Aaron Jones

NegativeInjury4:00

Left his game with a knee injury and is day-to-day; Mark Sanchez expresses skepticism about the 'day-to-day' designation, noting Jones has been hobbling on one leg for the last few weeks and this is an aggravation of a pre-existing knee injury, questioning whether it's truly short-term.

Insight page
NegativeInjury9:00

Aaron Jones is dealing with a recurring injury issue that he keeps re-aggravating, creating ongoing fantasy concerns.

Insight page
NegativeInjury9:09

Aaron Jones continues to re-aggravate the same knee injury despite heavy touch volume; Mark Sanchez advocates sitting him down to preserve his availability for the second half of the season, noting the Packers have Jordan Mason back and should distribute carries to prevent further aggravation.

Insight page
NegativeInjury27:00

Aaron Jones sustained an injury and is being re-injured repeatedly with the same knee issue. Mark Sanchez criticizes the Vikings' offensive infrastructure being built around an aging running back who can barely survive games due to recurring knee injuries, questioning the play-calling decision to give him excessive touches.

Insight page

Amon-Ra St. Brown

PositiveProjection59:19

Mark Sanchez ranks Amon-Ra St. Brown ahead of Zay Flowers, citing his consistency: 100+ catches, 1000+ yards, and 10+ touchdowns for three straight years. Sanchez places St. Brown in the top-five to top-six receiver range alongside Flowers, giving the edge to St. Brown for his proven track record.

Insight page
PositiveProjection61:44

Mark Sanchez highlights Amonra St. Brown's consistency as a reason to rank him ahead of Zay Flowers in the five-to-six range of wide receiver rankings. Amonra just broke the record for most catches in the first six years of an NFL career for a wide receiver. His body of work shows clockwork production: approximately 100 catches, 1,300 yards, and double-digit touchdowns every single year. When healthy alongside Flowers, Amonra has been on a record-shattering pace that could slow down, suggesting elite production potential.

Insight page

Blake Corum

PositiveProjection55:20

Blake Corum is ranked as part of the consensus number-one backfield pairing with Kyron Johnson, with Sanchez noting Corum is a better running back than Kyle Monahan's counterpart on Chicago; the Rams' top-tier backfield is cemented as the #1 option.

Insight page

Bo Nix

PositiveRole10:09

Bo Nix struggles to complete passes and does not target Jalen Waddle effectively, limiting Waddle's fantasy value regardless of his health status; Mark Sanchez notes this compounds Waddle's injury concerns by reducing his offensive role.

Insight page
NegativeProjection65:03

Mark Sanchez expresses frustration with Bo Nix and the Broncos passing offense, calling it 'a pain to watch' and describing the offense as 'horrible' in pass production. However, he acknowledges 'we've seen good versions of Bo Nix before' and notes the question is whether Nix can show up as the offense works through growing pains with play-calling changes.

Insight page

Brock Bowers

PositiveRole48:29

Brock Bowers is identified as one of the few offensive weapons the Raiders have available, implying he remains a focal point of the offense despite the team's overall struggles with the run game and offensive line.

Insight page

Caleb Williams

NegativeProjection33:00

Debro compares J.J. McCarthy's early-season criticism to Caleb Williams' treatment, noting that Williams had a worse catchable throw rate than McCarthy but did not face the same level of scrutiny. Debro argues the inconsistency in how the two quarterbacks were evaluated highlights media bias against McCarthy.

Insight page

CeeDee Lamb

NegativeProjection60:00

Mark Sanchez identifies CeeDee Lamb as one of two receivers (alongside Drake London) he was uncertain about when ranking relative to Zay Flowers. Sanchez suggests Flowers is at worst the next name up after Lamb and London in terms of real-life NFL receiver performance.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

NegativeInjury4:00

Left his game but returned in the loss; mentioned primarily due to his status as a big name with a long injury history, warranting monitoring despite his return.

Insight page
NegativeInjury9:44

Christian McCaffrey's injury status warrants caution given his historical injury track record; the 49ers have a bye week coming, which provides a potential recovery window, but fantasy managers should remain vigilant about his availability.

Insight page

Devin Singletary

PositiveRole6:33

Singletary delivered the game-winning touchdown in overtime as the Giants upset the Texans as 10.5-point underdogs. He emerged as the primary back after both Saquon Barkley and Tyron Tracy suffered injuries in the same game, positioning him for increased role opportunity.

Insight page

Drake London

NegativeProjection60:00

Mark Sanchez identifies Drake London as one of two receivers (alongside CeeDee Lamb) he was uncertain about when ranking relative to Zay Flowers. Sanchez suggests Flowers is at worst the next name up after London and Lamb in terms of real-life NFL receiver performance.

Insight page

Fernando Mendoza

NegativeMatchup44:01

Mark Sanchez cautions against starting rookie QB Fernando Mendoza during the Raiders' brutal upcoming stretch (49ers, Seahawks, Broncos, Browns after the Jets), recommending either a Week 7 start against the Jets to get experience or waiting until after the bye to face the Chargers, Broncos, Titans, Cardinals, and Chiefs—a softer slate. Starting him now risks exposing a rookie to a defense-challenged team in pass-heavy game scripts.

Insight page

George Pickens

NegativeMatchup11:54

George Pickens is playing in Monday night football between the Cowboys and Eagles; Mark Sanchez's fantasy league has him rostered and starting him in a close matchup with two players remaining.

Insight page

Isaiah Likely

NegativeMatchup33:00

In J.J. McCarthy's game against the Saints, Isaiah Likely was involved in a play that Debro believes should have been a touchdown but was negated by a penalty. Debro notes this penalty cost McCarthy a potential win and argues that if McCarthy had led the Giants to victory in that game, it would have been a significant narrative win.

Insight page

J.J. McCarthy

NegativeProjection25:26

Mark Sanchez predicts a potential overcorrection in media perception of McCarthy if he continues to play well and leads the Giants to the playoffs; he draws a parallel to Daniel Jones's rise and fall, noting that while McCarthy is better than Jones, the narrative cycle of early crowning and redemption stories typically leads to massive swings in public opinion.

Insight page
PositiveProjection25:26

McCarthy played awesome in Week 7 and looks comfortable in the Giants offense with improved usage of his legs and RPOs; he's operating at a high level without the pressure of being the savior, allowing him to play loose and aggressive as he throws the ball downfield—his natural strength. Mark Sanchez notes McCarthy had a high hero throw rate last year with many big-time throws, though previously compounded by misses in Minnesota.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout32:00

J.J. McCarthy ranks first among 39 qualifying quarterbacks in yards per attempt, fifth in catchable target rate, seventh in CPOE, and first by a wide margin in hero throw rate at 14% (compared to Lamar Jackson, C.J. Stroud, and Jared Goff in the 5.8–6.3% range). Debro argues McCarthy was unfairly criticized early in the season and is now playing with confidence; his per-dropback numbers were never as bad as painted, and his film shows impressive layering and throw placement regardless of opponent quality. If he continues this level and leads the Giants to the playoffs, Debro projects he will be ranked in the 15–17 QB range in offseason rankings, though Mark Sanchez suggests low 20s is more realistic.

Insight page
PositiveProjection40:09

Mark Sanchez projects McCarthy as fringe top-20 quarterback; notes his young age (actual age, not just experience) as an asset compared to peers like Michael Penix and Tyler Shuck who are already 26-27 years old. McCarthy missed his entire rookie year to injury but has shown ability to play aggressive and throw downfield effectively, which aligned well with the Texans defense's vulnerability to explosive plays in Week 7.

Insight page
NegativeInjury41:00

Mark Sanchez flags injury durability as McCarthy's primary concern going forward; emphasizes that McCarthy has dealt with a ton of injuries historically and missed his entire rookie year. With the Giants using his legs more in the current offense, keeping him upright and protected is critical to his fantasy viability.

Insight page

Ja'Marr Chase

PositiveProjection59:19

Mark Sanchez ranks Jamar Chase among the clear top-tier receivers, placing him in the cemented top four alongside JSN, Malik Nabers, and Puka Nacua. Chase is unambiguously ahead of Zay Flowers in Sanchez's receiver hierarchy.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup63:36

Mark Sanchez uses Jamar Chase as a comparison point for Zay Flowers' dominance, noting that Chase's ability to score touchdowns against the Ravens defense without needing red zone usage is similar to how Flowers operates. Sanchez specifically references Flowers' breakaway touchdown against the Bengals as reminiscent of Chase's consistent ability to create explosive plays and score touchdowns against Baltimore's defense.

Insight page

Jaylen Waddle

NegativeInjury10:09

Jalen Waddle has persistent injury issues, spending excessive time in the medical tent; Mark Sanchez criticizes Sean Payton's play-calling, specifically an end-around play in the fourth quarter that resulted in Waddle's injury, though Payton later acknowledged the call was poor.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

PositiveValue56:33

Mark Sanchez self-corrects his earlier underrating of Warren, calling him 'the most underrated running back in the NFL' and moving him into his top three running backs for the season, acknowledging an overcorrection but cementing Warren's elite tier status.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

NegativeDepth Chart8:15

The Giants showed interest in Jeremiah Love during the offseason as part of their running back evaluation, indicating they were actively seeking to upgrade the position.

Insight page

Jonah Coleman

PositiveRole70:06

Mark Sanchez identifies Jonah Coleman as a potential breakout candidate for the Broncos run game, noting there are 'paths and ways where you can see this team potentially improving over the next couple of weeks' with Coleman getting more opportunities as Denver's offense develops.

Insight page

Jordan Mason

PositiveRole9:09

Jordan Mason looked good in his return to action; Mark Sanchez recommends feeding him more carries as an alternative to overloading Aaron Jones, though noting Kyle Murray's poor execution on dump-down passes affected Mason's opportunities.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

NegativeRole40:04

Mark Sanchez notes that McCarthy's big-time throws and high hero throw rate last year in Minnesota were compounded by big misses and Justin Jefferson pouting, suggesting Jefferson's attitude or engagement issues contributed to the offensive struggles.

Insight page
NegativeProjection60:00

Mark Sanchez argues Justin Jefferson is no longer in the rarefied air of top receivers, noting his fall-off began last year. While Sanchez initially considered Jefferson better than Zay Flowers due to consistency (100+ catches, 1000+ yards, 10+ TDs for three straight years), he ultimately places Flowers in the top-five to top-six range, suggesting Jefferson has declined from his elite tier.

Insight page

Kirk Cousins

NegativeProjection25:55

Cousins leads the NFL in passing touchdowns with 16 through Week 7, but Mark Sanchez argues the Raiders' four-game losing streak is not attributable to Cousins' play; rather, the defense has failed to compete against stronger opponents, allowing an average of 35.8 points and 416.5 yards per game since Week 4.

Insight page
NegativeRole25:55

Mark Sanchez expects Kirk Cousins to remain the Raiders' starting quarterback despite poor offensive line performance and defensive struggles. Kubiak's film review will focus on fixing the run game and defense rather than benching Cousins. The Raiders may only consider a change if they lose multiple additional games and the season deteriorates significantly.

Insight page

Kyler Murray

NegativeProjection23:00

Kyler Murray's EPA per drop back is career low; he posted season-low completion rate over expectation of minus 12.2% against the Colts defense, with career-high time to throw of 2.91 seconds. Mark Sanchez notes the Vikings offense is sixth-worst in yards per play, eighth-lowest in points per drive, fourth-lowest in EPA per play, and fourth-lowest in passing success rate, characterizing it as a dumpster fire with Murray as the core problem.

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

NegativeInjury4:24

Did not play in Week 7 but is likely to return in Week 8 against the Bills; however, Mark Sanchez expresses significant skepticism about his health status. Jackson publicly stated he is not 100% and cannot play the way he wants to play, yet the Ravens expect him to be fully healthy by next week. Sanchez notes that when Lamar is not fully healthy, he is not a great version of himself, and questions whether he will truly be 100% or if he'll be limited like last year, which would impact his fantasy value in the Ravens-Bills matchup.

Insight page
NegativeInjury5:55

High ankle sprain status uncertain; Mark Sanchez notes it's speculation whether Jackson was close to playing this week or held out due to incomplete recovery. High ankle sprains typically last several weeks. When Jackson returns, early performance will clarify whether he's limited like last year or back to full form.

Insight page

Malik Nabers

PositiveProjection59:19

Mark Sanchez ranks Malik Nabers in the cemented top-four receiver tier alongside JSN, Jamar Chase, and Puka Nacua. Sanchez notes Nabers is above Zay Flowers and performs at an elite level when on the field, though availability has been inconsistent.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

NegativeRole11:54

Puka Nakua was drafted by Mark Sanchez's fantasy league; the league started off rocky due to injuries, and Nakua is mentioned as part of their roster construction.

Insight page
NegativeProjection59:19

Mark Sanchez places Puka Nacua in the cemented top-four receiver tier alongside JSN, Jamar Chase, and Malik Nabers. Sanchez notes that when Nacua is on the field, he performs at an elite level comparable to Nabers, though availability has been a concern.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeInjury6:30

Barkley suffered a hamstring injury in Week 7 against Houston. He reported feeling his hamstring before medical evaluation, which Mark Sanchez characterizes as worst-case scenario for a running back. The Giants enter their bye week, but Sanchez expresses concern the injury may linger beyond the bye, citing precedent with Rashi Rice's hamstring injury that persisted for weeks after returning.

Insight page

Tyrone Tracy

NegativeInjury6:30

Tracy suffered an injury in the same game as Saquon Barkley against Houston, contributing to the Giants backfield uncertainty heading into their bye week. The dual injuries open the door for potential trade deadline acquisitions.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

PositiveProjection58:41

Zay Flowers is ranked as wide receiver six on the season despite missing time, with 40 catches for 608 yards and three touchdowns; he has posted three separate halves with 119+ yards and a touchdown (weeks 1, 4, 7), ranking second in yards per route run behind only JSN; however, he has played only four halves this season with Lamar Jackson, suggesting significant upside as their connection develops.

Insight page
PositiveProjection58:53

Mark Sanchez highlights Zay Flowers' elite efficiency in limited sample with Lamar Jackson: only four halves played together this season, with just two healthy halves, yet Flowers ranks behind only JSN in yards per route run. Sanchez projects Flowers as a top-six NFL receiver if Lamar stays healthy, comparing the trajectory to JSN's breakout last year; at worst, Sanchez argues Flowers is the eighth-best receiver in the NFL despite offseason contract criticism.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout61:44

Mark Sanchez argues Zay Flowers is a surging player entering year four with the best year of his career so far. If placed in the same pass-heavy offensive circumstances as Amonra over recent years, Flowers would put up similar stats; his elite after-the-catch ability (most yards after catch among qualifying receivers) is driving his production. Since 2025, among 72 qualifying wide receivers versus man coverage, Flowers is tied with JSN in separation score and third in route win rate behind only JSN and Devontae Adams. Sanchez dismisses criticism about Flowers' size and man coverage performance as baseless, noting his breakaway touchdown ability against the Bengals resembles Jamar Chase's dominance over the Ravens.

Insight page
PositiveUsage64:35

Among 72 qualifying wide receivers versus man coverage, Zay Flowers is tied with JSN in separation score (third overall) and third in route win rate behind only JSN and Devontae Adams. Mark Sanchez emphasizes: 'He's really freaking good.'

0:03Unleash your dog. 18 plus terms apply. Top grails are extremely rare.
0:06Hello everybody, welcome into the tailgate. I'm Ryan Warmly, joined by Derek Brown and by Andrew Erickson.
0:11Reacting to all things Week 7 of this NFL season continues to fly by.
0:15D-Rope, you have a topic we're very excited to talk about.
0:18Besides that, how are you feeling here after Week 7?
0:21It was good guys. Up and down betting week, which has just been the norm unfortunately for this season because the NFL
0:27has been so freaking up and down and wacky.
0:30I feel like, guys, do you remember a time whenever we're walking into almost close to the halfway point of the season
0:36where it still feels like, okay, I know this and this and this about certain teams but there's so much that I
0:42don't know about any of these teams? It just feels like we have had such a topsy-turvy NFL season and when I
0:48feel like we've gotten to the way point, like the halfway point of an NFL season in most years, it's kind of
0:54like, oh, I've got a decent feel about lay of the landscape, player usage, how the teams are running and things like that.
1:012026 said, uh, no, no thank you. It feels very, very up in the air and every NFL season, it does feel weird in its own unique way.
1:08But this one does feel it's not even that it's weirder than other seasons.
1:12It's just that I feel like we know less than other seasons.
1:16I'm constantly surprised every week and don't feel like I have the best sense of what's to come in the second half
1:22of the season, which makes it quite exciting. Honestly, Erickson, how you feeling?
1:25I wish we saw more points in the lines of Packers game.
1:29I wish that Jameer Gibbs scored a touchdown and didn't let himself go down at the three-guard line.
1:34Luckily, he avoided any type of injury because this always happens to the players because they're not used to sliding and then
1:40they end up hurting themselves, which is always like a really big concern because nobody teaches these guys.
1:45They don't have the baseball coaches coming in like so long ago when they did with Mark Sanchez when they were trying
1:51to teach him to slide back in the day.
1:54They brought in players from the Yankees to help Mark Sanchez learn how to slide and he never really learned how to
2:00slide only knew how to do the classic butt fumble.
2:02But besides that, I mean, we saw a kicker miss a 26 yard field goal and then the corresponding move.
2:08The head coach of the other team went for it on his own 24 yard line.
2:13It was like Bill Belichick. Hold my beer. I'm Dan Campbell.
2:16I'm going to go for my own 24 yard line.
2:18They don't get it and they don't give up any points anyway.
2:22It's just crazy. But I mean, that's why we love it.
2:25Right again. The unpredictability of the NFL is why it's a must watch.
2:28Every Thursday, Sunday, Monday, and then as upcoming in the months of November, we're going to have football on Thursdays and Wednesdays
2:35and Fridays and every day of the week because it's going to be on all the time, especially during the holidays.
2:40So looking forward to that. Roger Goodell says we're going to a seven day a week schedule.
2:45We're going to play in every single country. I mean, we're going to Tokyo next year, boys.
2:50We're going to have games in every single country.
2:52Soccer stadiums, rugby stadiums. We're actually going to play.
2:55We're possibly going to have like in a dirt stadium.
2:58I mean, there is no limit to the NFL, baby.
3:01All the time. Every day. 24-7. It's going to be like tennis.
3:04You have different champions on different surfaces, like the grass champion, the clay champion.
3:08There's a clay core? There's a clay core team?
3:10Nobody wants to be the turf field champion. Nobody wants to play in the clay core.
3:15No. All right. Well, speaking of turf fields, let's get into the injury roundup here.
3:19We usually start the newsy notes with that. Not as robust an injury roundup.
3:23Actually, for the second straight week, there was a lot of them this week, but a lot of those players returned to their game.
3:30So it looks a little bit better than it could have if those guys didn't come back.
3:34Jalen Waddell left late in his game with, there was like a chest slash shoulder.
3:38I'm not sure exactly what it was. Cam Scadaboo went down on that long run in overtime with a hamstring.
3:44They said he should be okay. They have the bye.
3:47So that's good timing for them. But he did go down right before they won that game in overtime.
3:52Jalen Knoll, turf toe. That's no fun. We love Jalen Knoll on the show.
3:56Aaron Jones. They said he should be okay. He's day to day, but he did leave his game with a knee injury.
4:02Christian McCaffrey. He did come back in his game, but just because he's such a big name and has such a long
4:08injury history, I wanted to at least mention him.
4:11He left his game, did come back in that loss.
4:14And then the only other kind of report I had here injury related was that Lamar Jackson is likely to return in week eight against the Bills.
4:21He didn't play this week, but there was reporting during the game that the Ravens were surprised he wasn't playing and that
4:27the very, very strong expectation is that he will be the starter against the Bills in that one.
4:32So obviously that's a pretty seismic return for any NFL team, but particularly in a fun matchup with the Ravens and Bills.
4:38So that was the injury roundup I had. Debro, let me know if I missed anybody or where you want to start from those names.
4:45No, I mean, I think he hit everybody, but I will say there's a lot of like painted optimism with a lot of those injuries.
4:52Like Cam Scadaboo, we don't know if his hamstring is going to be better after a freaking week.
4:57Aaron Jones has an aggravation of a knee injury that he's been playing on one leg for the last few weeks.
5:03I don't know if this is truly day to day when the guy's been hobbling through all of it.
5:09So I will say there's a lot of media, not for you, Worm, but like, I think like how these are getting
5:15framed a lot of optimism and also do the Lamar Jackson stuff.
5:18He legit came out in the media and said, I am not a hundred percent.
5:22I cannot play the way that I want to play.
5:25That's why I'm not playing. And the team is like, sure.
5:28He'll be a hundred percent next week. No problem.
5:31And we'll get the fully healthy version of Lamar Jackson because Worm, you and I thought about this all, like during the off season.
5:37It's like when he's not fully healthy, that's not a great version of Lamar Jackson.
5:42Is that going to really be a good game versus the Ravens and Bills?
5:45I don't know. If he's healthy, it will be.
5:48But yeah, he needs to be healthy. But you can agree with me.
5:52He's not really truly fully healthy, correct? I would guess that's the case.
5:55I think it's possible that he was close this week.
5:58And the only reason he didn't play was because he does think trying to play through it, but not a hundred percent.
6:04It's speculation. We won't know until we see. We'll know very quickly when he's back on the field.
6:09If this is like last year where he's limited or if he's back to Lamar, that will be very obvious early, I think.
6:16But yeah, I mean, we, there's, we, you can't possibly know for sure right now.
6:20High ankle sprains last several weeks. They always do.
6:22Um, Erickson, what do you, what do you take away from this injury roundup this week?
6:27The one that I'm kind of intrigued the most by is probably the Giants back because Tyron Tracy also got hurt in
6:33that game, which is why Devin Singletary was the one that had the final dagger in his under the radar revenge game.
6:39Oh, that's a good call out. Game winning touchdown in overtime for the 10 and a half point underdog Giants to beat
6:45the Houston Texans who fall to now two and five, which is crazy to think about because I think that if we
6:51all agreed, like who, who would be favored in a game between the Texans and the Vikings right now, neutral field, the
6:57undefeated six and all Vikings against the Texans. I'm pretty sure we're all taking Houston.
7:02Yeah, no, you're not wrong because I believe in teams that could put up more than 20 points.
7:07I believe in teams that actually have a competent passing game.
7:10Just an interesting quirk, but the Giants backfield, because I agree with Debro where Scadaboo talking about and telling reporters after the
7:16game that this is before any type of imaging or he's seen medical people, which is like, oh yeah, I felt some
7:22of my hamstring that is never, you never want to feel your hamstring, right?
7:26Like the best thing scenario is like, oh, I don't even know if I have my hamstrings exist.
7:31No, they're good. But if you feel them as you get older again, it's just worst case scenario for a running back like Scadaboo.
7:38So I know that they're going on the bye week and it's going to be, oh, he's going to be fine.
7:43Wasn't this the same thing that the news outlets sold us about Rashi Rice?
7:47Oh yeah. Like his hamstring, he's fine. He's going to be great.
7:51Comes back after the bye week, DMP. Two weeks later, still.
7:54Like still not back. So I would not be holding my breath, hoping that Scadaboo is going to be back and healthy and ready to go.
8:01And we know hamstring injuries last. So that's something that I'd be concerned about this Giants backfield as a whole, as we
8:07get into some of these trade discussions of some of these veteran running backs.
8:11Dude, I think that the Giants, I know Debro kind of teased it when we first started recording, but I think that
8:17they are so alive to add a running back before the trade deadline.
8:21So they were talking about that during the off season.
8:24That was, that was one of the things with Jeremiah Love and their interest with him.
8:28They, they were one of the teams that was in on Ken Walker.
8:32Yep. The New York Giants, despite the fact that I had Scadaboo and Tracy and Najee and all these dudes.
8:37So I think that's a backfield that even over the bye week is going to be one that we're going to monitor very, very closely.
8:44And it's going to be a lot in the up in the air because you don't get injury reports during the bye week.
8:51Unless the players like talk on a podcast or something like Scadaboo was like, yeah, dude, my hamstring is like, he's going
8:57to be on a Twitch stream like playing Fortnite.
8:59Like, yeah, guys, I got a nice back on the old hammy right now.
9:03Woo! As he cuts a backflip again. Yeah. So, so that's something to pay attention to.
9:08The Aaron Jones, dude, sit this guy down. He keeps re-aggravating the same exact knee injury.
9:12And they're like, we got to keep loading him up with touches, even though they got Jordan Mason back and thought Mason
9:18looked fine, except for when Kyle Murray was like throwing it 10 feet over his head on all of the dump down passes.
9:25I thought that Jordan Mason looked good. Just feed him, right?
9:28Give Aaron Jones a break so you can at least have him available to you in the second half of the season.
9:34Because right now he's just going to keep re-aggravating this knee injury.
9:37So those things I looked at, obviously anytime McCaffrey misses time, everybody's holding their breath because we know of his injury track record.
9:44They have a bye week. So again, fingers crossed, but still drop Caleb Black and any of your fantasy leagues.
9:49Don't do it. Like, it's not worth the risk, no matter how glowing they are about, oh, McCaffrey, he's great.
9:55He's fine. Like, there's nothing wrong. No, you lock and key hold on to Caleb Black forever.
10:00You don't let anybody pry him away from your fantasy team.
10:03So those are some of my thoughts. And then Jalen Waddle, the dude just has real estate in the blue medical tent.
10:09And I hate it so much, but it's constantly ganged up.
10:12Can we also talk about the fact that it didn't matter whether he's out there or not.
10:17Bo Nix can't complete passes and Bo Nix doesn't target him.
10:20That's also true. So it's like, Jalen Waddle's like, bro, you're not featuring me in this offense anyway.
10:25What's the point? Also, the fact that he gets hurt on like an end around play when they're trying to like run
10:31out the clock in the fourth quarter. And they're like, let's do an end around to Jalen Waddle.
10:36Like, this is a great idea. Did you see the Sean Payton presser too?
10:40When nobody in the media, I don't, did you guys see, even see this clip?
10:44I don't think so. Sean Payton was talking to the media after the game and nobody asked him about the Jalen Waddle play.
10:50And Sean Payton's like, uh, so is anybody going to ask me about the dumb play that I called on the end around to Jalen Waddle?
10:58No. Okay. Well, I'm just going to answer the Jalen Waddle question that I know should exist here.
11:03And Sean Payton went on a rant about how stupid it was and blah, blah, blah.
11:07And yeah, yeah. Sean Payton like owned an L, which I was like, oh good.
11:11Accountability. Loving it, baby. Are we sure this was not the AI?
11:15I don't know. We got the AI version of Worm.
11:17We actually got got by AI and didn't realize it.
11:20We got, we got the vampire AI version of Worm before starting this show.
11:24I mean, it's running rampant, baby. Golly. Yeah. Erickson, I'm going to start referring to the hamstring as the offensive line of the body.
11:31Like you only hear about it when it's not a good thing.
11:34I think is a good way to put it.
11:37Cause yeah, you don't, you don't want to ever feel it.
11:40And that's, that's tough for, for Scadaboo and everything else you ran down.
11:43Before we get out of the news and notes, Erickson, give us a quick update on our tailgate fantasy league.
11:49Got another dub this week. We're actually protecting a small lead with two guys left to play tonight in the Monday night
11:55football game between the Cowboys and Eagles. We have Dallas Goddard going.
11:59We have George Pickens going. So we started off pretty rocky cause we had a lot of injuries.
12:04We also drafted Puka Nakua. So as you can imagine, a lot of teams that drafted Puka Nakua to start the year
12:10did not start with very glowing records, but team is starting to come into form and we finally got the benefits or
12:16we reap the benefits of drafting Kenneth Gainwell finally for the first time.
12:19So yeah, that was good. Good to hear that.
12:22We're kind of on the ups and where, where are we in the standings?
12:26We're in the bottom. That's okay. Unfortunately, bottom core tile, but like the Bengals still in range of owing our listeners something

14:17All right, guys. Let's get to our week seven reactions.
14:20We've got three apiece. Ours are all actually somewhat related to each other.
14:23Our first ones, at least. So we'll be kind of a larger conversation here about this particular game and organization.
14:29But Erickson, you are asking about the Colts selling after another loss.
14:32Yeah, I think that's the question that we're all kind of wondering.
14:36Is this the beginning of the market sale? The yard sale for all these Colts players that are either on expired contracts.
14:42They're veteran players because the Colts are going in the wrong direction.
14:45Falling to 2-5 after they lost against the Minnesota Vikings.
14:48They had a chance to win that game too, right?
14:51But they missed a field goal. Daniel Jones just constantly under pressure.
14:54It was actually insane how much Brian Flores just did not.
14:57He puts Daniel Jones on like over 80% of Daniel Jones' drawbacks, which is like the most by a team in the last 10 years.
15:04Flores just like was no fear. And yet it's somehow less than I thought he was going to do against Jones.
15:10I mean, he's been doing it every single week.
15:12Every week. He just doesn't care. And it's just, it's absolute insanity.
15:16But another loss for the Colts. 2-5 now. And we got a report before Sunday's game from ESPN.
15:21Dan Graziano, I believe, that four of the main Colts players that were going to be on the trade block that they
15:27were going to be looking to potentially move. DeForest Buckner and Grover Stewart.
15:31I think those are the two names that make the most sense.
15:34Veteran defensive tackles where playoff teams are looking to bolster their defensive lines, whether it's because of pass rush, whether it's because of helping stop the run.
15:41I think Buckner and Grover Stewart make so much sense to be offloaded by the Colts as older players that can contribute
15:48to a playoff team, especially as part of a defensive rotation.
15:51So I think those guys are going to be the first to go.
15:54It would not surprise me at all if those guys are gone before the Colts play again.
15:59Like, they're playing the Jacksonville Jaguars this week. That's on the road.
16:02They are touchdown underdogs. And they're facing the Dallas Cowboys.
16:05So I think it's very realistic that the Colts are going to be 2-7 by the time the trade deadline comes.
16:11And, I mean, JT and Quentin Nelson are the guys that are tougher to move, in my opinion.
16:16But they were also players that were featured in that article just because these guys are like faces of the franchise type of players.
16:23So if you're moving away from Jonathan Taylor, you're moving away from Quentin Nelson.
16:27Again, JT just signed a new contract with the Colts this offseason or contract extension.
16:31So I think those are massive moves. I think it would take a lot to get Jonathan Taylor.
16:36But I think the Colts, what they showed us by giving Seth McGowan basically season highs across the board, I don't think
16:42that's a coincidence that you saw him get a highest opportunity share of the season, highest snap share of the season at the expense of Jonathan Taylor.
16:50In a game that you're trying to still win.
16:52I mean, Seth McGowan's out there on the first drive.
16:55It wasn't like, oh, we're going to get McGowan mixed in in garbage time or whatever.
16:59Now, he was playing legitimate snaps in a game that they were trying to win.
17:03So is it soft tanking, whatever you want to call it?
17:07Look, I think the Colts are definitely open to trade Jonathan Taylor.
17:10It just depends on what the price would be.
17:12So it's just a matter of who is willing to pay what for Jonathan Taylor, knowing that he's a little bit of
17:19an older running back with a contract that you have to pick up.
17:22So what do you guys think about the Colts?
17:25Like, are they already looking ahead to 2027? Are they going to draft a quarterback?
17:29They sure should be. Can they draft a quarterback?
17:31Chris Ballard, such an idiot. The other player that I think can get moved that you didn't mention, Erickson, is Josh Downs.
17:38Tons of teams with receiver needs. Now, Graziano, did he mention him in the article or not?
17:42He actually mentioned Keenan Allen. Okay, well, I mean, both of them make sense, though.
17:46Because Keenan Allen is a veteran. Keenan Allen makes sense.
17:49Josh Downs makes sense. I'll also throw another name.
17:52Charverius Ward, an aging cornerback, makes sense. Like, lots of really good spots where he could land and stuff.
17:57Like, yes, I think if you're the Colts, you're not reading the room.
18:01You're not looking at everything, all the parts and pieces, if you're not putting the for sale sign up on everything inside of the house.
18:08Because, again, I'll harken back to it, guys. What was it, three or four weeks ago when the Colts were 2-2?
18:14And I said, okay, yeah, burn it all down.
18:16Burn it to the foundation. Burn it to the ground.
18:19This is a broken franchise. It's being run into the ground, not because of the owner, because of the head coach, because
18:25of the GM, because of everything in between. Tear it all down.
18:28Tear it all down. I was just going to say, Miami did it right.
18:32Yeah. Commit to the bit. Lead and steer into that skid.
18:35Like, if you're going to do it, do it.
18:38Don't say, oh, Quentin Nelson has been such a great player for so long.
18:42Go get something for him. You can get probably a pretty decent pick for a guy like Quentin Nelson, even at his age.
18:48Fully commit. Because he's been so good for so long.
18:51Commit to the bit. Do it, Colts. Don't worry about the face of the franchise.
18:55Don't worry about that stuff. Just be like, hey, the smartest thing we can possibly do is get back the most value we can for these players.
19:03Just unequivocally. Nothing else really matters for the rest of the season for this franchise if that's the direction they're going.
19:08And I think they should. You don't worry about the face of the franchise for 2026.
19:13You worry about bringing in the face of the franchise this offseason.
19:16That could be the face of the franchise for 2028, 2029.
19:19Yes. 100%. Yeah. The emotional attachment to these players.
19:22I get it. Like, at the end of the day, these owners are like, we do want to still sell some jerseys.
19:28But, like, the smartest thing long term by far is to not care about that stuff.
19:32Well, because eventually all these, like, glittering pieces just become a chandelier in an outhouse.
19:37That's all it is. Yeah. I'm going to go before D-Row on this one because I want to talk about the other
19:43side of this game and talk about the Vikings.
19:45But they are undefeated, the last undefeated team in the NFL.
19:48And I'm still not sure that they're a playoff lock, guys.
19:51I just don't believe them. I know at a certain point it becomes a math, you know, not problem, but solution for
19:58them where, like, you win so many games and it will be very hard to miss the playoffs.
20:03Having said that, this offense is not working. I cannot believe how unsuccessful they were against the Colts.
20:08They win this game, of course, 16-10. Yet another week where the offense is not good, but the defense is so excellent.
20:14And they're facing a really bad team that we're talking about.
20:17Like, they need to go full Miami Dolphins here, their opponent.
20:20And they win by just six. Again, I thought they were going to win by two touchdowns because I thought the offense would do something against this defense.
20:28And, again, I knew the Minnesota defense would be good.
20:31But, man, like, it is just not working right now with Kyler Murray.
20:34It's not working really with anybody in this offense.
20:37They obviously take the Aaron Jones injury as we discussed today.
20:40They're 6-0. Again, the last undefeated team. But, man, I was looking through the schedule last night.
20:44I'm going to pull it back up now. And it's not like it's a murderer's row or anything like that.
20:50Like, it is manageable. But there are tough games.
20:53And if the offense really doesn't get going, like, it gets harder than it has been.
20:57Like, to date, they have beaten the Rebae Packers, the Bears.
21:00But in that monsoon game, Caleb gets hurt. The Bucs when they were absolutely terrible.
21:04The Dolphins, who they barely beat. The Saints, who have been, you know, slumping hard.
21:08And the Colts. Like, they have not beaten a lot of good teams.
21:12Coming up, they have at Detroit versus Buffalo. At Green Bay, who looks better than they did in Week 1, even though they saw a loss yesterday.
21:20San Francisco, who only has one loss. Atlanta, who's the only team to give San Francisco a loss.
21:25Carolina, who's been up and down, but their ups have been really high.
21:28At New England, who's playing better again. Detroit again.
21:31I mean, like, it gets a lot harder here for this next stretch.
21:34It wouldn't surprise me if this team ends up, like, 9-8 or something.
21:38And the NFC, I know it's not that strong.
21:41But there are at least seven pretty good teams in there to make the playoffs.
21:45So, I think it's just the bottom that's pretty weak.
21:48And I could see the Vikings have been the outside looking in.
21:51So, that's a bit of a bold prediction to say, like, that definitely will happen.
21:55So, I'm kind of couching it a bit by just saying they're not quite a lock rather than going full bold prediction here.
22:01But, man, this offense is just non-functional. And it's really hard for me to believe that the defense is going to be
22:08so good the entire season that it won't matter.
22:10And that they will really be contenders at the end of the day.
22:14I think one of Detroit or Green Bay, probably Detroit's going to win, going to win that division.
22:19But they're all decent teams, right? We still think there's maybe three playoff teams out of the NFC West.
22:24You do run out of space as quickly when you have some of those divisions like that.
22:29And I don't think – I think Minnesota might not get in, Debro.
22:32The Vikings are a fraud, have been a fraud, and will continue to be a fraud.
22:37Just to put numbers behind everything that you just mentioned.
22:40So, first of all, the war of attrition with injuries, Erickson talks about this constantly, and he's always right about it.
22:46The Vikings sustain any kind of injuries to their defense if their defense takes a step back from being historic top five, top three defense.
22:53If they become a middle of the pack or a top 12 defense.
22:56If there's any cracks in the pavement for that defense.
22:59This offense is god-awful. Kyler Murray is a terrible freaking quarterback.
23:02The Vikings are idiots for investing in Kyler Murray this season.
23:05Just some numbers to back all this up, guys.
23:08Anything you want to pull up, this offense is wretched.
23:10It is a dumpster fire. The Vikings, sixth worst in yards per play.
23:14Eighth lowest in points per drive. Fourth lowest in EPA per play.
23:17Fourth lowest in passing success rate. I could keep going and going and going for another ten different stats right now, but there's no point.
23:24Because you get what I'm putting out there. The Vikings are a terrible offense.
23:28And I don't see that changing when the quarterback is the problem for the entire offense and your head coach has quietly always been a fraud.
23:36I just want to say quickly, I don't think they were an idiot for investing in Kyler because it was so cheap.
23:42Yes, they were. They didn't invest anything in him.
23:44They got him for the minimum contract. They invested in a toddler playing quarterback at the NFL level who has never been a serious quarterback.
23:51You're wrong about this. It's a smart process. He has not been a serious quarterback in the NFL over the last five seasons.
23:58He hasn't. He has not. It's not idiotic. It is a smart process to say even a guy who has struggled recently
24:04and coming off of an injury to say you can get a guy who has been a successful NFL quarterback at some
24:10points in his career and who isn't that old.
24:12But he's not one now. For the literal veteran minimum, that's not a bad investment.
24:17Cool. Every NFL team would and should do that.
24:19Cool. You signed a bad quarterback off the trash heap for nothing.
24:22Do we want kudos for signing a bad quarterback for nothing?
24:25No. He's still a bad quarterback. They're not idiots for taking that swing.
24:29That's a high upside and the floor sitting. But is there upside?
24:32It cost them nothing. But is there upside? It cost them absolutely nothing.
24:36Is their offense good? It doesn't matter. It's not a bad investment to say let's take a swing.
24:41It just hasn't worked out and that's fine. It's a bad investment when the quarterback was bad to begin with.
24:47That is what makes it dumb. They knew there was a chance it wouldn't work out and it hasn't.
24:52That was always a risk. But it was, again, you spend literally nothing on a guy.
24:56That's not idiotic. That's like saying the gas station sushi if somebody gives it to you for free is still a good investment for dinner.
25:03No, it's not. It's still bad and it's still going to make you sick.
25:07Well, I mean, it depends on what the alternative is going to be because I know you wanted them to bring in Willis.
25:14Yeah. Right? I mean, they could have signed Malik Willis.
25:17But again, you want the alternative. Like, would they be 6-0 with Malik Willis as their quarterback versus Kyler Murray slash Carson
25:23Wentz slash whoever has started because Kyler Murray's obviously missed games.
25:26Obviously, the McCarthy thing was not going to last.
25:28No, that was never going to last. No matter what.
25:31But like, so you had to get an alternative.
25:34I mean, would you want them to bring in Tua?
25:36Like, I don't know. Like, so like, again, I think I agree a little bit more with Worm here where you're not paying him literally any money.
25:44It's not like Kyler Murray's working his way into an extension.
25:47Right? I can't imagine that Vikings media is like, oh yeah, we got to sign this guy long term.
25:52I think it's like, okay, like. Here's the counterpoint to that.
25:55We got to move on. Signing Kyler Murray for nothing versus what if they just reunited with Kirk Cousins?
26:01What would this team look like at this point right now?
26:04I mean, they still might. And they should. You never know.
26:07If they want to actually try to salvage their season, and I know this sounds crazy in the year 2026, they should
26:13trade for Kirk Cousins is what they should do.
26:15That's honestly, I mean like. It's always hard to play that game from free agency signings though, because like the players got to want to sign there too.
26:23Like, Malik Willis might not have wanted to go play in Minnesota.
26:27No, that's fine. If I was a quarterback, I wouldn't want to sign with KOC either.
26:31Yeah. But just some of my final thoughts just on the Vikings.
26:34So Kyler Murray. So again, not playing well. He's actually playing in terms of his EPA per drop back.
26:40It's actually career low. He's been terrible. He's been horrible.
26:42And even though it seemed like at least the last couple games, it looked like he was progressing.
26:47This particular spot was really, really bad. Given the fact that it was a really bad Colts defense.
26:53He posted season low and completion rate over expectation minus 12.2%.
26:56It's like really, really bad. And there were no excuses, right?
26:59With Kyler where I was at least holding the light on for, okay, he's going to have the first game with all the weapons.
27:05Like he's going to have Addison and Jefferson and Hawkinson and Derrissau and the running backs.
27:10And it didn't mean anything. It was just more of the same thing.
27:13Running around, holding the ball on for too long.
27:16Career high time to throw this year for Kyler Murray is 2.91 seconds.
27:20They've also been really inefficient on first. I will say from the Vikings overall, I think that building the ship and entire
27:26offensive infrastructure like out of Aaron Jones is also not the smartest thing in the world.
27:30Like why? Like why is this? Because they don't have anything else to do.
27:34Let's give our aging running back a billion touches and he can barely survive any game because he gets re-injuring the same knee.
27:41So that kind of blows my mind from just like a play calling standpoint of why they're doing it.
27:46I get that they can be more conservative because the fact that their defense has been so good.
27:51But about the schedule, like that's not going to happen anymore.
27:54Like you're going to have to score points when you face the Lions, when you face the Bills, when you face the Packers, when you face the 49ers.
28:02So as good as Brian Flores' defense has been, dude, like it's not going to be as easy over the next month.
28:08So I agree with you guys. And I'm curious before we get out the Vikings, what do you think the odds are
28:14for the Vikings to miss the playoffs? Oh, I'm sure it's like probably – It's actually like kind of insane.
28:20Like I was really surprised. To miss the playoffs?
28:22I'm sure it's like plus 310. Is that okay?
28:25What's your guess, Warren? Boy, I don't know. I mean because you're asking the question, that's making me like – You've got to bake in the narrative.
28:32It's going to be aggressive because it's 6-0. Like a 6-0 team in a vacuum, again, the last undefeated team in the
28:38NFL, I would think to miss would be like pretty unfavorable odds there.
28:42But the way you're saying it, is it actually closer than you would think?
28:46I was – I mean it's minus 400 for them to make the playoffs.
28:50So – Yes. So it's plus 420 – 475.
28:52So almost 5-1 for them to miss the playoffs.
28:55And I'm kind of like – to your point, Warren, there is a point where the math just kind of takes in
29:01place here where they could drop – I mean they could finish what?
29:049 and 8. Or excuse me. Yeah, 9 and 8.
29:07I miss it. Yeah, they could finish 9 and 8 and still make the playoffs.
29:11They could finish 8 and 9 and still make the playoffs.
29:15Like they could drop a ton of games in the second half.
29:18I don't think an NFC team is making the playoffs as a wild card in the below 500 or even at 9 and 8.
29:25I think it will take 10 wins to make the playoffs.
29:28Oh, maybe. Maybe I'm wrong. I mean maybe. Maybe the – Look, again, obviously like the books have done their math in
29:34some capacity to have it this heavy in terms of just making the playoffs.
29:38I mean I'm looking at a lot of other teams.
29:40It's basically where do they finish their division because if you think that the NFC West is going to have two wild
29:47cards, there's only one wild card to go. We don't think it's going to come from the south or the east.
29:52So it's can they finish first or second in the NFC North because if they're third and those two NFC West teams get wild cards, then they're out.
30:00So do you think the Packers and Lions and Bears, two of those teams, will finish ahead of them because if so,
30:06then I actually think that's a pretty reasonable path, a case for that happening.
30:10When you're looking at these other teams, they have some of the – in terms of best odds or like implied probability to make the playoffs.
30:18Like the only ones that are longer or excuse me, shorter odds are the Chiefs minus 900 to make the playoffs.
30:23Like, okay, yeah, we all kind of know they're going to make the playoffs.
30:27And I'm just looking and scrolling like Broncos are minus 335, Jags are minus 600, and the Vikings, yeah.
30:33Like, I mean, even like the Rams are minus 110 to make the playoffs because they've lost so many games to start
30:39the – and then the Bills, right? It's the 6-0 start.
30:42That's what's – that's all of it. So that's what's driving – and then the 49ers as well have really obviously favorite losses in playoffs.
30:49I'm going to change mine from I don't think they're a playoff lock to you.
30:53I'm going to make this a bold prediction and say they missed the playoffs.
30:57I fully agree with that. But I co-sign that.
30:59Fully co-sign that. I think that this is a good kind of an interesting bet to make especially because if you look
31:06for the next couple games, they're probably going to drop a couple games.
31:09You're going to see these odds obviously dramatically shift away from the Vikings.
31:13This is a big game this week for these odds.
31:16If they beat the Lions this week in Detroit, then – Yeah, that'll.
31:19Okay, 7-0. You've gotten a good win under your belt in the division.
31:23Yeah, you beat the Packers too. But if they lose this week, then that starts to feel like it could fall off quick.
31:29Because it would be 3-0 in the division. Yeah.
31:32Because they would have beaten everybody. Yeah. At least one.
31:35So the worst case would be a split. So maybe that's really what the odds are suggesting.
31:39It's more of a, hey, this is – if they beat the Lions, like it's just really hard for them to not make the playoffs.
31:46I would say that – Depending how you feel about the game this week, if you like the Lions to win this
31:52week, go bet the Vikings to miss the playoffs.
31:55And if you like the Vikings to win this week, don't go make that bet.
31:59I just went to bettingpros.com and put a no bet at plus 475 for the Vikings to make the playoffs.
32:05So let's ride. I like it. Debra, let's stick with the Vikings here for your big takeaway.
32:09We'll clear the paint. We'll let you go to work here.
32:13You were stretching those hamstrings for the victory lap before the show, as you told us.
32:17Let's not go too overboard here, even though I know you want to.
32:21But take some time and celebrate your boy. So the reality is nobody should have been shoving J.J.
32:26McCarthy into a dumpster when he hadn't even started a full complement of an entire regular season of games.
32:31So my point right here is so J.J. McCarthy isn't a bust, huh?
32:35He's not a bust, huh? Because I was told by national media, all of Vikings fandom, hell, everybody in the known universe that he was god awful.
32:42He was a terrible quarterback. He was the next Josh Rosen.
32:45He was never going to do anything ever again in the NFL, and he was terrible to begin with.
32:51I'll let the numbers push back on that for me.
32:53Amongst 39 qualifying quarterbacks right now in the NFL, J.J.
32:56McCarthy, first in yards per attempt, fifth in catchable target rate, seventh in CPOE, first by a mile in hero throw rate.
33:02The closest competitors to him in hero throw rate, Lamar Jackson, C.J.
33:06Stroud, Jared Goff, good quarterbacks, living in that 5.8, 6.3% range.
33:09And McCarthy's up in the 14% range. Also just led the Giants to a win.
33:13Almost led them, should have led them to a win against the Saints because I will consistently say, Isaiah Likely, that was a penalty.
33:20Again, we can't go back and rewrite that. But if J.J.
33:23McCarthy leads the NFC East leading Giants to the playoffs, boys, we are going to have a very, very interesting offseason in New York.
33:29And the thing that I always thought was so insane about all the J.J.
33:33stuff was like, dude, like his numbers on a per dropback basis were never as bad as everybody painted them to be.
33:39He improved his play over the back half of last season, but everybody said, oh, it's because the defenses or oh, whatever.
33:45Or they just piled on him on every other bad play.
33:49But the same consistencies weren't had for every other quarterback of his class.
33:52People don't do that for Caleb Williams. Hell, he was on the middle, on the front of a freaking Madden cover and
33:58he had a worse catchable throw rate. So yes, J.J.
34:01McCarthy, I never gave up the faith and I still believe in him because I think he's a good quarterback.
34:07And now we're seeing a player playing with confidence in a room where it's so great to see him playing with confidence
34:13because the thin line for players in the NFL, they have to play with this innate confidence of it doesn't matter whether I can jump over that building.
34:21I have to believe I can jump over that building.
34:23And from his entire tenure in Minnesota, it was like they tried to rework everything about how he played quarterback, how he
34:30threw the ball, how he read defenses, how he ran an offense, all the parts or pieces.
34:34You're seeing a quarterback now that's playing with confidence.
34:37He's letting it rip and he looks damn good doing it, guys.
34:40And the final point I'll make here because everybody will also say, well, he's only played the Saints and the Texans and those defenses aren't good either.
34:48Just tell me you didn't watch the film. If that's the point that people are going to lead with, just tell me
34:54you didn't watch a single freaking snap of either one of those games because the throws that he's putting on film are absolutely awesome.
35:01And the way that he's layering passes and the throws that he's making, you're making those throws against a bad defense or a good defense.
35:08It's impressive nonetheless. Okay, pencils down. I'll shut up.
35:10Let me quickly, Debro, follow up with this before bringing Erickson.
35:13Seven months from now, we're in the middle of the NFL offseason.
35:16It's ranking season on all the shows. They're doing their quarterback rankings on some episode of some national media pockets.
35:22Where is J.J. McCarthy falling? What will be his consensus sort of general range seven months from now?
35:27Obviously, we don't know what the rest of the season is going to look like, but I'm asking you to sort of make your projection here.
35:34Put your money where your mouth is. He will be in what range of quarterback rankings?
35:39He will be. So a lot of this is contingent upon how he plays out the rest of the season and what that looks like.
35:46If he does what is possible for this team, he continues to play good.
35:50Is there going to be bumps in the road?
35:52Sure, there will be. But if he leads the Giants to the playoffs, if he continues to play even at like 75%
35:58of the level that he's playing at right now, he's going to be ranked.
36:02You're going to see almost an overcorrection by the national media because of all the horrible takes that were out there by J.J.
36:09And the fact that he was made into a meme.
36:11The national media will put him probably somewhere in the 15 to 16, 17 range.
36:16I think he'll be above that. Okay. That below or ahead of Bo Nix?
36:20Oh, easily. Dunk on Bo Nix now. Dunk on Bo Nix now.
36:23Which again, a player that I was low on as a prospect, never wrong.
36:27Just early, boys. Well, no, because I bring up because they were all – because that quarterback class, right?
36:32Above or below Michael Penix? Give me J.J. First-round quarterbacks.
36:35I think that's really where the discussion is. I do think he'll be ahead of Michael Penix if those rankings.
36:40Bo Nix, I'm not even saying he shouldn't be ahead of him.
36:44I don't like Bo Nix very much. But like 5-2, we're actually going to talk about the Broncos later in the show.
36:50But like if they keep winning games, like I don't think McCarthy is going to be ranked ahead of him by national media members.
36:57Again, I'm not saying it's right or wrong. 15, 16 feels high to me.
37:01I was thinking like even low 20s would be like – that would be an incredible season for McCarthy given where the reputation was coming into this season.
37:08If he could be like QB 22 or 23 in those sorts of rankings would be incredibly impressive.
37:13Like top half of the NFL, I don't think there will be an overcorrection that gets there.
37:18But I mean I could be right. If he plays awesome – he was awesome this week, no doubt about it.
37:24If he continues to play awesome, then sure. I mean just play it out though.
37:28Like if he continues to play awesome and – because if he does that and say like he leads the Giants to
37:34the playoffs, which right now they're leading the NFC East.
37:37We've called it the NFC East on this show numbers of times before.
37:41Just look at – I'll just go back to a similar Giants quarterback.
37:44Not a similar, but a similar narrative street with all of this.
37:48Just look at the rise and fall of Daniel Jones.
37:50Like where he was basically a meme. He was garbage.
37:53He led the Giants and Brian Dayball's first year to the playoffs and stuff like that.
37:58Everybody jumps on the train and they believe in him and stuff like that.
38:02And I'm not saying J.J. McCarthy is freaking Daniel Jones.
38:04I'm not saying that at all. He's better than Daniel Jones.
38:07Always has been. But to that point, I think you're going to see as much hate was out there in the national
38:14media, there will be a massive overcorrection. Because this is what happens every single time.
38:18People love to crown people too early. People love a redemption story.
38:21People love all of that stuff. So eventually I think that you will see a slight overcorrection with all of that.
38:27But I mean, maybe I'm crazy, guys. Does that sound wrong to you, though?
38:31If he does lead the Giants to the playoffs and all that stuff happens and then we walk into an offseason where
38:37it's like, this is a real question. Next year, who is the starting quarterback for the New York Giants?
38:42Is it J.J. McCarthy or is it Jackson Dart?
38:45Yeah, that is a really interesting question to pose, especially if, to your point, they make the playoffs.
38:50They are in the driver's seat right now, sitting at 4-2-1, especially when you just look at the other teams in this
38:56division where no one really seems like they're going on an upward trajectory.
39:00Where the Giants right now have a lot of momentum, right?
39:03Coming off this big win against the Houston Texans with that 10.5-point underdogs.
39:06And I agree with you. Again, the McCarthy numbers look really great.
39:10Just watching him play, he just looks comfortable in this offense.
39:13And he looked so out of place at times in Minnesota with what they were doing with him.
39:18I know that I mentioned to you in our Slack channel.
39:21But the way that they're using his legs a little bit more, the RPOs in this offense, I get that the reason
39:27why they traded for McCarthy or part of the reason was because they could reinstall the Jackson Dart offense in New York,
39:33which they could not do with James Winston. And it kind of sucks because it's like, oh, this could have been an
39:39even better version if had Jackson Dart not gotten hurt.
39:42What would this team be like if Dart actually stayed healthy the entire weight?
39:46Would they be 6-0? Would they be a 7-0 team just based on what this offense has shown from a ceiling perspective
39:52when the quarterback is able to operate at a high level?
39:55And I think, too, the fact that McCarthy doesn't have the weight of the world on his shoulders anymore.
40:00You have to be the savior. You have to be amazing.
40:04No, because we don't even know if you're going to be the quarterback for the Giants next year.
40:09So he can play loose. He can play aggressive.
40:11That's what he's always done best is throwing the ball downfield, being aggressive.
40:15Again, he had a high hero throw rate last year.
40:18He made a ton of big-time throws last year, but it was compounded by the big misses and Justin Jefferson pouting and
40:24the fact that, okay, he's not doing exactly what we want, even though they were actually still winning games in Minnesota, even when McCarthy was the starting quarterback.
40:31So, again, the matchup really worked in his favor with the Texans.
40:35Again, I don't think the Texans defense is bad.
40:37Now, they're not as good as they were last year, and they've given up a lot of explosive plays, which kind of
40:43played into what McCarthy does really well as targeting the ball downfield.
40:47So I know when you posed the question about the rankings, I was kind of thinking, like, fringe top 20.
40:52Like, that's kind of where my mind kind of settled.
40:55So kind of in between, which I kind of—obviously, D-Bro, you're going to be the highest.
41:00Yeah, yeah, yeah. That doesn't surprise me. And then I'm kind of coming a little bit more conservative.
41:05But look, he's still a really young quarterback, right?
41:07Like, that's the biggest thing. Like, when you compare him to someone like Michael Penix, Michael Penix, what?
41:12He's 26, 27 years old already. Tyler Shuck, 26, 27 years old already.
41:16Like, these aren't young quarterbacks. Like, they're young in terms of experience.
41:19But J.J. McCarthy actually is a young quarterback in terms of his actual age.
41:23He missed his entire rookie year because of injury.
41:26So I think the biggest thing, too, is he has to stay healthy, right?
41:30Like, that's what really derails this in any capacity.
41:32Obviously, with most quarterbacks, it's obviously injury. But with McCarthy specifically, because he has been dealing with a ton of injuries.
41:38So that's the only thing I'm just, like, in the back of my mind, because they are using his legs a little bit more in this offense.
41:45They've got to keep him upright. They've got to keep him protected.
41:49And I hope that, you know, this offense— Again, I've been—one of the biggest things I've been wrong about is this offense overall.
41:55With Matt Nagy and Greg Roman and Callahan. Like, the fact that they've kind of been able to design this type of
42:01offense with this type of quarterback, you know, applaud them.
42:04I did not think they had it in them after what these guys had done in their separate stints.
42:09But maybe you put all these boomers together, and it just, like, works.
42:13Because so far, the Giants offense has been really fun to watch.
42:16And that's another point. I'm glad you let us here, Erickson.
42:19For all of the worries that I think, collectively, media space, all of us had, too, Matt Nagy's doing a pretty damn good job, man.
42:26Like, can we also—like, he's— Despite—not the backfield. The backfield stuff's annoying.
42:30I don't agree with the way the backfield's been.
42:32No, but that also comes down to, like, do they have a real answer in the backfield?
42:37Is the backfield stuff based out of necessity? Because they obviously do not believe in Cam Scadaboo.
42:42More on that later. They should go— Maybe they get a guy.
42:45More on that later. Maybe they should go get a guy.

43:13Erickson, what's your number two reaction this week? Fernando Mendoza watch.
43:16Is it happening here in Las Vegas? So I brought this question up because Clint Kubiak is already getting questions about, okay,
43:22like, are we going to go to the future now?
43:25We've lost four games in a row. And if you're Kubiak, I don't know if this really makes a lot of sense
43:31to pull the plug on Kirk Cousins. I was actually kind of amazed.
43:35He leads the NFL in passing touchdowns this year, Kirk Cousins, at 16.
43:38And to look at him and be like, you know what?
43:41But you're the reason we've lost the last four games in a row, which couldn't be anything from the truth.
43:47Look, has he been played perfect? No. But I don't think it's really his issue that's holding back this Raiders team from winning games.
43:53It's because they had to go up a weight class in competition over their last four games.
43:58And the defense has failed the test in four straight games.
44:01Like, like defense has been absolutely atrocious over the last four games that they have absolutely they've played.
44:06So I'm trying to pull up the numbers I had for them.
44:10Given the their defensive struggles. Eric, so while you're looking for that, also, can I can I ask you a question with all of this?
44:17Yes. Do we want to throw Fernando Mendoza out to this part of the schedule where they are going to play after they play the Jets?
44:24They play the 49ers, the Seahawks, the Broncos, and then the Browns.
44:27Is that really where we want to expose? And I talked about this last night, actually, on the betting pro show.
44:33We talked a little bit about Mendoza. And I've made it this point.
44:37I was like, they either need to start him this week and say at least he gets one under his belt against
44:43the Jets or they got to wait till after the bye because that is a brutal stretch.
44:48I think you wait until after that. You let him start versus the Chargers, Broncos, Tennessee Titans, Cardinals and Chiefs to kick it off.
44:54It might be like Chiefs backups considering at that point of the season.
44:58So the defense since week four, they have allowed an average of thirty five point eight points and four hundred and sixteen
45:04and a half yards per game to add more concerns about throwing Mendoza into the situation.
45:09Do you want to put a rookie quarterback in when his defense is giving up bleeding points to every offense that they
45:15face, putting you into pass heavy game scripts because the Raiders can't run the ball, right?
45:19At all. It's crazy how Ashton Gentry, his fantasy production is all about the receiving game.
45:24I look at his box score this past week.
45:26I'm like, oh, my God, dude, this guy was a mega bust.
45:29And then I look at, oh, he would have caught eight pass.
45:33He's Alvin Kamara. Is he not Alvin Kamara right now in Las Vegas?
45:36Like we're kind of we're fine for fantasy. So this is something that I when is this going to change or is this going to change?
45:44I mean, they had all these investments in the offensive line, bringing entire Linderbaum, getting guys healthy on the tackle positions.
45:50The run game looks broken like you did last year.
45:52Now, obviously, sometimes these things take time to gel.
45:55We saw last year Ben Johnson's offense from the run game perspective was not good to start the year.
46:00But the big difference was they had an early bye week and then they were able to kind of fix things out
46:06of their bye week, which I would just leave was like in week four, week five.
46:11And then they ran really effectively the rest of the season.
46:14The Raiders don't have that luxury, right? Their bye week is still weeks away.
46:18So is this run game going to get fixed?
46:20Is the defense going to get fixed? Kubiak has talked about, hey, we got to go back and watch the film to make adjustments.
46:27And I don't think his takeaway from watching the film is going to be, you know what?
46:32Kirk Cousins, you may leave the NFL passing touchdowns.
46:34I think we've got to sit down to put Mendoza in it.
46:38And like, this is coming from someone that I wanted Mendoza in like right away.
46:42I have tickets for him to win offensive rookie of the year, which don't help when he's not playing.
46:47So for me, I think that the Raiders probably have to keep rolling with Kirk.
46:51Maybe they think they lose two, three more games.
46:54Maybe they're like, all right, like, let's just get them out there because the season is kind of going down the toilet
47:00because of our other issues on defense, which Kubiak do.
47:03That's not his domain, right? He's an offensive minded head coach.
47:06How is he going to fix the defense? I will just say, sorry to interrupt Erickson.
47:10Like it is a really tough four game stretch for any defensive face.
47:14Kansas City, New England with Drake may play well again, the bills and then the Rams, Sean McVay, Matthew Stafford.
47:19Like I think a lot of defenses would struggle in those four straight games.
47:23Now they've struggled maybe more than you would like to see.
47:26They've been really, really bad, but it is like, you could hardly have had a bigger swing from the start of their
47:33schedule to the last month of their schedule in terms of the competition you're going up against.
47:37So, you know, I'm actually really curious to see how they do against the Jets, like sort of a more middle of the pack.
47:44Like they're definitely not good, but they're definitely not as terrible as, you know, like the Chargers have been this year or anything like that.
47:51So I, I'm curious to see what this league looks like specifically for the Vegas defense.
47:55So to the point that you pose the question, can Las Vegas, uh, fix the run game?
48:00Not unless this offensive line turns around massively. Boys, do you want to know who has the lowest yards before contact per
48:06attempt in the entire NFL as an offensive line?
48:09Yeah, it's the Las Vegas Raiders. They're not even giving the running backs one yard before they're hit one yard.
48:14It's at 0.91. Just for context, the next closest horrible run blocking offensive line is the Cincinnati Bengals at 1.32.
48:20That it's so like, and also when you understand the archetype of running back that Ashton Gentry is, he's not like this
48:26four, three speed guy where it's immediate and actual burst.
48:29He's a volume back. Get it like where he does.
48:32His best work is giving him a crease and allowing him to get into the second level of a defense, even fully healthy.
48:38I mean, this is what we saw for Ashton Gentry last year.
48:41So if they want to fix this, so I am very much on the side of do not play Fernando.
48:47Not, not with barely any offensive weapons outside of Brock Bowers.
48:50Ashton Gentry is not healthy. Your defense is suspect.
48:53You're going to be put in pass heavy game scripts, whether you like it or not, because your defense and the constitution
48:59of everything, just this depth chart and the offensive line is not good.
49:02Like they're not run blocking. Well, they're being kind of hidden because of the low time to throw for the Raiders passing attack that have, okay.
49:10Are they even good at pass protecting? Well, the numbers aren't horrible, but when it's get the ball out of your freaking
49:16hands or you're going to get annihilated, it kind of helps your offensive line numbers.
49:20I think one thing that they could try and do their team that could definitely be a buyer at the trade deadline
49:26because they have the future of Fernando Mendoza so they can get a player.
49:30What if they trade for Quentin Nelson, right? Let's upgrade one of our interior offensive line positions, try to create more space for running backs.
49:37Why can we add a deep threat wide receiver?
49:39Hello, Brian Thomas Jr. Hello, please make it easier so that it's not as easy for teams to stack the box against these Raiders running backs.
49:47Having a legitimate deep threat. We like Trey Tucker.
49:49We like him, but like, is he really like forcing defense?
49:52Oh, we got to make sure we have a too high shell because they have Trey Tucker.
49:57Like he's not that type of gravitational pull. Whereas Brian Thomas Jr.
50:00In the right offense, we saw he did his rookie year.
50:03Like we know that this guy can be a big play threat down the field and is going to force defenses to
50:10at least pay attention to him and open things up underneath for the tight ends for Brock Bowers and especially for this run game.
50:16So that's one thing that I think the Raiders should look at when it comes to, Hey, we're not a threat downfield.
50:22That's what we need to improve here. And I know they have some guys on the roster like the Thornton guy they drafted last year.
50:29He's like a high speed guy. But to me, I think that the Raiders would be buying even almost not even dependent
50:36on what their record is because I think that whoever they end up buying could be a part of their future plans in 2027.
50:42We got to move on. D bro, let's go to your reaction.
50:46You were talking about the running situation. You want to talk about some other backfields in the NFL.
50:51Who has the top three as far as the one, the best one, two punch as far as running backs in the NFL.
50:57And we can kind of narrow some of this.
51:00So I kind of composed a list of like at least off the dome, like what I think are the best, like
51:06at least in the conversation for best one, two punches as far as running backs go in the NFL.
51:11But I'm curious where we sit with the top three guys.
51:14So let's whittle this list down pretty fast. Okay.
51:17Okay. Ramondre Steven, Travion Henderson. Are they in the conversation?
51:19I'm going to say no. I wouldn't put them in the top three.
51:23All right. I don't either. So good. Clean sweep.
51:26DeAndre Swift, Kyle Mononga. I think they're firmly in the conversation.
51:29Yes, for sure. Moving on. Kenneth Walker and Emmitt Johnson.
51:31I think that that could be a surprise for a lot of people.
51:35I think Emmitt's really freaking good. Thoughts, guys? For me, that's more of like a top six in the NFL than a top three.
51:42I think it's fair to have them in the conversation.
51:44I don't think they're in the top three, but I do think it's worth shouting them because Emmitt Johnson's really good.
51:50I think it's a good honorable mention. All right.
51:53I think it's still too much like it's Ken Walker and Emmitt Johnson's just like happy to be on that.
51:58But they're worth a mention for sure. The Robinson twins in Atlanta.
52:02I would have them in this conversation. All right.
52:04Erickson, you agree? You co-sign that? I just, I think Brian Robinson.
52:08Just very mid. Okay. Let me just quickly before you go to the next one, D-Bro.
52:12Are we saying who has the best backup? Because that's not the best is one, two.
52:17Bijan being the number one is really relevant to this being a one, two.
52:20They have one of the two best running backs.
52:23I think it's in some of the parts. It's, it's both the running backs in this because we're, we're going to talk about a lot of elite guys.
52:31It also, but also. I think Brian Robinson is good enough as a backup that the fact that he's paired with maybe
52:37the best running back in the NFL makes them very much a contender for this conversation.
52:41I, I wouldn't. Okay. So we, so we disagree on this.
52:44Okay. Okay. All right. We'll, we'll leave them out for the sake and point, uh, just for elimination sake, Aaron Jones and
52:51Jordan Mason, we're limiting them easy, right? No. Yes.
52:53Okay. No. Ashton Gentium, Mike Washington. No, I would not put them there.
52:57All right. Okay. We're, we're whittling this down fast boys.
53:00Bucky Irving and Kenneth Gainwell. Okay. No, not for me.
53:02So I mean, it's a one, two punch that they keep trying to sell us on.
53:07It doesn't actually exist. So the only one we've, we've collectively said yes to is Deandre Swift and Kyle Manonga.
53:12So if the final two are in, then we have our top three and then we can just talk about who is the best.
53:19Okay. So Brees Hall and Braylon Allen. I think considering what Braylon has done this year, I, I'm, I didn't expect to
53:25be here, but I'm kind of here. So, so I definitely think they're worth having a conversation about for like, for me,
53:31I would rather, I would put the Atlanta duo over the Jets duo.
53:35Um, but I think they both deserve to be in that conversation.
53:38I think the Jets duo over the Atlanta duo for me only because Braylon, I think this year has shown me a lot, man.
53:45I wasn't expecting to see this version of Braylon Allen.
53:48Erickson be the tiebreaker. I guess for me, it's, we still haven't seen the, but we haven't seen this one, two duo like in action this year.
53:55Okay. Like even when Brees Hall was healthy, did we see, oh, Hall and Allen.
54:00No, but you've seen both of them carry the starters load and do really well with it.
54:04So regardless of seeing both of them or not.
54:07When you ask the question is, but this isn't who has the top two running backs.
54:11It's who has the best one, two punch. And when I think about that, I think about how they compliment each other.
54:17And I think that like conceptually, yes, this makes so much sense, but it hasn't really played out that way.
54:23Like when we're talking about this in a month and Braylon comes back healthy, it's like, oh wait, this backfield is so sick.
54:29He, they have to be in the top three, which I agree, but I think it's still more of a projection versus
54:36like, I mean, we've already seen DeAndre Swift and Colin Madon guy like do this and be a one, two punch and be really great.
54:43Whereas Aaron Glenn keeps telling us, oh, we love this one, two punch with Braylon Allen and Brees Hall.
54:48And it's like, but do we, but do, but to your point, do we see that once Brees comes back now considering what Braylon Allen has done?
54:55Yeah. Okay. So we're projecting a little bit, but I think also it's a conversation about the talent of both these guys and what they've both done.
55:03I would just say to your point, like we have, again, we have seen the Atlanta guys use them as a one,
55:09two punch and both have big games in the same, same game and kind of come in and compliment each other.
55:15So like, I do think they, they kind of fit that narrative a little better than the Jets do, honestly.
55:20Yeah. Worm's got a little bit of, and I think obviously a shoe in is Kyron and Blake Corum.
55:26Yeah. I was going to say that tip to me, Chicago and the Rams are the two like no doubt about it.
55:32So one actually that you guys didn't. So actually, please, please.
55:35Yeah. I put a Jalen Warren and Rico. Oh, that's a good poll.
55:39They came to mind for me and I was like, I don't know if I want to make the, like, again, that
55:45feels more like a top six or seven than a top three.
55:48This is so, they are so thunder and lightning, dude.
55:51And they're both good. Like. Oh my gosh. I can't believe I left them off.
55:55So I would put them, they were my, they were in my top three when I was doing it.
56:00They're more like six for me, but again, it's serving of the conversation.
56:04Okay. So we, we, we can whittle this down to like, we got to like, I think a submitted kind of top five here, right?
56:11Like, it sounds to me like basically one and two in some orders, Chicago and the Rams.
56:16And then we all kind of have a different like potential third.
56:19It could be the Steelers. It could be the Falcons.
56:22It could be the jets. Those feel like the next three.
56:25That's fair. I feel like I'm now that like, and I will apologize as the Jalen Warren truther.
56:30Oh my gosh. I feel so bad that I did not.
56:33I came on this show and said he is the most underrated running back in the NFL and I'm underrating him.
56:39I feel terrible now. So now he's in my top three.
56:42That's a overcorrection season is here. So yeah. Oh man.
56:45I think that's fair. Can we settle? Can we agree on that as a top five though?
56:49Yeah. Oh yeah. I think that's a, that's a very like cemented top five.
56:53We, we, we, we do have a lot more tops to get to.
56:57So we, we got to move on, but who's number one between Kyron and Corum is number one.
57:02They're number one ahead of Chicago for you. I actually do agree.
57:05I didn't know if you guys were going to disagree with me though.
57:09Kyron and Corum is number one easy. No. Cause it's just like, it's just like great running back wanting great running back.
57:15I think Kyron versus Swift is a wash. I think Blake Corum is a better running back than Kyle Manon guy.
57:21And this is no shade to Kyle Manon guy.
57:24Like, well, I also don't think it's a wash.
57:26I think Kyron's better than Swift too. So I think they are probably both a little, not by a lot.
57:32I think they are both a little bit better than their counterpart.
57:35That's fair. On the Chicago side. Especially in some of the, dude, some of the games where we've seen Kyron used in
57:41like a full CMC type of role has been incredibly impressive.
57:44Ben Johnson also is one of the, like maybe the best run game coordinator in, in football.
57:49And so like that, I'm not trying to take away from Swift, I'm a guy, but like that's a benefit that they have.
57:55Yeah, splitting hairs. Nick Vey's very good at that too, of course, but yes.
57:59So, all right. Well, let's keep the rankings going for my number two reaction here.
58:03Zay Flowers, guys. We were really excited about him early on in the season.
58:07And then we haven't really talked about him on the show that much in the last couple of weeks.
58:13And I think it's time to bring it back.
58:15He had another one of those epic first halves this season.
58:18He is the what best wide receiver in the NFL, the blank best wide receiver.
58:22Where does he rank for you guys? I'm going to throw out some stats for you.
58:27He has three different halves this season with 119 yards at least and a touchdown.
58:31In the first half of week one, he had 150 and a touchdown.
58:35In the first half of week four, he had 119 and a touchdown.
58:38First half of week seven, 120 and a touchdown.
58:41He is wide receiver six on the season despite missing time.
58:44He has 40 catches for 608 yards and three touchdowns this season.
58:47Second at yards per outrun behind only JSN on the year.
58:50Omar Cooper is also higher, but he's missed some time.
58:53So if you take that out with the smaller sample size, he's behind only JSN in yards per outrun.
58:58Guys, he has played just four halves this season with Lamar Jackson.
59:02The two of them have been on the field for four halves of football this year.
59:06And by the way, two of those halves were when Zay was really limited in Brazil.
59:11We weren't even sure he was going to play and he came back and played limited stats.
59:15He's played two healthy halves of football with Lamar Jackson this season.
59:19And he's putting up these kinds of numbers. I was looking through the wide receiver rankings, but you know, coming here to make this, this conversation.
59:26And obviously there are a few names that are clearly no doubt about it better than Zay Flowers.
59:31I'm not going to get crazy and say he's better.
59:34So Jamar Chase is better. JSN is better. Puka went on the field is better.
59:38He has the off field stuff hanging over that.
59:41I'm in a St. Brown is better. And despite the lack of stats stuff, I don't know if I'm in a is better.
59:47I'm just so consistent. He's like, he's like one of the only receivers ever to be putting up this like hundred catches,
59:53thousand yards, 10 touchdowns, just three straight years in a row.
59:56It's he's so consistent. And then Justin Jefferson, I was going to say, I know it's, it's the quarterback that's limiting him.
60:02He's, he's, he's still better. The guy, the two, I wasn't sure about it were CD lamb and Drake London.
60:08I think Zay is at worst. The next name up after those in terms of real life NFL, not talking fantasy, the way he's playing right now.
60:15He, I think of him. Lamar had been healthy all season.
60:18This would be like similar to the JSN breakout last year, statistically, just like what he's doing.
60:23Absolutely unbelievable. So again, for me, there's four or five that I think are definitely ahead.
60:28One or two that are like, I think it's arguable.
60:30He's in that tier. And then I don't think you can make the case.
60:34So like at worst, we're talking the eighth best receiver in the NFL for a guy who, by the way, everybody was
60:41making fun of his contract this off season. And that looks silly now.
60:44I wasn't. No, we weren't. Well, we were like, yes.
60:47It was for sure. Well, national media is foolish.
60:49You got a lot of people talking out their butts and don't know what they're talking about.
60:54So there's that. Dude, I think the Amonra line is really, really good.
60:58The only name you didn't mention that I think is above him.
61:01So I think it's JSN, Chase, Puka. Malik Neighbors is above him.
61:05I think Neighbors is above him. I was making a list on the fly as you were rolling through names.
61:10I think other players names to evoke in here, you said CeeDee Lamb, Drake London, Chris Alave.
61:15I don't think Justin Jefferson is still in this rarefied air.
61:18I just, I think Jefferson's fall off came last year, but that's a conversation for a different day.
61:23It's fair. I think the Amonra line is, and, but that, I think Zay is a top six receiver.
61:28I truly do. Neighbors is in the Puka category of when he's on the field.
61:32Yes, he is better. It just has not always been there, but obviously like, yes, that's a good one to include.
61:38Like, I think there's a cemented top four. There's JSN, Chase, Neighbors, and Puka is my top four right now.
61:44Again, just doing this off the fly. Yeah. And I think the conversation for Zay Flowers starts in that five, six range with him and Amonra.
61:51Like, I feel like I have to give it to Amonra just to know consistency.
61:55Yeah. I don't disagree with that, but I will say if you put Zay Flowers, drop, air drop him into the same
62:01circumstances Amonra's had in a pass heavy offense over the last few years where it wasn't bottom three, bottom five, Zay Flowers is putting up similar stats.
62:09Not, I'm not, I'm not going to say the same, but dude, his, he's so dang good.
62:14Like people look at Zay Flowers and his size, sorry, Warren, but like they look at his size and like, and they
62:20say, well, Zay Flowers isn't that good versus man coverage.
62:23He can't be press. And I'm like, based off of what, what?
62:26Nothing real of consequence. No, no stats. I mean, again, again, Erickson, like he would be on pace to break the receiving record this season.
62:33If he had been healthy with Amonra so far, it feels like the way they have played when they've been on the field together and both are healthy.
62:41Like he has been on a record shattering pace that could slow down.
62:44Of course, I'm not saying he would have broken the record, but like, again, it, it felt like when we've seen them
62:51on the field together in this version of the offense, it felt like JSN a year ago, what he's able to do after the catch is unreal.
62:58I think that if you want to make the argument for the best player with the ball in their hands after the catch, I think, right.
63:05I mean, Zay, I think has the most yards out of the catch.
63:09It's probably up there with JSN. I don't know how the exact numbers, but dude, that's how he's doing so much of his damage.
63:16It reminded me so much of what he was doing in the first half against that Bengals defense is what Jamar Chase
63:22usually does to the Ravens defense every single year where he's just like, he gets the ball and he's like, well, there's
63:28another touchdown for this wide receiver that nobody on this defense can catch.
63:32And that was the breakaway touchdown, right? It's like, oh, the Bengals, oh, they're going to catch up.
63:37Nope. Gone. Touchdown. Like doesn't even, doesn't even need red zone usage to score touchdowns.
63:41Like that's how good say flowers has been after the catch.
63:44So I think that the Amon Ra discussion is a little bit nuanced because you're kind of comparing a little bit of
63:50receivers that work in different ways because Amon Ra, again, so consistent, just great hands.
63:54I mean, he broke the record for most catches in the first six years of an NFL player, like a wide receiver this past week.
64:01So yeah, to your point, like the body of work with Amon Ra has been like every single year.
64:06It's a hundred catches, 1300 yards, double digit touchdowns, like clockwork.
64:10So that's something that you can't just wipe away with Amon Ra.
64:13Whereas they flower. Yes. A surging player right now entering year four, definitely the best year of his career so far.
64:19And the fact that what he's able to do after the catch is just absolutely, it's electric.
64:23Just for all the haters out there over the last two seasons.
64:27So since 2025 amongst 72 qualifying wide receivers, because I know people are going to say, Oh, he's talking out of his
64:33butt versus man coverage with Zay Flowers. Okay, fine.
64:35Here's numbers. 72 qualifying wide receivers versus man coverage.
64:38Zay Flowers is second. Actually, he's not second. He's tied in separation score with JSN and he's third in route win rate behind only JSN and Devontae Adams.
64:46He's really freaking good. Yeah, he is excellent. We're going really long here.
64:49So I still want to get in these. We can speed run mine.
64:53No doubt. Let's just, let's just speed run these.
64:56Cause we did want to talk about them. I'll actually go first.
64:59Cause I think mine's the quickest. Are the, are the Broncos actually good or not?
65:03They're five and two. We don't really believe in Bo Nix.
65:06No, we're frustrated by this offense. It's a, it's a pain to watch.
65:10But again, they're five and two. If they win this week against the chiefs, they're gonna be in first place in that
65:16division right now, which is kind of crazy to think about.
65:19So Debra, I ask you, are the Broncos actually good?
65:22No, there is one thing that they are elite at and the rest of things are questionable or terrible.
65:27Their offensive line is still above average. You could say they're very good.
65:31That's fine. Not going to push back on that.
65:33They are an elite pass defense as a run defense.
65:36Horrible. As a run offense. Horrible. As a passing offense.
65:39Horrible. Bo Nix. Horrible. No. No. Having said that, Erickson, they've beaten the Jags who we really like.
65:44They've beaten the Rams who are really talented. They've beaten the Seahawks who just looked really good against the previously undefeated chiefs last night and are defending champs.
65:52So they have three really impressive wins under their belt this season.
65:55Are the five and two Broncos good? And their two losses are against teams that entered week seven undefeated.
66:00The loss of the Chiefs, the loss of the 49ers.
66:03So for me, Denver, I don't think it's fair to say they're not a good team because they are their last 21 games.
66:09They are 18 and three. Like this team finds ways to win.
66:13So they're not without their warts. Of course, they were left off our top seven AFC teams last week.
66:18And I noted that as, okay, like one team that could potentially make noise here would be the Denver Broncos.
66:24They won again against the Arizona Cardinals. It was not pretty.
66:27So to me, above average is probably more of a better way to describe them.
66:31And they're going to kind of be in the mix.
66:34I think maybe it's like, are they contender or not?
66:37Right. And I think that we probably all agree that they don't feel like a contender, but I mean, you got to
66:43give credit where they find ways to win games, right?
66:45And again, that's sometimes one of the best things about some of these teams is it's not pretty.
66:51Sometimes you got to win ugly, but they do it.
66:53And their schedule is going to get a lot easier as the season progresses.
66:57Again, it was brutal to start the year. Murderers row.
67:00And the fact that they're five and two, like, I think you got to give them some credit and to the run game.
67:06Hey, Jonah Coleman, let's get this guy going. There are paths and ways where you can see this team potentially improving over the next couple of weeks.
67:14And look, we've seen good versions of Bo Nix before.
67:17So it's just a matter of, can that guy show up at some point for this offense that has kind of been
67:23going through growing pains with the play call or switching and all these things going on.
67:27So I guess, I don't know if I answered the question, like good or not there.
67:32They're above average is my opinion. You stated the question or you framed it as they find ways to win.
67:37I, the only difference that I have there is I think they find ways not to lose games by playing safe as
67:44an offense and allowing their defense to suffocate teams once they get a lead because their past defense is so good and unleashing the pass rush.
67:51I think they find ways not to lose games as opposing ways to find ways to win it.
67:56So let's keep the rapid fire going here. Erickson, I'll go to you next.
68:00Who's going to win the NFC South is your question.
68:02Yeah. So I have the odds listed right here.
68:05So the Panthers are currently favorites at plus 150 followed by the Falcons at plus 220.
68:09Then Tampa Bay at five to one and the saints at nine to one.
68:13So who do you think wins and, or who is your favorite bet of those is the Falcons at two to one.
68:20Yeah. Yeah. But favorite is relative to this is the tough division to predict.
68:23It's not that like I'm not banging the table for it, but, but that there, I mean, again, none of these teams have a winning record.
68:31Caroline is winning. Atlanta is such a clear delineation between pre Cooper rush and post your, you know, Cooper rush getting Michael panics back.
68:37I should say, yeah, not pre Cooper rush, but Cooper rush pre Michael panics that to me, they're the one that has
68:44the best chance of just going on or I mean, they just beat the team that we thought was the best team in the NFL.
68:50I'm not saying that makes them the best team in the NFL.
68:54They're, they're far from it in my opinion, but I think this is the best team in the division when Michael panics jr is healthy.
69:01So if he stays healthy the rest of the day, I think they win the division.
69:05And the fact that they're not favorites, I think is a benefit.
69:09I'll take the Falcons. And the only reason I'm taking the Falcons is because they have the best defensive unit.
69:14Um, Tampa Bay's past defense has been improving, but they cannot rush the passer.
69:18The saints defense has fallen apart and it's got awful.
69:21The Panthers have been playing a little bit above their heads as far as an offense and a defense.
69:26I think some of that's coming back to earth.
69:29If Bryce young, if he, if he looks as bad of the next few games as he looked last week, which I don't think he does.
69:36But at the same time, I don't think their defense is like a solution for them.
69:40I'll take the Falcons. Although, you know, like we said, like every team has their own warts.
69:45I guess I'm backing the best defense out of this division.
69:48The Falcons have a really tough stretch starting in week nine of Bengals chiefs by week at Minnesota versus Detroit.
69:54But outside of that four game stretch, the rest of their schedule is pretty, pretty manageable.
69:58Yeah. So really, can they play defense? It can Bajon Robinson take over games.
70:02And if they can do that, all they got to do is win enough games to get to play Carolina again and be Carolina.
70:09It's fair because Carolina has the tiebreaker, I believe, against them, which is why the odds Carolina destroyed them.
70:14And the Saints have no defense and they can't run the damn ball.
70:18Yeah, dude, the Saints. I mean, I wish, dude, that I just, it seems like it's just two steps back with the Saints.
70:24Every time it looks like they're going to make a step forward, they shoot themselves It's because their offensive line issues have become a problem.
70:31And really, the defense has legit just fallen apart.
70:34Debra, you want to play a little matchmaker here?
70:36Let's go really quickly and get out of here.
70:39Yeah, I got a four pack of players. Let's say, okay, all these four players get traded.
70:43Where do they go? Let's fight about it. Tony Pollard.
70:46My prediction is he goes to the Seattle Seahawks because they don't have a running back of consequence on that team right now.
70:53Jadarian Price, Zach Charbonnet. No, no, no. Thank you.
70:55Can Tony Pollard go to Seattle, fix the run game woes and just play the Kenneth Walker role of yesteryear?
71:01If Tony Pollard doesn't go to Seattle, where does he go, boys?
71:04I honestly can't find a good spot for Tony Pollard.
71:07I think Seattle's a perfect fit. The thing I like about Seattle as opposed to a Jonathan Taylor is they just spent
71:13a lot of draft capital on a running back, even Jadarian Price.
71:16So they're not going to want to spend another huge amount of draft capital on a different running back.
71:22Pollard feels more attainable. So I like him for Seattle more than I like Jonathan Taylor for Seattle.
71:27I mean, I guess if I had to say something, maybe the 49ers just as more insurance for McCaffrey.
71:32If this thing is legit again, you know, Robert Sala has a connection with Kyle Shanahan.
71:37He'd be like, Hey, you want a veteran running back that is proven producer can play on all three downs.
71:42Again, do they want to overlook Kalon Black potentially as a rookie running back in an offense that's already down so many playmakers?
71:49Maybe the only other place I could say Pollard is maybe the Vikings.
71:52Like if they're in Jones stuff. The Vikings, I think I was also live for running.
71:57I was going to say maybe like maybe if something else happens in the Josh Jacobs saga, the Packers, if it's like,
72:03if he then ends up not being an option, but I just feel like a running back is not going to fix
72:09the, he's not going to fix the woes there.
72:11Is he like, it doesn't matter what running back you bring in.
72:15They're all going to be horrible running behind that line.
72:18All right. Staying, staying on the running back position.
72:20I think this is Locke said forget. I'm just going to go ahead and just say it.
72:25Jonathan Taylor's going to the Giants. It makes too much sense, man.
72:28It feels too much sense. Yeah. Too much sense.
72:31They lost Saquon. They've been screaming for a bell cow running back.
72:34They were like Erickson and I were talking about, I think earlier in the show, it's like they were in on Jeremiah Love.
72:40They're out on Kim Skadaboo. Harbaugh wants the bell cow running back to define his offense regardless of whoever the quarterback is for this season and next season.
72:48You know, you got Jonathan Taylor. It makes too much sense, guys.
72:52I might even argue against it. No. And I think it's a wonderful marriage.
72:55I think it's beautiful. I think JT would be awesome for them.
72:59Okay. So moving on. Tariq Wollin. Where does he go?
73:02I think the Locke said forget fit. And this goes down to the Brad Holmes of it all.
73:07Brad, you're going to give away any draft capital?
73:09We shall see. Tariq Wollin to the Detroit Lions.
73:12Yeah. I can't find one that's better than the Lions.
73:14I mean, he would allow for them to do exactly what they want to as far as play press man as well as he's awesome in zone.
73:22So that ability, because a lot of corners you're getting, not everybody can man up and play press coverage.
73:27Tariq can. Almost every contender could use another cornerback.
73:30It's just a position where you always could use another one.
73:33So like the Lions needed the most. Yes. That's my point.
73:36It's like, yes, the Bills could use one. I think the Ravens could use one.
73:40I think the nine, like a lot of teams out there could use one.
73:44You can't, like, you can't find a better fit than the Lions.
73:47No, no, no. And also, this is the low-hanging fruit, I kind of think.
73:51DeForest Buckner, is he just going back to the 49ers?
73:54We're just going to reunite the man. The Colts get like a round four pick for him or round five pick, just any pick for him.
74:01It just makes too much sense, man. Yeah. I think that makes sense.
74:05A couple other names I threw out, the Rams, potentially, because they've had some defensive line injuries as well, putting Puna Ford
74:11on injury reserve, Kobe Turner went on injury reserve.
74:14So if they're looking for more bodies up front, I think that they make sense.
74:18And then just bad defensive lines in general, Carolina, Chicago.
74:21The Bears was mine. The Bears make a ton of sense.
74:24Damn, that's a good call. I didn't even think about the Bears, but the Bears make a ton of sense.
74:29Their front seven could really use that heft. But yeah, that was going to be my call.
74:34Kind of like they should have never traded Gervon Dexter away.
74:37Oh, weird. All right. We'll go ahead and wrap things up there.
74:40We went extra long for you guys. Hope everybody enjoyed the episode.
74:44Sorry, I had a 15-minute rant. For Erickson and Debra, I'm Ryan Warmly.
74:47Thanks for tuning in. We'll see you again next time.
