Travis Hunter says he prioritizes winning over stats: “I don't like to go by stats because you never know what's going on… I'm definitely not a stat guy. Whatever helps the team in that moment, like the London game, was able to help the team in a big way.” (via Chasing No. 1)

Pure talent bet with elite ball skills and receiving ability—described as being in a very small class of wide receivers when it comes to hand ability and fun to watch in space. However, fantasy viability is limited by offensive role; in week six he ran 16.7% of routes, a season high but still not nearly enough to be considered fantasy viable. With Brian Thomas Jr.'s name on the trading block and Hunter proving he deserves more snaps on offense, there is potential for role expansion. In deeper leagues with bench spots to burn, rostering Hunter makes sense to see if offensive role increases materialize. Heading into bye week, so doesn't get a lot of waiver-wire love, but the situation hasn't changed.

Jacksonville's second-best wide receiver but too valuable on defense to play full-time at receiver. Would gain value if Brian Thomas Jr. is traded and could see increased snaps on the outside if Thomas is moved. Worth rostering as a potential upside play alongside Josh Cameron.

Hunter's Week 7 performance was exceptional: he recorded his first 1 TD/1 INT game in his 13th NFL game, joining only two other players since the 1970 merger to achieve this. He shadowed Nico Collins and fooled C.J. Stroud into throwing a redzone interception by purposefully stumbling in man coverage. On offense, Liam Coen unleashed him in the closest thing Jacksonville has seen to Cooper Kupp/Puka Nacua/Chris Godwin usage, with each of his 4 targets being big-boy designer looks—a notable step up from basic RPO packages used weeks prior. He feels like the only guy consistently making impact plays in big moments.

Wide receiver stash recommended if available on waiverwire; source suggests both Travis Hunter and Brian Thomas should be rostered similar to Seth McGawan shout, in instance of getting a Brian Thomas Jr. trait (breakout potential). However, if Brian Thomas Jr. gets traded, Travis Hunter would play more offensive snaps but remains at best third in the Jacksonville Jaguars' receiving pecking order, behind Jacobe Meyers and Parker Washington. In deeper formats, he qualifies as a bench stash with considerable upside if either Meyers or Washington gets injured, given his proven talent; however, he should not be expected to be startable soon. Source prefers Brian Thomas over Hunter.

Travis Hunter is a speculative dart tied to the deadline. He caught all four targets for 59 yards and a score on just nine offensive snaps back in Week 6, and if Brian Thomas Jr. is dealt, Hunter's route share grows in a top-ten offense. Jacksonville returns from its bye against Indianapolis. FAAB: 2-5%.

PositiveSleeperOct 27, 2026Yahoo Fantasy Football - Josh & Hayden

Travis Hunter is rostered in only 9% of Yahoo leagues with a highest offensive snap percentage of 13%; in deep leagues, Adonai Mitchell considers this snap usage enough to add him. Last year before his ACL tear, Hunter had a 14-target game and was transforming into the Jaguars' number-one pass-catching option, showing high upside potential if the team gets him involved. When on the field, there's approximately a 50% chance he's getting the football—elite target efficiency. A Travis Hunter 30% snap rate is very different than another team's 30% snap rate; on 30% snaps, Hunter could equal five or six awesome touches per week, or three to four in a conservative scenario. If Brian Thomas Jr. is traded, Hunter could reach 30% offensive snaps.

Speculative waiver wire add with high targets-per-route-run efficiency and multiple paths to role expansion. In week 6, Travis Hunter had minimal snaps but was targeted on almost all of them, posting four catches for 59 yards and a touchdown. The source identifies multiple scenarios supporting increased usage post-bye: (1) coaching staff recognizing his talent and finding ways to include him more offensively; (2) potential trade of Brian Thomas creating target share; (3) injury to Jacksonville wide receivers like Meyers or Parker Washington forcing increased usage. The source emphasizes that Hunter is available in most leagues and just came off a big game, with bye-weeks typically prompting coaching adjustments. Recommended at a low FAAB bid (around 2-2.5%), noting he's a smart play given Liam Cohen's coaching and Trevor Lawrence's strong play.

PositiveRoleOct 23, 2026Matt Harmon

Matt Harmon observed that in the Jacksonville game against the Texans, the Jaguars finally got Travis Hunter's offensive usage right for the first time in a while. Hunter played nine snaps on offense and ran seven routes, accumulating four targets and four catches. All routes were in-breaking routes—the main diet of Liam Coen's passing game and Hunter's specialty from his rookie profile—including a post from Z to slot, a quick slant from 13 personnel, backfield motion screens, and an angle route for a touchdown. This represented purposeful first-read integration rather than gadgety or gimmicky usage. Harmon emphasized Hunter's elite receiving upside independent of his two-way role constraints, stating that if Hunter focused exclusively on wide receiver, he could be one of the best receivers in the league given his talent level. On defense, Hunter's coverage against Nico Collins was really good overall; despite giving up a couple of plays to Collins (a 6'4", 215-pound receiver), Hunter's recovery speed and athleticism were exceptional, allowing him to get into position to make an interception on Stroud's one pick of the game after stumbling but recovering. Harmon believes Hunter will expand his offensive role and become a two-way player for Jacksonville, citing Hunter's post-game quote 'My time is coming' from the London game, his serious knee injury recovery and training camp ramp-up process, and the team's significant draft capital investment as evidence of a long-term plan to increase his offensive snaps. Hunter's emergence as a move-around player in the second half allows Jacksonville to disguise personnel—they can deploy Hunter without it being obvious they're throwing the football, creating offensive flexibility. Harmon argues it's time to see more Travis Hunter at wide receiver and believes pairing him with Parker Washington and Jakobi Meyers in receiving snaps would maximize the Jaguars' offense.

Even with a Brian Thomas Jr. trade, Hunter may not see a massive increase in offensive usage because Jacksonville has been effective with their current receiving corps (Parker Washington, Jacoby Myers, Josh Cameron). Hunter will continue as a dual-threat defensive/offensive player with situational usage, but falls last on the list for volume upside given the team's satisfaction with their current offensive approach.
