Yeah.
53:12>> Yeah.
53:12>> I don't vote, so.
53:14>> You don't have to say that. You don't need to tell people that.
53:16>> Voting is not >> It's a private matter.
53:20>> Never voted never.
53:21>> blame you though, but anyways. All right, that's going to do it for us today. I will be back without Scott
53:27tomorrow with a special guest. I won't announce you who yet, but he's someone you guys know and love.
53:33But while Scott's out, keep him in your thoughts. It's a It's a minor >> Paul Rudd?
53:39That's crazy.
53:41How'd you get Paul Rudd?
53:43>> [snorts] >> Fun fact about that, Paul Rudd's actually been on a Fantasy Points production before.
53:47>> Dude, he's a Fantasy Points subscriber.
53:49Shout out Paul Rudd.
53:49>> He's a friend of >> Did I just dox him? Am I not allowed to say that?
53:52Shout out Paul, if you're listening.
53:54>> No, he's been on the show. He's been on John's show, yeah. Yeah.
53:57Um maybe maybe I should I should text John, "Hey, can you can you get me Paul Rudd for tomorrow?"
54:02>> Bro, we got Yo, if I if I ever leaked the the Fantasy Points subscribers, we've got some wild biggest television shows out there right
54:11now.
54:13We've got some multi-multi-millionaires.
54:17Shout out to uh the Fantasy Points subscribers. Not Not going to dox you though.
54:20>> billionaires.
54:21>> It's safe with me.
54:22>> Elon Musk, you know, the show brought to you by Tesla.
54:26>> No.
54:29>> It's makes sense.
54:29>> I wonder if James Tyler Rico's a subscriber. [music] Maybe I should I should >> You're ridiculous. All right, folks.
54:35Thank you so much for listening. We are out.
54:38>> [music]
