Rob Gronkowski will be inducted into the New England Patriots Hall of Fame on November 7, 2026, at Patriot Place Plaza in his first year of eligibility. The 37-year-old tight end is the 38th inductee since the Hall was established in 1991 and the second tight end after Ben Coates (2008) to receive the honor. During his nine seasons with the Patriots (2010–2018), Gronkowski appeared in 115 regular season games with 521 receptions for 7,861 yards and 79 touchdowns, plus 81 catches for 1,163 yards and 12 scores across 16 playoff games. He won three of his four total Super Bowls with New England, earned five Pro Bowl selections and four All-Pro honors, and was named to the Patriots' All-Dynasty Team, 2010s All-Decade Team, and the NFL's 100th Anniversary Team. Gronkowski beat guard Logan Mankins and kicker Adam Vinatieri in the fan vote for induction.

Gronkowski is projected as a first-ballot Hall of Fame selection in the 2027 class. The source notes his case as potentially the best tight end in league history, citing his devastating blocking at the line of scrimmage, his unequaled connection with Tom Brady, his peak dominance on vertical throws and in the open field, and his outsized Super Bowl performance (second-most career touchdown catches with five, third-most receptions with 29, and third-most receiving yards with 364 across four titles). The source predicts "any questions about his candidacy get spiked with great force and he joins Belichick in enshrinement."

Gronkowski is cited as one of just 18 tight ends since 2017 who scored 12-plus PPR points per game (minimum 8 games) while being drafted as TE10 or later. The 2021 version (age 32) is highlighted as one of only four outliers who succeeded without being in a new offense AND despite ample pass-game competition (Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown). He benefited from playing in an immensely productive passing game led by longtime stud QB Tom Brady. He is also noted as one of only four 30-plus-year-olds to qualify in the broader study.

The source identifies Gronkowski as a major draft miss and the biggest almost-Raven in franchise history. The Ravens nearly drafted him twice in 2010. Gronkowski told a story where he said the Ravens were going to pick him at #25 overall in 2010, likely their top option once Dez Bryant was taken. Instead, the Broncos traded up with the Ravens to take that pick and draft Tim Tebow. Later, in the second round, the Ravens were prepared to take Gronk again at #43 overall, probably thrilled he had fallen so far after prepping to take him with the 25th pick. Instead, the Patriots drafted him at 42. The source argues Gronk was possibly the greatest tight end in NFL history and could have helped Joe Flacco in the passing game and as a run blocker, fitting perfectly with the Ravens' system. Without Gronk, the Patriots dynasty continued for another near-decade.

Gronkowski was nearly drafted by the Ravens twice in 2010. He was the Ravens' top option at 25th overall after Dez Bryant was taken, but the Broncos traded up to take that pick and draft Tim Tebow instead. In the second round, the Ravens prepared to take Gronk again at 43rd overall, but the Patriots selected him at 42nd. Possibly the greatest tight end in NFL history, Gronk's dominance as a run blocker and receiving threat would have fit perfectly with the Ravens' offense and Joe Flacco's preference for targeting tight ends. His absence contributed to the Ravens' struggle to field quality receiving options following the 2012 Super Bowl.

Gronkowski was nearly drafted by the Ravens twice in 2010. First, the Ravens were prepared to select him at No. 25 overall after Dez Bryant was taken, but the Broncos traded up to take that pick and draft Tim Tebow instead. In the second round, the Ravens were again ready to draft Gronk at No. 43 overall, but the Patriots selected him at No. 42. Gronkowski went on to become possibly the greatest tight end in NFL history and a cornerstone of the Patriots' dynasty. The source speculates that Joe Flacco and the Ravens could have accomplished much more with such a dominant tight end—a favorite target position for Flacco—and that Gronk's run-blocking prowess would have fit perfectly with Baltimore's system. The Ravens' failure to land Gronk represents one of the most impactful near-misses in franchise history.
